We enjoyed the most delicious dinner for my husband’s birthday. From being greeted when we walked in, to a final chat with Mark and Lewis as we left, we had a fantastic evening. The waiting staff were brilliant. It was a busy night, so they kept us updated if there was a delay. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The food was just perfect. What Tavistock has been missing for many years. A wonderful ambience, finally Taylor’s is back to, if not beyond, its very best.

We stopped by for a bit of food and were blown away by how incredibly friendly the staff were here. It is a simple, no-nonsense spot, but the service is genuinely world-class.

They actually gave us free drinks because they felt we had waited too long for our food—even though we didn't think the wait was long at all! It was such a kind, unexpected gesture that really showed how much they care about their customers. It’s a wonderful, community-focused establishment that makes you feel right at home. Highly recommended for families or anyone looking for great food and even better people. We will definitely be back!

We live about 20 minutes from Tavistock on Dartmoor where nobody delivers to. We have been a loyal customer to another takeaway for many years, however the quality of their food had gone down so we decided to try another. \n\nWe were not disappointed. The food from Thariks was absolutely delicious. My husband collected the food and commented to me how good the service was. I am very happy with the food quality from Thariks. It is my birthday and I chose to give Thariks a go. We will definitely we back.\n\nThank you Thariks for a lovely birthday meal!

Our first time here and we seriously intend to return!!
We came in just after 12:00 and were greated warmly and with humour into the bustling and lively cafe, with beautiful scents of delicious food wafting around. Our fellow diners were chatting happily and comfortably in the stylish and welcoming setting.

The staff were genuinely brilliant! We arrived just after the cutoff for breakfast but they were so kind and made a last minute traditional breakfast available, which was fantastic!

Definitely one to recommend and return to. Thank you!

Excellent place for a secret drink in Tavistock. Although slightly pricey, it is open to non residents. Didn't eat there but simply had a sneaky pint and a full on 5 a day Pimms after a trot around the meadows park .Colossal painting of Sir Walter Raleigh and Francis Drake flirting over Queen Elizabeth in the foyer is worth a look.Beer garden at the back is beautiful and great spot for a Cream Tea.Parking: A little tight but just behind is a great garden.

Freshly cooked battered haddock and chips to die for. Chips were excellent, not flabby or greasy and the fish was obviously very fresh judging by the flavour. Best I’ve eaten in the UK for years. Queue for service shows how popular they are locally!
Post script. Loved it so much I returned a few days later. Still superb!

This café in the market is a great place to stop for a meal, a snack or just a drink. Prices are great and the food is cooked fresh. We tried the fries with curry sauce and a Hawaiian sandwich. Both were excellent. Service is personal and quick. A second visit for a lite breakfast and ham, egg and chips was equally good. Highly Recommended

I wanted to take my Wife somewhere special for a 65th Birthday Meal and I definitely found it.
From Start to finish it was lovely.
The Receptionist was very welcoming and informative, we had called earlier to say we were going to be late due to the Tavistock roadworks and were told not to worry and she would inform the Staff.
We were shown to our table by Ellen who was a great Waitress and Host.
The View from the table out the window was beautiful, even though it was raining, the table was set so we could both look out the window.
The Prawn Starter was Excellent.
The Turkey Main Course was also Excellent and more on the plate than we thought there would be. One point to make would be that it could have been a bit hotter.
The Christmas Pudding Desert was a bit disappointing (another Point was that the Custard was poured onto the pudding in front of us without being asked).
The Younger Waitress was a bit rude when myself and my wife were talking with our heads close together and she asked if she could take the plates away and reached between us whilst we were still talking instead of going round the table to collect the plates, trivial but a little disappointing by the standards Ellen had set.
Another point was that a Service Charge was added to the Bill automatically without us being asked or informed.
We wouldn't have paid the Service Charge because of the points being raised.

Overall a great experience and meal, we will be coming back.

Hotel Endsleigh

Excellent. This hotel has set in wonderful grounds of 108 acres. Highlights, that I found included the rickety and it's little subterranean tunnel, the river Tamar walk, the parterre and shell grotto. All wonderful well thought out foci of interest. The hotel itself, I was not staying I was only visiting the restaurant, is a stunning building constructed I think around 1810. The car building with adjacent carpark has a wonderful reception with roaring fire and evocative wood panelling. The restaurant has lovely garden views and is suitably baronial in style. The food was solid. The starters were lovely but the main food was fine. The service was great and appropriate and you felt more than welcome. All in all a wonderful package.
