Big Bite

orderd today 23rd of November at 11.45 was still sat waiting 2pm, delivery driver eventually turned up at 2:15. We sent him away with the food. we did speak to the owner on the phone she was very nice and apologised. hopefully next time we order we can actually try the food!

The Burn Pub & Kitchen

The burn is a fantastic local pub and kitchen with some very nice home home cooked food and a great atmosphere, it’s a dog friendly place too I highly recommend

Quick Panda Express

Absolutely unreal takeaway, it's the second time me have ordered from here and the food is amazing. Ordered 1/4 crispy duck, mini salt and pepper box, 2x Singapore fried rice, spare ribs and a large bottle of soft drink. It was all hot, fresh and flavoured to perfection and well worth the £45 including delivery. Staff are always really friendly on the phone and so are the delivery drivers, definitely a worthy of 5 stars.

Viva Restaurant Italian

Took our son for his 20th. Varied menu with good selection. Food was absolutely delicious, nice and hot, served quickly and really good prices. The staff were lovely and friendly. Very large starter and good size main courses.
Highly recommend the steak, we had it rare. It was very tasty and cooked to perfection!!
When they brought out the cake they played Happy Birthday and even joined in singing, which was a nice touch. Lovely evening. Relaxed atmosphere. First time we've tried here, will definitely go again.

Golden Fish Inn

Hot and well cooked food, friendly service and very clean. Plenty of choice and the kebab burger and the chips are delicious with very generous portion sizes for the price! Brilliant price for the food given and never disappointed

The Indian Cottage

It's probably the best Indian takeaway ive had in the past few years. food tasty and piping hot, even though we are 15min drive away.

The Fortune Palace

Only chinese I've ate and ordered from in over 10 year! Never had a bad meal the ribs are the best ribs about. I always stick to my same order so when I missed something off they rang so I could correct which was much appreciated. My family love trying new things from the menu. They are clean polite and outgoing. I'll simply give credit where credits due.

New Shanghai

We have been here a few times now and the food is really good. Everything comes out quickly, piping hot and delicious. We usually get some chicken dishes, Mongolian beef, hot and sour soup and dumplings. If you get there early enough on a weeknight they have a dinner special that is a really good deal (wish we could get this all of the time), but even without the deal the prices are reasonable. Crunchy noodles with sweet and sour sauce are complimentary to get you started. Service is always so friendly. The restaurant is casual, but clean and enough space to feel comfortable eating in there. They seem to have a really busy take out business also! We'll continue to come back. Thank you for offering such great food!!

Rain Flower

Amazing meal, plus all 4 teenagers really loved it. Arrived hot, polite staff. All meat was lovely ant tender, ribs the meat just feel off the bone.The duck and pancakes was best I've ever had, all round really enjoyed the meal

Just had a delivery garlic bread cheese and mushroom always perfect and a parno hotshot was huge, salad fresh and its always high quality food and lovely drivers, never disappoints ?

Parrano Pizza

We ordered a take away and it was delicious. What I didn't like was all the "add ons" on the price, the delivery service went double and we are so close to the place (next village) and also they charged us £1 for the online service... other than that, we liked it.

Lucky House Chinese Takeaway

Excellent customer service, very friendly and accommodating, if it's not on the menu the chefs are quite happy to make your food to order as you can see by my photo, extra spicy curry sauce with some fresh chillies ?

Best Kebabs

Used Best Kebabs for a while, chicken kebabs were to die for, still, but now an acquired taste....But they've started to Marinate the chicken different ?I personally don't like it, preffered it when it was just chicken chargrilled. So unfortunately going to have to look elsewhere.

Golden Fry Crook

We have been to Golden Fry few times now and we really enjoy it every time. The fish and chips, Pizzas , freshly made in house-sauces are really great.Best service , Amazing staff and management !!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian pizzas are very tasty.

I often get the 10" Donner Meat Calzone £6.70 when I dont want chips etc.

Parking: Parking directly outside is possible but causes traffic problems. There are a dozen marked parking bays behind the shop on Bridge End and one or more are usually free. If not its possible to park elsewhere in the back street.

The Duke of York Inn

Had a lovely meal for four — the food was very tasty, well-presented, and offered good value for money. The service was friendly and efficient, making the whole experience relaxed and enjoyable. Highly recommended ????

The Stags Head

No cask ale but Theakston keg ale which is very nice and the beer garden is really good.Under new management it's a great place. And I understand there is not enough foot traffic for cask ale. Very nice.

The Copper Mine

We had the most amazing experience at this local pub and restaurant! The food was absolutely outstanding — every dish was packed full of flavour, beautifully presented, and clearly made with so much care and attention. You can really tell they take pride in what they serve.

The staff were just as impressive — so friendly, welcoming and genuinely couldn’t do enough for us. Nothing was too much trouble, and they made us feel completely looked after from start to finish.

It’s so nice to have somewhere local that delivers both incredible food and exceptional service. We’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great meal in a lovely atmosphere! ⭐️

Perla nera is perfect for any occasion, celebrations or just a casual meal with friends or family. All of the staff are very polite and welcoming and the food is amazing. All our food had very generous portions and tasted amazing, thank you very much to all of the Perla Nera team for an amazing experience.

The Joiners Arms

A proper pub with a fantastic atmosphere! A family run pub with all of the attributes of a great night out, whether it be a quiz, karaoke, various street food vans every weekend, a darts, dominoes and pool league and a host that knows how to make a night entertaining. Good beer and even better craic, I've never had a bad night in the Joiners and I'm grateful to have such an establishment on my doorstep.

Stephenson’s Market Plaice

A fantastic meal only let down buy the price of a bottle of coke £2.90 is rather expensive as is £2.50 for mushy peas but other than that food was fantastic as were the staff will definitely be back

Cafe J's

Lunchtime snack turned into full plate. Baked potato with cheese savoury and salad. Beautiful. Also corned beef slice and beans.once again plentyful. This was recommended by a local as we stopped for coffee during pandemic. Second visit Would I recommend Definitely. Use council car park across road in square as parking restricted to half hour.

The Crown

Fantastic night out. Returned to Crook for a night out with some old friends & a great night. Its been several years since I'd been out round Crook & The Crown was one of my favourites. Cheers for a great night.???Wheelchair accessibility: To the rear of the pub is a ramped area which is easily accessible.

The Carriage

The most friendly servers so polite and friendly We just had the best Steak Pie with suet pastry on top. Just about to tuck into Treacle Pudding and custard. Would recommend to anyone who is visiting the area

Cracking traditional pub we found open on boxing day. I was relieved to find two local beers on the bar..
A large open fire, pool table, and dart board, perfect for a late boxing day pint..

The Surtess

The Surtees is a bar that I have occasionally visited over the past forty years. I returned recently to find that it had been refurbished in recent years to a high standard. I did comment on the tree branches across the walls and ceilings a touch that I loved. Staff were busy but kept serving in the correct order and we're friendly, the Coors lager was good but I have had a better pint elsewhere. The bar has always been busy, though narrow you can find space and the customer base is generally customers over thirty years of age in my opinion. So nothing has changed, Crook itself it seems, has survived the many closures of pubs over recent years and it is as good a night as ever, without having to travel to Durham, which is now very expensive.

Queens Head

Always a pleasure to provide a disco here. Very helpful staff. Nice atmosphere and large, very clean lounge for occasions. Very reasonably priced drinks always served very quickly. Thank you for having me. Atomix crook disco .

A reasonably sized pub seating approx 80 people comfortably. We attended for a fortnightly darts tournament on the Monday and were greeted in the main bar. The bar consists of 2 primary areas with a separate pool/darts room to the left and a stage area where karaoke and entertainment use on occasion. The bar is well lit, nice staff and well catered, even offering toasties and burgers of an evening. Outside has a large smoking area, under tent cover, and a games areas of outdoor ping pong.Really enjoyable atmosphere and good people. Will be there again as the tournament was really well run by Gary, landlord.

Amis Pizzeria

Ami has been here serving his amazing food for as long as I can remember, 18 years. Never have we ever had an unpleasant experience with him or his food, and we often find ourselves craving more! Thank you Ami for all the good nights in we've had enjoying your food. If I can recommend anything to someone reading this, it's to get in and try it yourself!
