What a delightful, flavour packed and welcoming experience. On entering Muse I was surprised that at 7pm the restaurant was relatively quiet and the atmosphere was missing. However, 30 minutes into the experience the restaurant came alive with chatter, wine being served and food that just melts in your mouth. The venison was the best I’ve tried along with the lamb rump. To finish we had tarts and accidentally were served an anniversary cake ? but it was all good fun ?. I highly recommend and will be visiting for Sunday roast ?

First time visiting the Sandford Park Alehouse for a roast dinner on 13th July with my daughter. Seriously did not disappoint. Ordered the rare roast beef, it was like two large steaks, vegetables were good. My daughter had the nut roast which she says is usually a hit and miss with restaurants but she said it was really good. Great staff. Would recommend 10/10

The only sour note was the food was served in sturdy recyclable cardboard containers sensibly lined with greaseproof paper to stop them from getting soiled, recyclable plastic cutlery, and recyclable plastic cups. I confidently expected these all to be recycled, but at the end of the meal I saw the proprietor stuff them all with the leftovers into a black landfill sack. Such a disappointment.

We came to The House In The Tree for a meal Mother's day 30th March 2025 . It was my husbands 60th birthday and there were 20 of us. Well what can I say. The staff were amazing and attentive, nothing was too much trouble and they were all genuinely friendly, happy people and it was so busy. An unexpected treat. Lunchtime, and we noticed the menu board with a rather different offering, not the usual sandwiches or soup but a rather grown up, sophisticated choice of small delights. Small, it said so we ordered three plates between two of us, very greedy and really too much, but we managed every delightful mouthful.
A pot of boar pate, a tin of anchovies and a plate of the silkiest hummus I have ever had. Loads of wonderful focaccia, lightly toasted, a pickled red cabbage, cornichons and caper berries. Stunning. Served simply, honestly and perfect.
Aperol Spritz and a bottle of beer. Elegant surroundings, good music. Thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you.

I’ve been coming to this little gem for years, and it continues to impress me every single day.

The staff are genuinely lovely — warm, welcoming, and attentive. Even though they see me almost daily, their service never falters. There’s no complacency here; they take pride in what they do, and it shows.

The coffee is always excellent, and the food is consistently spot-on. While the menu is simple, it’s clear that everything is done with care and intention. They know their strengths, and they stick to them — delivering quality time after time.

You also have to consider the limited space they’re working with, and for that, the range and thoughtfulness of the menu is really impressive. There’s something for everyone, and it’s always fresh and satisfying.

They truly deliver on all fronts — great coffee, great food, lovely people. It’s the best part of my day, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly. ❤️

Myself and my partner stayed in Stow this weekend just gone. We went to Off the Square on Saturday and Sunday. The atmosphere was lovely, a great craft beer place but also plenty of options for those who don't fancy a beer. The guy who was working there on Saturday was really friendly (sorry we can't remember his name). Seabass who was there on Sunday was also brilliant and really friendly too. Ended up buying some beers to take home with us too. Hopefully will visit again in the near future.

I make it my business to come here every time I'm in Cheltenham, the food is cooked with soul and has been consistently delicious for over a decade that I've been eating here. The tofu dishes and eggless fried rice are a vegan dream. You won't regret a trip here if you love top notch Chinese food! They're a wonderful addition to the food scene here and I hope to be eating my favourite dishes for many years to come.

This cafe is a sort of Cheltenham institution, but I've only visited once before many years ago...until today. Decided to stop for brunch with my friend, we're both visiting after moving away several years ago. The outside area is lovely and well sheltered from the weather. The menu has some delicious-sounding options which made picking food quite tricky! I'll have to come back to try a couple of other options.
Yummy omelette, not greasy, packed with ham and mushrooms. The baked beans and hash browns on the side were great too. Proper fresh mint tea to go with it.
My friend loved his jacket spud. Really good value too.

Whilst camping locally, I asked the campsite owner for a good spot to watch one of the Lions rugby matches, and she recommended The Royal Oak — what a brilliant suggestion!

There were nine of us (plus a baby) in the group, and we were seated together around the fireplace at the front of the bar. It was the perfect setting, and we all enjoyed a hearty breakfast while watching the game.

The hospitality was warm and welcoming, the breakfast superb, and everything was washed down with some fine ales (and a fair bit of coffee and tea too!).

A fantastic atmosphere, made even better when Jac Morgan played — to the delight of the Welsh bar lady serving us, especially after his crucial jackal that may well have saved the game!

Highly recommend The Royal Oak for both the food and the friendly, rugby-loving team.

Came here for a birthday meal the food was 10/10, very quick to be served our drinks,starters and mains and the food was out of this world ?. My only couple of things that I didn't enjoy were my main meal came out within minutes of the starters being put on the table so by the time we ate our starters the mains were warm and not hot, then once we had finished the lady serving was in a hurry to get us gone although we wished to have another drink you could tell it wasn't wanted to be made by them. It was very busy with walk ins and bookings and they were happy to accommodate both. Really did enjoy it though and would definitely go back and recommend to people

What a Turkish delight we have here. I came here with my two sisters for an evening meal and we'll definitely be going back again.

The staff were all very welcoming, greeted us with a smile and always on hand to help or check how the meal was going.

Then there's the real star, the food. The menu has a lot of wonderful options and having a small plate or main plate option is a great way to get a taste of the menu or for those with a smaller appetite.

Wow… what a great find! We tried Lakeside for a Friday night Fish & Chip treat for my birthday. Having looked at the Google rating and reviews I decided that this may be a good option being closer to us than some of the other Fish & Chip takeaways in the Cheltenham area.

I called ahead to ask if a pre-order was possible and had a very cheery and professional lady take my order for collection 15 minutes later.

Upon arrival there was a huge queue stretching out of the door which to me was a great sign of what we could expect for our fish supper. As I made my way to the counter to explain that I had a pre-order everyone else was chatting about the quality of the offerings from this shop.

As I waited I noticed that the ‘Fryer Man’ was asking people in the queue if they needed anything cooking as they moved down the line. I thought this was a great touch and ensured less waiting in the long run.

I gave the lady my order number and she proceeded to make my order up there and then… no sitting in a bag getting soggy here!

After paying a very reasonable amount for three fish and chips plus trimmings we were in for a great treat.

The haddock was amazing, crispy batter and such tasty fish inside. We ordered two large chips between us and they were huge and really yummy. Mushy peas and curry sauce were also top notch!

All in all, amazing quality, super service with very friendly and efficient staff… such a great find in the Hatherley locality… go there… you won’t be disappointed. We will be using Lakeside as our go to Fish & Chip shop now! Thank You! ?
