The White Horse Inn

We both ordered fish and it was superb - fresh, great quality and cooked perfectly. Everything we ordered was delicious and the service was friendly and efficient. We are already planning our next visit!

The Stur Of The Moment
Sturminster House, Bath Rd, Sturminster NewtonWe regularly have a fantastic breakfast here. But tonight we tried one of their theme nights - a pie night. I had a slice of chicken and leek, pork and apple, lamb and rosemary with all the trimmings. Honestly all were delicious but the lamb and rosemary was next level. Utterly sublime. Well worth the money so keep an eye out for future such evenings. Thanks Tracey and team!

The Plough Inn Manston
Sturminster Road, Manston, Sturminster NewtonFour of us booked for an evening meal. Well worth the drive through a torrential downpour. The welcome was friendly. Beer was great. Food excellent. Good quality and not overpriced. Two blue and one rare steak plus a veggie wellington. Not too much; just right leaving us room for some cheese , and cheesecakes. Service was top notch. Attentive without being in your face. Sorry I didn’t get the chap’s name but well done. The Cardinal test for me is ‘ Would I go back?’ Definitely - and we live in Sussex.

King's Stag, Sturminster NewtonWhat a great party we had in the Shooting Room -Denisa-(Owner) was so helpful and the waitresses were excellent and so was the food.
They also went the extra mile for one of my friends find a cheese dish for her sweet?.
Fully recommend this pub for food and parties ? plus lovely staff and Owners?

The Blackmore Vale Inn
Burton St, Marnhull, Sturminster NewtonGreat little pub a mate and I stumbled across, fantastic selection of beers and ciders. We haven’t eaten here yet but the menu looked excellent and the place had a great “Pub” feel to it. Will definitely be returning.

Pidney Hill, Hazelbury Bryan, Sturminster NewtonLovely little local with friendly and helpful bar staff. Nice selection of drinks and a good sized beer garden. Full size playground and play field over the road, which you can take drinks too. Don't expect alacarte food as it's not that sort of place. Nice simple pub classics , basket food and toasted sandwiches. My kids love their chicken n chips and of course the playground.

Dike & Son Supermarket, Ring St, Stalbridge, Sturminster NewtonAs always, friendly, efficient and very welcoming. Comfortable sofas and easy chairs as well as tables and chairs for eating at. Some had been reserved in advance. Great decaf coffee (& lovely mince pies - thank you!) And the sun streaming through the conservatory roof - though cannot promise that every time!

Oxfords Bakery
1 Market Cross, Sturminster NewtonWent for breakfast and the food was really good and a step up from just bacon and eggs. It was cold in there though so didn't feel you could relax. I was a bit disappointed as last time I went they had amazing custard donuts and sausage rolls etc that stood out but the bakery offering seemed quite run of the mill this time.
Parking: You have to park in the road with a one hour limit or up in the free car park by the Coop and walk down

Market Pl, Sturminster NewtonBeautiful location. Staff were efficient friendly and helpful. Rooms were great everything worked as it should. The building is quite old so if your looking for chic this isn't it. The rooms were comfortable and warm with quality mattress and bed linen. Foid here was good and the service was great. Everyone was friendly. The area is pretty. The Swan is somewhere I would definitely go to again

The Crown
Crown Rd, Marnhull, Sturminster NewtonPulled up on the Harley Dee on the way home to tonbridge from Cornwall. We were much happier staying in this pub than the one we stayed in for three nights in Cornwall. Great bedroom. Really nice evening meal and a fresh cooked to order breakfast. Proper pint.
