The Old Brewery Cafe and Kitchen

Lovely breakfast and initial service let down sadly when we asked for additional hot drinks to be told by the young man waiter it would take ages to make them so we didn’t bother. Been a while since we’ve been here and may be a while until we come back again after today sadly.

Rocky's Bar

Fantastic daytime pub, with amazing staff members and a really lovely retro games machine. Cheap drinks, good times and has a really lovely environment in the evenings, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. They also run a redtooth poker league on Wednesday and Sunday, with really competitive play.

Seafood Fish & Chips

Perfect every time, portion sizes are huge and way worth the money I pay everytime, I have never had a bad experience here and always enjoyed our food! Lovely staff, and always have a nice laugh when I come in here, makes my day with food and friendly staff.

Kebab.ji (Syrian Cuisine) Restaurant

What a joy to stumble upon this place! Its really like a pop up in village hall, serving amazing homecooked food by the couple who run it. We ordered a selection of authentic (and vegan) sides, and throughly enjoyed the meal. There was so much left, we had the leftovers for lunch the next day. One of the best meals of our holiday in the area!

Red Lion

Huge thank you to David for your hospitality. We had a lovely function and your staff were on hand and very helpful. Nice beer too. Shall be using your pub more often.

Lavender Blue Bakery

Lavender bakes did us an amazing cake at very last minute notice - it was so delicious and they were so helpful and accommodating. Some of my favourite cakes are from this place!

CHAN'S Chinese Takeaway

Best Chinese takeaway around, always delicious, good portion sizes and value for money.We spent over £50 for a group and got free mini spring rolls, free prawn crackers, free chicken satay portion and fortune cookies. Great added bonus!

The Phoenix

FOR some strange reason I have never been to Gillingham even though I live in Dorset. That was rectified recently when we decided to drive up and spend part of a day there. We visited the town's very good little museum and later had a meal in a cafe before we felt the need for a pint. With no knowledge we had to ask about local pubs and one resident recommended we try The Phoenix because it was a friendly pub where the beer was kept well. They were right on both counts with staff giving us a nice welcome and pouring me a pint which was as clear as crystal and very tasty. Fittings were simple and basic but the toilets were clean and well kept which is all you can ask of any pub you visit. Certainly we'd have no hesitation in coming back to the Phoenix when next we are in the area.

Viceroy Indian Restaurant SP8 4AP

Well I have discovered a new favourite at the Viceroy. The chicken tikka Bombay flame is an exceptional curry. Spiced somewhere between a madras and a vindaloo, the unique flavour of Naga chili pervades this beautifully balanced sauce. The baby potatoes are a delight and the curry is satisfying and leaves one feeling very content. Just add your favourite naan for a perfect meal - the price includes pilau rice.Rohim and the staff are friendly and helpful and I can recommend highly.Parking: There is both on street and council pay and display parking within a few yards

Bloody brilliant, small cafe but wow, the bloke took order quickly , the food was hot and tasty , the toilet , so clean I could eat dinner off floor will be back if ever back in

Used this Chinese for the forest time this evening and I have no complaints.The food was hot and tasty. The noodles in the chow mein were perfect and the sweet and sour had lots of juicy pineapple which is a bonus for me.Easy to order online and friendly service when collecting I couldn't really ask for more .Thank you for the freebies too .
