Lovely hotel but just went for a walk and a Sunday roast. Very tasty and friendly staff. Dog friendly too with terrific woodland views. However, if you can't easily reverse up a steep hill or two, this road is not for you. Saw the panic on the less experienced drivers.
I stayed here whilst walking the South West Coast Path. It was excellent. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room (Woody Bay room) was delightful and the warm bath was perfect to rest in after a long days hike. I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and could take that at 8am which suited me as I was off to walk the next section. It was peaceful at night and bed was very comfy. A lovely little treasure of a find in National Trust area and walks. Had a very nice meal in here, and dog friendly. Nice garden too.Nearby activities: Lovely National Trust area with approximately 2 mile walk to a rocky cove and pretty river into the sea. Great carved trees in the gardens.
