We ordered curry and sides for 50 people the night before our wedding and were amazed at fantastic the food and portions were huge! Everything came neatly packaged and it was so much food we are still working our way through the leftovers from the freezer. We always order from Indian Ocean because their food is consistently delicious, we have never had a complaint in over 15 years as customers. The team are friendly and we are so grateful they were able to cater for our wedding on short notice. Highly recommend, best Indian in Exmouth!

We visited The Grove for a Sunday roast while on holiday in Exmouth and ordered two roast beef platters and two kids meals. The platters did not disappoint! The beef was delicious and tender and all of the trimmings were really tasty too, especially the cauliflower cheese and ox cheek Mac and cheese. Highly recommend!

As we do not have a Mexican Restaurant anywhere near our home so we were attracted to this restaurant purely for the experience. It turned out to be a very wise decision.\n\nAs we are not experts in Mexican cuisine I can’t say how authentic the menu is, but I can say that the quality was wonderful and the taste was excellent.\n\nThere was a good wide choice on the menu.\n\nThe service was very good and, despite not having many customers when we arrived, the atmosphere was very welcoming.\n\nWe will definitely be eating here next time we are staying in Exmouth.

We went as a family and were pleased to secure a reservation for our group of five in the indoor terrace on a beautifully sunny day. We were slightly concerned that the terrace might get too warm but with the windows open and that little bit of sea breeze it was perfectly comfortable and had fabulous sea views. Service was friendly and efficient, with the team quickly resolving a small delay on one dish (which was kindly taken off the bill). We pre-ordered the whole lobsters to take advantage of the £5 discount and they were excellent. All of the dishes were fantastic, there were plenty of daily specials to choose from and the unlimited chips are a bonus - especially when paired with the curry sauce!

Our first visit was on Sunday 5th October and what a fantastic renovation and use of space to make a rather quaint little restaurant taking advantage of the wonderful seafront views.

We went for the roast beef and the dressed crab for some lunch, both were absolutely delicious.

Came in today at around 12:30 with my mum and son for food, was treated warmly by the young lady behind the bar, found ourselves a set with the dog in tow and I went back up to order, once again was treated politely while ordering and although it was busy our food came within good time! The food itself was also very nice, we had the hunters chicken from the main menu, buttermilk chicken wrap from the lunch menu and the 3oz burger also from the lunch menu. We were checked back on to make sure our food was to our liking and then said goodbye to as we were leaving. Fine establishment with great staff and food, highly recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Swan Inn

A lovely if somewhat expensive pub in the heart of Lympstone.

The pub has a concrete front area where we sat to enjoy our meals and drinks. The inside was spotlessly clean and the service excellent.

We ordered the westcountry muscles and the burger. Both were served fresh and the chips were proper chips, which was nice to see.

The muscles were perfect and plentiful. An entire field of potatoes were sacrificed for the excellent chips and the burger was perhaps a bit thick for my liking, but I won’t let a personal preference detract. However, the whole burger experience was a bit … tall. The whole thing when assembled was about 20cm tall and not possible to eat with hands. That said, it was nice.

The interior of the pub looked lovely and if passing through again, I will definitely stop here for food. However, if I could improve anything, then perhaps the following small additions:

The red cabbage served with the burger didn’t taste great. Soapy, or similar. Perhaps a different acid / vinegar is needed.

The burger could have been pressed a little flatter. And some relish would have been nice, although by admission, I could actually taste the meat!

What a hidden gem!!! Tucked away in Greenfingers garden centre, this is a well-kept secret! I had a soup of the day; gorgeous homemade tomato and basil, with nice granary bread and a pot of butter. The devil’s in the detail, the bowl was warmed, so my soup stayed warm, giving me chance to savour the flavours and enjoy the surroundings. The cappuccino was a good size and full of flavour. A great find - I’m looking forward to returning, so that I can sample their all day breakfast on a Sunday.

Charging extra for plant milks (which don't cause climate breakdown or animal suffering) makes no sense & unfairly penalises vegans. Many cafes now offer one plant milk for free (often Sproud pea milk) while still charging for oat & soya. This could be a first step? ???

Aby’s has been a favourite to visit every summer and the quality and presentation of lunch has always been great. The ambience itself is lovely, and reflects the 28 years that the cafe has been open. Prices are a little on the steep side but as this is sit-in dining, and in the tourist-trap part of Exmouth, to be expected. \n\nWe ordered fish and chips, chicken burger and chips with drinks. The meals were nice, but what stood out was the excellent service. The team running front of house were pleasant and attentive. \n\nWhy only 4/5? I feel that when eating fish and chips, the condiments can make a difference. British chips by the seaside absolutely must be covered in salt and vinegar and ketchup (brown I suppose depending where you‘re from!). Unfortunately this is where Aby’s cut corners, supplying packets of cheap vinegar with little flavour and tomato sauce that would not pass the Heinz colour check. The salt was empty (swiftly replaced, but should have been done as a check prior to opening) and the brown sauce refillable bottle was blocked. There would have been no shame in relying on more expensive, but higher quality brands such as Sarsons and Heinz. \n\nThese are minor issues, but took the edge off an excellent lunchtime meal. However, the week is young and we’ll still be back again.

The portions were large and very well priced, haven’t found anywhere else in Exmouth as reasonable.
