We asked for somewhere quiet and they were great even gave us are own room and decorated it lovely with birthday banners and balloons. Gemma was very helpful and brought colours and games to keep the kids entertained she was very polite and all the staff were great. Food was fantastic would definitely book again.

We had no idea, but were so pleased when the compelling two steaks (sirloin or fillet) plus bottle of wine offer was pointed out to us soon after we sat down. \n\nThe steaks were excellent, as was the peppercorn sauce, the chips, potatoes and other vegetables - all perfectly cooked. Service was engaging and the ambience enhanced by “webcam” coverage of Venice, not what we’d expected in Bishop Auckland! All in all, a memorable evening at a very fair price.

Always get a table, staff often help find a more suitable table as we sometimes have a pushchair with us or need a high chair. Always great customer service by the staff. Not sure of her name but a blonde haired lady is in particular a great asset to the team. Lots of parking, baby changing facilities. Feel very comfortable breast feeding there x

W Auckland Rd, Bishop AucklandThere was no one to greet but there was a clear sign giving good instructions as to what to do. Ordering food at the bar was straightforward and the staff member was courteous and friendly throughout. There was a little delay to food arriving due to the establishment being busy but this was communicated and apologies given. The food upon arrival was tasty and enjoyed immensely. A member of staff came to inquire about my food and whether it was enjoyable, he was friendly and not overbearing. All in all I would highly recommend this as a place for good food to eat.
Kid-friendliness: Has a play area for children where they can have fun and burn off steam.

Auckland Rd, South Church, Bishop Aucklandjust been to the Red Alligator,which i understand is under new management, we were celebrating our wedding anniversary,so.decided as it was under new.management to give it a go,we had the carvery,very.reasonable.prices,beef was.a.bit.rare.for.me,but.not a.problem chef had it.cooked.to my.liking,which in this.day is very good, medium meal is two meats and help yourself to sides, the.cauliflower cheese was AMAZING COOKED.PERFECTLY not raw.like.most places,all food was.fresh,you could tell, carrots were a little peppery for.me,but hubby loved.his.,there.was.also turkey,and.pork on the menu.highly recommend. give.this.new.management team a chance,you.wont be.dissapointed, we.will be back. Had vegetable chow main with fresh broccoli can’t get that anywhere else in this town and had black pepper chicken, sweet-and-sour Hong Kong style all the chicken was so nice not chewy or gummy at all Beautiful and had Fried rice was spot on. It’s 5 Stars for me and will be my new Go-to for Chinese food. The delivery man was just a sweet guy. Thank you lot I really appreciate your food I had no leftovers lol ? . Grateful ?

Popped in for our takeout this eve and even given a complimentary drink as I didn’t have cash on me and decided not to use my card again. I didn’t even know it had been put into the package until I discovered it when we got home as I thought it was just sauce pots.
Such a lovely thing to do and shows such good customer care as they didn’t have to do that at all, the small things really do matter. Thank you, whoever did that and sorry for not thanking you at the time (as I hadn’t realised).
I really don’t understand why this takeaway doesn’t have a higher score review wise!

Food was estimated to take an hour but only took 30 mins. Food was red hot. I burnt my fingers which is a good thing. Delivery driver was nice to my Dad who answered the door. Good service. Fantastic service and warm and welcoming it was like I’d known them for years how they spoken to me.
Very busy day for the 2 people working they said and they still made room and time for us to have some drinks and food.
Lovely little local pub, the food was made with love and tasted great (lasagne, steak burger and carbonara bake) ?? everything was cooked to perfection.
Would highly recommend and will be going back 100%

Isabel the waitress was extremely attentive and friendly, nothing was a bother and is a true asset to this wonderful place. The good bits - those chips are out of this world and some of the best we’ve ever had. The Big Pig was awesome, bursting with layered flavours. The bad bit - the brisket was quite dry and a little tough. Was sooooo looking forward to juicy soft melt in your mouth brisket but sadly not. Will we be back, hell yeah, might not have the brisket.

In common with all Sam Smiths pubs there's a notice prohibiting use of mobile phones inside. There's no WiFi. The prohibition is enforced with common sense and humour.

I've read reviews where someone had a bad pizza and wouldn't return and I SMH. We've had 1 average pizza in 20+ years and that's not anywhere near enough for me to criticise the place. The lads are great, not fly by nights and knock out great food for the hungry. We're lucky to have Figaro and luckier they deliver.

And it was absolutely BOSTIN!!!The man who was serving was ever so nice and smiley ?And the food quality is 10/10 especially for the price. Back home it would have been triple the price of what I had.If I’m in there area again I will definitely be coming back!!!Love it ❤️❤️

4b The Centre, Evenwood, Bishop AucklandA perfect little cafe. Food here is fairly priced and delicious. Eric is friendly and polite and always has a smile on his face. The place is small, clean and you can park outside. It is mainly cash payments but Eric will sort out a payment option if you only have card. If not there is a shop over the road with a cash machine. I recommend the breakfast sandwich

13 Park View Terrace, New Coundon, Bishop AucklandAs 3*s go, this Hotel rates well. The rooms are big, bright, airy and spotlessly clean.
The Hotel is a mile or so walk, through the fields, from Bishop Auckland and the highlights of the Auckland Project (or 5 minutes drive).
Breakfast was good too.
The Oak Room Restaurant was great for our evening meal - good value and good food.

Food was excellent and it was very quiet after 10pm so ideal when staying for business. 15 mins from Aycliffe business park. Beds comfortable and rooms spacious and clean. We had three rooms, all brilliant all guests had a great stay with a great night's sleep.
