Arnside Chip Shop
1 The Promenade, Arnside, CarnforthVery very busy. We arrived at 5pm on a Friday and it was a 30/40 minutes wait for the order. We went and came back around 6pm and now it was 1 hour wait. Not their fault, but too much of a wait. Price ok, but they charge for ketchup, spoons, forks etc.They do have a place where you can wait while having a drink- coffee, tea, soft drinks and so on

24 The Promenade, Arnside, CarnforthLovely little place for a light lunch or drink and a cake. Very obliging staff they can change and swap things to suit you from the menu. Quiche was very nice. Quieter than other cafes in Arnside no idea why as the food is excellent and very well priced for the area (places nearby charging £18 for a pizza).

16a Emesgate Ln, Silverdale, CarnforthMy daughter and I had a meal at Cinnamon Spice yesterday evening. The food was great, as was the service. We had soft drinks from the menu. We had been advised that they do not serve alcohol, but it was suggested we could bring our own? If you forget , there's a Co-op next door. Also, the restaurant is cash only, again there is a cash machin close by..Great little restaurant!

Used as a 2 night stopover in motorhome.
There was a bbq on the first night which was great.
Friendly staff and locals.
V quiet at night.
Need to eat in pub if staying over, but that is the norm.

Ingleton Chippy
The Square, Ingleton, CarnforthA quick internet search for a traditional fish and chip shop serving Christmas dinner led me to Ingleton Chippy, 80 miles from my home in Cheshire—and it was worth every mile. Parking was mostly street-side and limited, but we had no trouble on a Friday lunchtime. Larger pay-and-display car parks are also within walking distance. The village, lightly dusted with snow, set the perfect scene for a festive chippy dinner.
Inside, the shop was spacious, clean, and tidy, with stools indoors and outdoor seating under a canopy. The staff were welcoming, and the menu featured extensive chip shop favourites alongside tempting specials.
The Christmas dinner included a stuffing ball, sliced turkey in rich gravy, roast potatoes, battered sprouts, and battered pigs in blankets—all delicious. Dessert was crispy battered mince pies, precisely as I’d imagined—crispy on the outside and delightful inside. A portion of battered mushrooms and a box of scraps cooked in beef dripping rounded off the meal perfectly.

Chapel-le-Dale, CarnforthWant to thank the owners for their hospitality today after my dad suffered loss of feeling in his legs after walking on the three peaks track. Also want to thank the fellow walkers who aided my dad back to the inn. Was nice for owner to allow us to come in on day they normally closed and cook us lovely bacon sandwich and drink. Three County Catering
Crag House, High Casterton, CarnforthI have just had a fabulous cookery demonstration day with Fiona. I learned so much about cooking techniques and how to cook delicious food, which we got to taste as part of a fabulous lunch and afternoon tea. We were welcomed with coffee and the best cheese scones and ginger biscuits I’ve ever tasted. All in all an amazing day, a satiated appetite and lots of tasty recipes to try at home. We were even given a goody bag with Ingredients and beautiful almond biscuits to take home. I can thoroughly recommend this cookery experience and I hope to do it again very soon! Thank you!!

The tastiest Chinese meal we have had actually! Portions are generous and the flavours were outstanding.
Please don’t judge the front of the shop as the business is in the back and you can see all the cooking going on too!! Prices are standard and cheaper than others around the area.

Greenlands Farm Village
Greenlands Farm Village, Tewitfield, Carnforthwe visited last week and had an amazing day. I couldn't believe how much fun we had on such a reasonably priced entry fee, we spent all day nearly and could have spent the whole day. The children loved meeting the animals but the outdoor and indoor play areas were a massive hit, with a dip in the water and play in the sand and an ice cream for the cherry on the perfect day cake! My children were between 3 and 15 and all had an amazing time with the whole family having a blast. After tiring them out playing I picked up some beautiful fruit cider and cheese and crackers at the farm shop for when they all slept like logs!

1 Stanley St, CarnforthCan’t go wrong with this chippy! The food is always cooked just right and served up nice and hot. Chips are lovely and fluffy inside, just how they should be, and the fish is excellent, flakey, fresh and full of flavour. Portion size is spot on, not too much and not too little, just right to leave you feeling satisfied. Service is quick and friendly, and for the price, it’s an absolute bargain. Proper tasty, cheap, cheerful and always worth coming back for more.
