Appreciated traditional British cuisine different from Fish&Chips ??Except for great dishes and very careful service, the atmosphere of this stylish and old pub was very pleasant.
We had dinner for two. It was quite excellent. A friendly welcome and taken straight to the table with a bottle of water. We shared some pickled anchovies to start and they were very good. For mains we had one venison and one pork cutlet. Both were superbly tasty and cooked to perfection. Service was just right - attentive when wanted but not intrusive. A lovely meal. The dirty burgers were delicious and my friend said her fish and chips were too.I had the peanut butter parfait for dessert which was very nice. As always the service was friendly and efficient. I always take visiting friends here and have never been disappointed.
