We came to the Havester in Bromley today with our Grandad and family, we had beautiful food which we all thoroughly enjoyed and our Waitress Michelle was delightful. Upon returning home we realised my Grandad had lost his wedding ring of 70 years, we called up to ask if it had been handed in and amazingly it had. We went and collected it straight away, the lad behind the bar had cleared our table, found it and kept it safe. I didn’t catch his name but I cannot express how grateful I am to that kind honest man. Will definitely be returning, thank you again.

We just keep coming here again and again all the time for its Indian food. The food is 10/10 here but the service is slow as they don’t always have staff to cater. Despite that the food is amazing and the atmosphere is very welcoming & friendly including the owner/staff. They all get involved. To give it a kick music is playing in the back and it creates a lovely ambience to your meal. On your birthdays, a presentable turban comes out makes you feel like a ‘King’ look & don’t hesitate to come as a group & sing happy Birthday. We ordered a takeaway from Papadum last night and went for a vegetable Dhansak for the first time and we were blown away by the flavour. It’s one of the best dishes we’ve had from any takeaway of late. They gave us extra popadoms which we hugely appreciated, and the coconut was made beautifully. We got five dishes for a great price. The only surprise was the courgette bhaji because we were expecting a fried courgette like an onion bhaji with tempura batter, but we have since learned it can also mean a curry. Thank you for a wonderful meal, swift delivery and great value for money.

On Saturday (22/2/25) we took our 2 very young granddaughters for lunch at Wagamama Bromley. They both really enjoyed their visit, as did we. Papayaya is an outstanding Asian restaurant with one of the biggest menus I’ve ever seen – the choice is huge! The chef is absolutely amazing – he’s also one of the owners (together with his partner, who also runs Rita’s Café). He’s an experienced gentleman, and he cooks everything with such skill and flavor – truly restaurant-quality food, every single time.

I’ve tried many dishes here – the soups (large portions!), different types of noodles (I usually go for the gluten-free rice noodles), and everything I’ve had has been simply delicious. I like the new dish Ho-Fan in black bean sauce which is really tasty. Honestly, one dish is better than the next – you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

Their opening hours are very convenient: they serve lunch from 11:30 to 2:30pm, close for a short break, and reopen at 5pm until 10pm (closed on Mondays). The food is always fresh and full of flavor, perfect for dining in or takeaway.

If you come with a friend, I recommend ordering a pot of lemongrass tea – they serve it in a big teapot, and it’s so refreshing and tasty. The service is excellent too – the staff are always attentive, quick to clean tables, and genuinely kind. Every time I come, I leave happy, full, and satisfied.

I even came once with a headache – they served me hot tea and delicious food, and I left feeling so much better. That’s the kind of warmth and care this place gives. The customer service is outstanding, which is rare and makes this restaurant really stand out.

Highly recommend Papayaya – you won’t be disappointed!
