We are here last night on quiz night. Great fun as usual, but the reason I'm writing a review is the excellent liver and bacon, absolutely delicious and good value. A good pub!

The Swan Inn

Really lovely pub.Food,service & friendliness couldn't be faulted.Gorgeous mushroom,spinach & Stilton pie & Ploughmans with more cheese than a deli on it.
We will be back.

Heathes Restaurant

We discovered a very decent and high-quality restaurant in Heathfield. Every single one of our orders was delicious and meticulously prepared, but my favorite was the Adana kebab. For dessert, we really enjoyed the baklava and Turkish rice pudding. We thank the owner, Mr. Ali , for his attentiveness and hospitality.

The Cock Inn

Had Sunday lunch here today with our son and daughter in law who have just moved to the area..we'd passed by once or twice but also had it recommended to us. I have to say the food and service were superb . We'll definitely visit again !

Lakeside Horam

I've really enjoyed all my visits to this cafe/restaurant, in Horam. As there's plenty of in door & out door seating. They offer an excellent selection of drinks, cake & desserts.
It's also a nice place for a short stroll around their fishing ponds.

Golden Rice Bowl

Amazing food the best Chinese in East Sussex by far!! The service was amazing phone answered by Ruby and she even gave us some extra prawn crackers and some fortune cookies on the house. Thank you guys

Butchers Hook Cafe

Great cafe went on sunday with friends,
The food was outstanding along with the staff ,clean & tidy cafe ,very reasonably priced ,plenty of parking all round great breakfast well worth a visit ?

UPDATE Monday 25/08/25 Le Marche weekend:-
I had 30 minutes before my bus was due across the road. I'm so glad to have had the opportunity to pop in here for a coffee and the most delicious croissant filled with chocolate and strawberries, topped with cream. The young man who served me was really pleasant and engaging and the young lady who brought the croissant to me and suggested a knife and fork to eat it with was equally so. This is a top place to go, without a doubt.

April 2025

My first time visiting here, I had a very warm welcome from the owner and her full attention, as it was close to closing time so there were no other customers. There is a beautiful selection of cheese and wine, I had a small selection of three cheeses, with crackers, everything was tasty and fresh. They have a wine tasting on the last Sunday of each month, a great opportunity to try the products.

The Half Moon Inn

Just had Sunday roast at this lovely pub. It was amazing, really home cooked and tasty. Generous portion sizes. Would highly recommend and we will be going back. Very good value too at £16.95 for roast dinner and a delicious home made pud.The staff were so nice and loved that the Landlord who is also the chef, came out to say hello and take our order. One very pleasant way to spend a Sunday lunch time.

We had lunch today for nine people in one of the pods in the garden everything about the meal was spot on !!!Good food which was served hotand delicious The Service was excellent ?Nothing was to much trouble for the two lovely girls that served usAbove all you sell my husband’s ale which doesn’t happen too often in pubs ? happy days ..well done it was a very nice lunch thank you

Bombay Spice

As always a lovely delivery from Bombay Spice. Nice family run takeaway and good food, has always been a relatively quick delivery and food is freshly cooked and hot still when it arrives.

The Brewers Arms

Took my Mum on a nostalgia tour for lunch on Wednesday. The food is absolutely superb,
Can NOT fault in anyway! There is a varied menu to suit most tastes. Wine is perfectly chilled. Excellent coffee. Even the napkins we of a fine quality! Meal for two with a little extra on the side, wine and 3 coffee's came to around £50. Most definitely a must visit for anyone.We are fortunate enough to have lunch out once or twice a week and this has been the best lunch that we have had this year. It has made No1 on our favourite list! We used to visit this pub 40 to 50 yrs ago. Was like stepping back in time. Dispite being an old building and timeless it is well maintained and clean. As anyone knows that reads my reviews, we always do a rest room check, its our thing...Spotless! We also noticed small details how even an everyday toilet roll had thought put into it and was pretty. The premises provide ample parking.
Staff and service absolutely spot on. Thanks for making the nostalgia day perfect. Oh and a bonus for dog owners its pet friendly, there was a dog there with another couple, we noticed he was provided with a clean bowl of water and the staff even offered him a treat with the owners permission.

The Runt In Tun

Fab walk along the cuckoo trail and then a nice pint and pizza here. Simple place with simple pizza but the simple formula always works! Staff were really friendly and more than happy to help and do what you needed them to do! Definitely recommend and return!

Piazza

We had a house special delivered to Mayfield, still piping hot, and one of the best kebabs ive ever tasted. The meat is always good quality, and cooked to perfection. Quantity is good too. This is the fifth time we've ordered from Piazza, the food is always excellent. Highly recommended. Thanks guys.

Volkan Grill

This food is brilliant really nice taste. Ordering was very easy. Delivery was brilliant ? definitely nice ? and even now I ordered tonight Sunday Aug 31 2025 perfect ??

Heathfield Tandoori

Got a takeaway for the first time tonight, walked up to the restaurant and ordered waited about 15 minutes and had a drink and chatted to staff who seemed really friendly, got home and food was really tasty will definitely be coming back and recommending to anyone else in Heathfield.

Taylors Fish Bar

Proper chippies made by a humble family. The recipe and techniques came from the previous owner who has now retired. The reviews, ratings, and queue speak for themselves.

They also have bulletin boards for local businesses to advertise on, as well as a pay-it-forward kind of scheme where paid for meals are given to the needy instead of pocketed. These are honest hardworking folk who give back to the community, I love them.

The Gun

A lovely, beamy, yet tastefully modernised pub with a huge grassy beer garden and friendly, super-efficient staff.
My boyfriend had the calzone which he said was amazing, I had the fish and chips which was unfortunately a bit soggy/ greasy. Generally though, we had a lovely evening here.

It’s so nice to go to a pub, made to feel welcome & sit back, relax & enjoy. The staff are always attentive & the food is great. Be back soon guys.

Sapphire Star

Really such a good takeaway ran by the most kindest people!! The food was amazing and I was craving more when i finished. Fresh and piping hot!! Quick delivery and overall really good service! Will be ordering soon again, maybe even when I host family dinners ??

Yaw's Kitchen

I have lived in many places across England and Scotland and this is my favourite local Chinese kitchen. The business is owned and run by a lovely young family. Honest prices and excellent portions! It's always a good day when I get to have something from Yaw's.

Curry Inn

I ordered from The Curry Inn and was really impressed. The food tasted great – fresh, flavourful, and well-prepared. Everything arrived on time, and the service was excellent. Highly recommend and I’ll definitely be ordering again!

Domino's Pizza - Heathfield

By far the best domino’s we have had. Always piping hot food, fresh and quick delivery. I would ignore any negative reviews as we can’t see any faults! Staff are all friendly, delivery driver is always great and they have never missed anything we ordered. They didn’t have an ice cream once but sent an alternative and offered money back if we didn’t want that one. Genuinely can’t find fault here, you know what you’re getting!

The Star Inn

Booked for Sunday lunch with my family and mother who has recently moved to this area. Best Sunday lunch ever. We were a party of 5 plus dog (although I accidently booked for 6 - sorry again) and all loved the pub, garden, food and service. I am told by my sister who has lived in the area for many years that since the new owners took over, the pub is excellent, and I agree. Will definitely be back for Sunday lunch when I next visit my mum.

Superstar

Recently did a Chinese comparison between Superstar and Yaw’s Kitchen, Superstar came out on top. Incredible mains, love the free prawn crackers and always reliable and dependable. Recommend the Singapore Chow Mein, so tasty :)
