Staff were warm, friendly, and welcoming. I had the Cornish rarebit and it was absolutely delicious, full of flavour. There's also a lovely little deli and shop inside, which was a great surprise. A fantastic spot all round

Ye Olde Malthouse Inn

Fore St, Tintagel

I stayed here recently and can honestly say it felt like a home away from home. I have PTSD and I’m neurodivergent, so travelling can be daunting — especially as this was my first solo trip in a long while. On my first night I was feeling a bit unsettled, and the room I’d been given wasn’t ideal for me personally. Tikes, however, was incredibly kind and immediately offered to move me to another room if one became available. That thoughtfulness meant a lot.

From then on, I just felt safe, comfortable, and completely welcome. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the food is delicious, and the cleanliness is impeccable. The inn’s location in the heart of Tintagel is perfect — you can step out and be surrounded by history, scenery, and everything the village has to offer. The views around are so pleasant, I was able to walk around feeling so safe even late at night or early hours of morning.

I also want to mention how much I appreciated the care and attention from everyone here. It’s not just a place to stay; it’s somewhere you can truly relax, and for people with anxiety or nervous system sensitivities, that’s priceless.

The prices are reasonable, the setting is charming, and my experience was magical from start to finish. I can’t wait to return and would recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone visiting Cornwall.

P.s dog friendly!

Absolutely delicious (as in it can’t get more delicious) cream tea! Totally recommend. A footnote… the young lasses serving were gossiping and making derogatory comments about other customers. Not so good. But food was incredible.

Had the most amazing stay here at the beginning of February this year. My husband and I had were married earlier that day so was for our wedding night. It was absolutely perfect, low key, friendly, relaxed and the most amazing food along with stunning views. Will absolutely be back soon.

We had an unforgettable stay at Camelot Castle Hotel, and it truly felt like stepping into a fairytale. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was magical — perched dramatically on the cliffs of Tintagel with sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean and the legendary Tintagel Castle ruins just a walk away. As a family traveling with teenage sons, we were all captivated by the unique charm of the hotel. They loved exploring the corridors, discovering the art gallery, and diving into the stories of King Arthur and the knights of the Round Table. Our apartment 1 was spacious, warm, and comfortable — with large windows framing breathtaking sea views. Waking up to the sound of waves and enjoying coffee with a view of Tintagel Castle was pure magic. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. If you're a family looking for somewhere extraordinary, steeped in legend and surrounded by Cornwall’s wild beauty, Camelot Castle Hotel is a must. We will definitely be back!
