We came in for a big family lunch, 9 people in total. Izzy was our waitress and she was just amazing. Had the table for ages, she was constantly checking in, topping up drinks. She was also great with my granny who has Alzheimer’s. She was just great.\nFood was lovely as usual, never had a bad meal at The White Hart.

I wanted somewhere a bit smarter to mark my wife's birthday, and this was our first visit to Armando's.\n\nNice ambience and cosy feel with log fire, but it was so dark where we were seated and I had to get my phone torch out to read the menu! Moreover a single low-level candle isn't really enough to see what you're eating, and looking at the chef's handiwork is part of the pleasure...\n\nThe food selection however was very much to our liking (we always check what's on the main menu before we visit any restaurant), although in the event my wife went for the specials. My vegetable risotto and swordfish main were both excellent; my wife's choices less so. She felt her crab starter lacked flavour because it was so chilled (but that's perhaps a tricky one from a food safety perspective!), but more particularly her large half-duck looked great but was tasteless and rather dry. We eat a lot of duck and I can vouch for the lack of flavour because I had some. Disappointing for her, as was the fact that we mentioned this to our server when the dishes were cleared but we were given no comment from the kitchen in response. Cost guide for starter & mains £40 to £45 ea.\n\nOn the face of it therefore this is a four star review, but because my dishes were spot on I'm happy to assume that my wife was just unlucky, and give Amando's the benefit of the doubt. \n\nThere are two main reasons for this. First, the background music was very much to our liking and played at an appropriate (ie discrete) volume. One can't please all the people all the time with music, and to please my wife in this regard is highly unusual! \n\nSecond, and perhaps most important of all, the [mostly young] staff were very welcoming, efficient and courteous, and had clearly been well trained, so well done to the management for focusing on these aspects.

Went here with 40% discount app, food was good , but in all honesty the 40%, discount bought the price to a reasonable level , the wine prices are an exaggeration, £9-45, for 175 mm is to me above the pale , the pub itself is really nice , in a lovely area , lovely staff , so a little extra is the expected , but in my opinion , and mine only, its taken its situ and ambiance a little to far price wise , so to conclude , it would not be a regular appearance for myself and company , only during 40% off eating , and a restricted drink , sorry but a truthful review

This Little Chip Shop really is a hidden gem. The chips are so light and fluffy and perfectly crispy. There are lots of homemade specials that taste amazing and take this chip shop to whole other level of excellence. The staff are helpful and very friendly, and the little sit in area has a really nice vibe, with art and good music.\nLeave the commercialism of Matlock Bath behind you and travel the very short distance to experience all that this alternative little chip shop has to offer.

We have eaten here twice in 5 days, (Wednesday and Sunday). On both occasions the food was very good and the staff were all friendly, helpful and made you feel welcome.The portion sizes are also good and both the sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie delicious.I would definitely recommend it and we will be eating here again.

An absolute gem of a restaurant.
Visited after booking at the last minute with my partner, greeted by welcoming staff the atmosphere was wonderful a rustic traditional country atmosphere set in an old barn.
The drinks menu is extensive and reasonably priced.
You pre order your food so the starter is delivered to your table quickly.
The food was tasty and good portion sizes.
We had the sharing cheesy garlic mushrooms it’s served with both white and brown bread to assist with the enjoyment of dipping the juice up.
I ordered the 16oz ribeye steak medium rare and that’s exactly what was served both well cooked and extremely tender and tasty. My partner had the fillet steak medium well and again cooked to perfection, both served with mushrooms tomatoes corn on the cob and skin on fries.
We followed this with dessert.
The whole experience was wonderful the food well cooked and enjoyable.
We will definitely be visiting again.

Visited on three occasions since reopening enjoying lunch on two. Salad dish superb and having added optional chicken was left feeling very satisfied. Chose Curry Bowl second lunchtime and considering it was all Veg, really filling and fantastic value . Nice surprise to find actual prices less than menu on website. As for the beer, tasted 3 fine ales all fairly priced. Whether you are drinking or eating it will not disappoint

Curry night for 7 family members.
Excellent attentive service and really good food.
One niggle, flat warm cola out of a massive bottle at that price was awful. At least put some ice in it or get a post mix.

Lovely little oldy worldy village type pub with a wierd name!
Friendly, helpful staff and.
Spotlessly clean and well maintained.
Excellent outdoor facilities to the rear, just right for soaking up the last of the summer sun whilst enjoying a nice cold beer.
Well worth a visit.
