29 Fore Bondgate, Bishop Auckland2 families came together here before heading to Kynren. We parked over the road. Decent menu of pizzas, service was quick especially given how busy it was. All the staff were great and friendly.
Would highly recommend for something decent especially with kids.

Had vegetable chow main with fresh broccoli can’t get that anywhere else in this town and had black pepper chicken, sweet-and-sour Hong Kong style all the chicken was so nice not chewy or gummy at all Beautiful and had Fried rice was spot on. Popped in for our takeout this eve and even given a complimentary drink as I didn’t have cash on me and decided not to use my card again. I didn’t even know it had been put into the package until I discovered it when we got home as I thought it was just sauce pots.
Such a lovely thing to do and shows such good customer care as they didn’t have to do that at all, the small things really do matter. Thank you, whoever did that and sorry for not thanking you at the time (as I hadn’t realised).
I really don’t understand why this takeaway doesn’t have a higher score review wise!

The staff were very busy, so a barman seated us and he brought our drinks. We got 2 regular Sunday lunches with chicken,which included 2 big homemade Yorkshire puddings, 3 roasties, gravy boat, mashed potato, mashed turnip, mushy peas, cauliflower cheese, carrots and white cabbage. All beautiful and hot. Staff even came round with plates of extra meat for anyone who wanted it. I've never seen this done anywhere else! Now that's great customer service in my eyes. Staff were very friendly and polite. Even a young girl who was on her first shift was very friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure to eat here and we will definitely be back. Thank you so much.

We were welcomed at the door and pampered throughout the night, which made the visit enjoyable. For starters we had crackers with a warmed soy sauce and garlic dip. We also had a mixed starter, it was a taste of things to come . We had red curry green curry and sweet and sour beef and sweet and sour chicken. I tasted them all and they were delicious. The red curry was creamy with crisp fresh peppers and courgette.. amazing. The service was well timed, attentive for drinks and we met the chef who was an exceptional cook. Our new place to visit ..thankyou so much...think they do takeaway...bonus..

Fantastic service and warm and welcoming it was like I’d known them for years how they spoken to me.
Very busy day for the 2 people working they said and they still made room and time for us to have some drinks and food.
Lovely little local pub, the food was made with love and tasted great (lasagne, steak burger and carbonara bake) ?? everything was cooked to perfection.
Would highly recommend and will be going back 100%

Railway St, Bishop AucklandWent for the first time tonight, couldn’t get a table so opted for takeaway. Ordered the Brisket Sandwich and the Single Big Pig. The good bits - those chips are out of this world and some of the best we’ve ever had. The Big Pig was awesome, bursting with layered flavours. The bad bit - the brisket was quite dry and a little tough. Was sooooo looking forward to juicy soft melt in your mouth brisket but sadly not. Will we be back, hell yeah, might not have the brisket.

In common with all Sam Smiths pubs there's a notice prohibiting use of mobile phones inside. There's no WiFi. The prohibition is enforced with common sense and humour.

I've read reviews where someone had a bad pizza and wouldn't return and I SMH. We've had 1 average pizza in 20+ years and that's not anywhere near enough for me to criticise the place. The lads are great, not fly by nights and knock out great food for the hungry. We're lucky to have Figaro and luckier they deliver.

And it was absolutely BOSTIN!!!The man who was serving was ever so nice and smiley ?And the food quality is 10/10 especially for the price. Back home it would have been triple the price of what I had.If I’m in there area again I will definitely be coming back!!!Love it ❤️❤️

1 Saxon Grn, Escomb, Bishop AucklandWell what can we say, breakfast was spot on both times, greeted each morning with a friendly member of the team or chef who knew what we had ordered the night before. \n\nCheck in was seamless, the room (4) was great. Only issues were the wifi kept dropping out, the sink area was quite cramped and figuring out how to run the bath required assistance from a team member + a 45 minute wait for food the Sunday evening (food was nice). \n\nPerfect location for Kynren (which was great)\nAnd only a 40 minute drive to the beamish living museum. \n\nRoom was clean, we stayed for 2 nights and it was serviced too which was great (made bed and fresh towels, replenished coffee, milk etc)\n\nWill Definitely return if staying in the area again.

The place is small, clean and you can park outside. It is mainly cash payments but Eric will sort out a payment option if you only have card. If not there is a shop over the road with a cash machine. I recommend the breakfast sandwich

34 Park View Terrace, New Coundon, Bishop AucklandVisited here to celebrate my brothers birthday. 5 of us. Service was excellent and all staff were very friendly. I had corned beef pie, chips, peas and carrots. I have never seen a pie with as much filling. It was delicious. Our other meals were chicken à la king, mixed grill, sirloin steak and hot beef baguette. All were lovely and thoroughly enjoyed by all.

The red curry was creamy with crisp fresh peppers and courgette.. amazing. The service was well timed, attentive for drinks and we met the chef who was an exceptional cook. Our new place to visit ..thankyou so much...think they do takeaway...bonus..

12 Market Pl, St John's Chapel, Bishop AucklandCame here for food (after the kitchen was closed) and when I asked if they were still serving, they kept the kitchen open for the three of us out of the goodness of their hearts.
Fantastic service and warm and welcoming it was like I’d known them for years how they spoken to me.
Very busy day for the 2 people working they said and they still made room and time for us to have some drinks and food.
Lovely little local pub, the food was made with love and tasted great (lasagne, steak burger and carbonara bake) ?? everything was cooked to perfection.
Would highly recommend and will be going back 100%

The staff were all looking smart, working non stop al the time nothing too much trouble. Nice greet on arrival got showing to our table and sat there throughout one of the best Christmas Lunch. thank you to you all see you again soon.

Park Head Hotel & Oak Room Restaurant
13 Park View Terrace, New Coundon, Bishop AucklandAs 3*s go, this Hotel rates well. The rooms are big, bright, airy and spotlessly clean.
The Hotel is a mile or so walk, through the fields, from Bishop Auckland and the highlights of the Auckland Project (or 5 minutes drive).
Breakfast was good too.
The Oak Room Restaurant was great for our evening meal - good value and good food.

78 Front St, Sunniside, Bishop AucklandSunday lunch for 4 absolutely the best we’ve had for a very long time! Meats were mouthwatering, vegetables cooked beautifully and staff very attentive despite being very busy! Would definitely recommend! We’ll be back for the main menu soon!

Buon Appetito
8 W End, Wolsingham, Bishop AucklandCalled in for a light lunch mid afternoon and we were not disappointed. It was a glorious day and we sat outside amongst the beautiful flower arrangements. Isabel the waitress was extremely attentive and friendly, nothing was a bother and is a true asset to this wonderful place. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, there is also good parking to the rear. Well done Buon Appetito we will be back.

The Smokehouse
Railway St, Bishop AucklandWent for the first time tonight, couldn’t get a table so opted for takeaway. Ordered the Brisket Sandwich and the Single Big Pig. The good bits - those chips are out of this world and some of the best we’ve ever had. The Big Pig was awesome, bursting with layered flavours. The bad bit - the brisket was quite dry and a little tough. Was sooooo looking forward to juicy soft melt in your mouth brisket but sadly not. Will we be back, hell yeah, might not have the brisket.
