Stumbled upon this cosy oasis on a cold, dark, wet evening, we were in desperate need of shelter and found the most accommodating little spot - the whole family & co. were incredibly friendly and welcoming.We had a table held for us without even asking because they thought we'd like to dry our clothes by the fire, and by jove they were right.It was the perfect stay I wish it were possible to give more stars, our soles and souls are warm again thanks to them.
Perfect Sunday lunch on a trip up from London today. Great service, food cooked to a very high standard. Puddings outstanding. Best roast potatoes in long time. And the very best of all - value for money to boot. Left even happier than when I walked in and I pretty happy before I ate a thing!

Best country pub I’ve ever been to! The roast dinner is absolutely the best I’ve had and the service is always so friendly and thorough. Gorgeous atmosphere especially in the main bar section with fires and lighting. We love it here!
