What a delightful, flavour packed and welcoming experience. On entering Muse I was surprised that at 7pm the restaurant was relatively quiet and the atmosphere was missing. However, 30 minutes into the experience the restaurant came alive with chatter, wine being served and food that just melts in your mouth. The venison was the best I’ve tried along with the lamb rump. To finish we had tarts and accidentally were served an anniversary cake ? but it was all good fun ?. I highly recommend and will be visiting for Sunday roast ?

The whole experience was just wonderful. We had the two course meal and were blown away with the flavours and quality of ingredients. The starters of tuna steak and chicken chaat were stunning in presentation and extremely tasty. The mains were just as good Railway Lamb and Beef Karachi, rich flavours with extremely tender meat. We also received complimentary extras in between course which was a lovely touch. So the food was wonderful but the service we received from the young lady was absolutely superb, you couldn’t get better. Thank you.

Ordered the rare roast beef, it was like two large steaks, vegetables were good. Originally booked back in June to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary, however we had to cancel due to illness. We rescheduled for September, and we are glad we did. This is our third visit over a number of years, so we had a good idea what to expect. The tasting menu is so imaginative and surprises every time with the food combinations, a lot of thought obviously goes into the planning and preparation. We thoroughly enjoyed all the food and the extremely informative description of each course provided by the front of house staff. Thank you for a great evening.

We came to The House In The Tree for a meal Mother's day 30th March 2025 . It was my husbands 60th birthday and there were 20 of us. Well what can I say. The staff were amazing and attentive, nothing was too much trouble and they were all genuinely friendly, happy people and it was so busy. The coffee is always excellent, and the food is consistently spot-on. While the menu is simple, it’s clear that everything is done with care and intention. They know their strengths, and they stick to them — delivering quality time after time.

You also have to consider the limited space they’re working with, and for that, the range and thoughtfulness of the menu is really impressive. There’s something for everyone, and it’s always fresh and satisfying.

After eating the delicious food at Daphne restaurant, we knew we wanted to use them to do a Mediterranean barbecue feast at our wedding. We love their fresh salads, yummy kofte and aubergine shakshuka. They did a spectacular job at our wedding with many guests coming back for seconds and thirds saying it was the best wedding food they'd ever had. They offer so much variety - from borek to vine leaves to chicken and rice dishes. Ilhan and Funda are so kind and calm and friendly and we cannot thank them enough for helping us on our special day and making sure all our favourite food was on offer. We will be back soon!

This cafe is a sort of Cheltenham institution, but I've only visited once before many years ago...until today. Decided to stop for brunch with my friend, we're both visiting after moving away several years ago. The outside area is lovely and well sheltered from the weather. The menu has some delicious-sounding options which made picking food quite tricky! I'll have to come back to try a couple of other options.
Yummy omelette, not greasy, packed with ham and mushrooms. The baked beans and hash browns on the side were great too. Proper fresh mint tea to go with it.
My friend loved his jacket spud. Really good value too.

Absolute Gem of a coffe shop. If I’m anywhere near I make a special journey to have one of the guys make my coffe. They are meticulous with how it tastes and if it isn’t up to their standards when they inspect it then they re do it before it even gets the milk. I can’t speak highly enough of the quality of what they are doing here. Very lucky to have them in Cheltenham. Been in on a quiet morning too and if you want to work your welcome to, or if you want a chat they talk to you. Everything a coffee shop should be.

Had a lovely time at this great little teashop just off of the main thoroughfare. Very lucky to find this place with super staff, great food and great prices. Going to Bourton on the Water can often feel like a middle class mugging, but this was a great experience. We will happily return.

This Italian restaurant is fantastic! The staff are friendly and caring and the food is delicious with excellent value for money.

My son loves the kids’ pasta and pizza calling them “delicious” and far better than typical fast food menus! Homemade style and perfect for kids who enjoy real food.
Don’t miss the tiramisu for adults and the zeppole (Italian doughnuts with custard) for kids both are amazing! One of our favorite restaurants and my son and his friends love it too. Highly recommend!

Royal Oak

Whilst camping locally, I asked the campsite owner for a good spot to watch one of the Lions rugby matches, and she recommended The Royal Oak — what a brilliant suggestion!

There were nine of us (plus a baby) in the group, and we were seated together around the fireplace at the front of the bar. It was the perfect setting, and we all enjoyed a hearty breakfast while watching the game.

The hospitality was warm and welcoming, the breakfast superb, and everything was washed down with some fine ales (and a fair bit of coffee and tea too!).

A fantastic atmosphere, made even better when Jac Morgan played — to the delight of the Welsh bar lady serving us, especially after his crucial jackal that may well have saved the game!

Highly recommend The Royal Oak for both the food and the friendly, rugby-loving team.

We attended a family member’s wedding celebration here and it was fantastic. Such a great relaxed place for a get together. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. The function room is perfect for large and medium sized gatherings and was decorated beautifully. Buffet food was excellent.

Came here for a birthday meal the food was 10/10, very quick to be served our drinks,starters and mains and the food was out of this world ?. My only couple of things that I didn't enjoy were my main meal came out within minutes of the starters being put on the table so by the time we ate our starters the mains were warm and not hot, then once we had finished the lady serving was in a hurry to get us gone although we wished to have another drink you could tell it wasn't wanted to be made by them. It was very busy with walk ins and bookings and they were happy to accommodate both. Really did enjoy it though and would definitely go back and recommend to people

Everything is 5* about this lovely, quaint restaurant. We have eaten several times both sitting in and takeaway. The restaurant is cosy and the service is fantastic, the staff are so friendly. And the takeaway is always beautifully hot when we get it home, and we live 20 minutes away. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious Thai meal! Ps it’s competitively priced!

Different prices for the same drink each time, drinks not tasting of anything or bitter, queues as long as your arm.There finally seems to be some order over the last few weeks, the quickest I have ever been served here and that seems to be down to the new Manager Kyle. Wow… what a great find! We tried Lakeside for a Friday night Fish & Chip treat for my birthday. Having looked at the Google rating and reviews I decided that this may be a good option being closer to us than some of the other Fish & Chip takeaways in the Cheltenham area.

I called ahead to ask if a pre-order was possible and had a very cheery and professional lady take my order for collection 15 minutes later.

Upon arrival there was a huge queue stretching out of the door which to me was a great sign of what we could expect for our fish supper. As I made my way to the counter to explain that I had a pre-order everyone else was chatting about the quality of the offerings from this shop.

As I waited I noticed that the ‘Fryer Man’ was asking people in the queue if they needed anything cooking as they moved down the line. I thought this was a great touch and ensured less waiting in the long run.

I gave the lady my order number and she proceeded to make my order up there and then… no sitting in a bag getting soggy here!

After paying a very reasonable amount for three fish and chips plus trimmings we were in for a great treat.

The haddock was amazing, crispy batter and such tasty fish inside. We ordered two large chips between us and they were huge and really yummy. Mushy peas and curry sauce were also top notch!

All in all, amazing quality, super service with very friendly and efficient staff… such a great find in the Hatherley locality… go there… you won’t be disappointed. We will be using Lakeside as our go to Fish & Chip shop now! Thank You! ?

Shame about the deliveroo driver trying to ruin your evening, but since that's not to do with you I haven't altered my score in any way, wouldn't be fair.
