1 The St, Chipperfield, Kings LangleyFood was fabulous but service was lacking and we had to remind them about our drinks and other things. It took a while to get our meal but in the end it was worth the wait. I would highly recommend the food but make sure you have plenty of time to spare.

The Unicorn Pub
38 Gallows Hill, Abbots Langley, Kings LangleyOne of my local pubs. Popped in for a toasty and a drink a couple of weeks ago in their dining area. Service was great and I thoroughly enjoyed my toasty. I have also visited this pub regularly in the past to watch live sport as it has a number of TV screens. The building itself is also beautiful, not sure when exactly it was originally built but there are pictures on the wall of the pub surrounded by fields (almost impossible to imagine now!) so it's quite a historic pub too.

Quickmoor Ln, Common Wood, Sarratt, Kings LangleyAbsolutely sublime food, super welcoming friendly staff and chef/owner. Never had a bad meal there, only great ones! A real gem of a find. Dropped 1* as the WC facilities are seriously in need of a total overhaul and doors leading to and from them and the premises could do with a good clean - not enough to put me going there but just saying!

Three Piece Events
277 High St, BerkhamstedAlex heads a polished team of professional, friendly and expert mixologists and bar staff. We used them for our NYE party and were blown away by their geniality and efficiency. No job was too small, and they were ready to adapt to any scenario with enthusiasm and skill. Our guests all commented on them very positively, saying how lovely they were. The cocktails themselves were absolutely delicious - also commented on by all - and the full measures of spirits going into them didn’t go unnoticed. Many people said how strong they were in comparison to many that you get elsewhere. And the flavours were interesting, unusual and indulgent. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Alex and his team. If you’re thinking about hiring them, go for it and you won’t be disappointed!

Blackwell's Chipperfield Ltd
10 The Common, Chipperfield, Kings LangleyStopped in for a hot drink after a walk in the woods. The young girl who served us was very polite and efficient. The bloke taking the money, who I assume might have been the owner, had about as much personality as one of the residents in the graveyard opposite.
The place itself is pretty good and dog friendly, and the drinks were nice. We might give the food a try next time.

Sweet as a Button
36 High St, Kings LangleyAnd old Chemist's shop front, beautifully re-used, on the lovely Berkhampstead main street.
It's en-route to my car fixits, so I pulled into the blue badge space outside (it being clear, was a help) and went in.
There are a goodly few lines but the Big Story is the £1.40 (May 2026) Pic&Mix.
It's a huge selection of every kind of jelly you ever heard of, and some you didn't, plus a host of white and pink chocco-candy mice, buttons amd domes. I was improbably controlled and only got around 200g. Foam Bananas, choccy raisins, raspberry ruffles, mini Daim bars, strawberry pencil chunks!
Just as well, as this is bit of a drive for me!
The folks running the place were friendly and said to come again soon, as I toddled off happily.
100% would recommend. Taste your choldhood!

The Smoky Grill
The Unicorn Pub, Abbots Langley, Kings LangleyMy friends and I popped in here before our trip to the Harry Potter Studio Tour this weekend. This lovely pub was recommended to us on a Facebook post by studio tour staff. Foolishly we rocked up without a reservation in two separate groups to find the pub fully booked, but the landlady was so accommodating and found our party a table. The first lot eating before the second lot at a table reserved until a certain time, then when the others arrived we moved to a bigger table so they could also eat whilst the others had drinks. The staff especially the landlady were so accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. we were so grateful for them squeezing us in, even feeding us in two sittings. The food was amazing! it was quick friendly service, a very lovely menu of traditional pub food and when it arrived it was piping hot and massive in portion size. I had a ham and cheese toastie with chips and a side salad and it filled me up from 12pm until 8.30 when we left the studio tour! We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and couldn't thank the staff enough for fitting us in, we shall definitely be back at some point. If you are in the area, do give this pub a try as you won't be disappointed....but booking is definitely recommend! Thank you so much!

Fred & Ginger Coffee

Much closer to an Italian coffee bar experience - no grande mega sized caramel covered nonsense here, just straightforward quality coffee. Friendly lady with ponytail is at the helm most mornings. She even filled up my coffee card when I forgot it previously ?

Tower Hill, Chipperfield, Kings LangleyPopular cafe within the garden centre with decent selection of snacks , meals & beverages.
The indoor seating area allows for a section where you take your dog - or in our case Parrot. Small seating area outside , too but still under cover from the elements.

Premier Inn Kings Langley hotel
37 Hempstead Rd, Kings LangleyStayed one night in late November 2025. As had a day at Warner bros Harry potter studio tour. Was an ideal location for that as approx 10 - 15 mins from the hp tour and there are several tube stations not too far drive away. Watford/moor park etc. So ideal if visiting London the following day etc. Hotel was clean. Reception and checking in and out was a pleasant experience. All good overall. Would stay again.

Kings Langley Fish Bar
11C Hempstead Rd, Kings LangleyGenuinely some of the best chips I have ever had, fluffy yet crunchy - delicious. Week after week the standard remains high, I wouldn't go anywhere else. Staff are always so friendly and efficient, met with a smile every time I go in. Great menu selection, even for vegetarians. Long may this be our Friday night treat.
