Marine Rd, Walmer, DealThis is a little hut of paradise. Everything and anything food wise is absolutely delicious and top quality. I had the porridge this morning with spiced plum compote and honey. It was just gorgeous. A cherry blonde was crunchy and chewy and full of flavour. You really can't go wrong. Sausage rolls stuffed full. Great coffee. Eat and sit and watch the blue sea .. Heaven!!

192 Mill Rd, DealI’ve tried every pizza shop in deal. By far these boys do the absolute best pizzas. Fresh dough every day unlike some places the customer service is 10/10 they go the extra mile especially when I come in with my daughter. They all make the effort to say hello to her which I love :)

The Thompson Bell, 335 Dover Rd, Walmer, DealWe are there Friday 28th November and had the Sourdough burgers. The were delicious and so much food. Best chips and onion rings. We ate there again today, Sunday 30th November 2025 and both had roast beef / turkey. There was so much food and the fastest roast we have had at a pub. The service is very friendly. The value for money is great with everything priced just right, the pub is not being greedy and for the quality of food we couldn't have asked for more. I would highly recommend this pub.

42 Queen St, DealWent there today to attend a wake..I admit it's been a couple of years since I was last in there, due to the fact im a volunteer Barman at the Royal British Legion social club in Market St. Also my local is the Farrier which I love and a good Twenty minutes away. I visited it today as I said for a wake. Have to say the new management have certainly got the right staff, very young but absolutely old school in their greeting of customers and service. I have no complaints at all. Thank you to all the staff..

Very family friendly, the lovely waiter gave our kids lollypops at the end of the meal. Such great prices and generous portions. We were all so full by the end!

51, 53 Beach St, DealWhile the food was good and we were served generous portions, the service was poor from the start.
We had to wait about 15mins for someone to take our order, and another 40mins or so for our food to arrive (after we complained and said we were ready to leave, the food was suddenly ready). We were served the dish from another table and the bill was wrong (we were charged for drinks we didn’t have).
When we asked if they would compensate for the late and poor service, they blamed the fact that it was busy (Thursday night) and everyone was in the same boat. Not even an apology nor even a symbolic gesture to acknowledge that we received poor service and an underwhelming experience.
Shame really because the food was good enough.
While the restaurant is well situated near the sea side with great parking, I would say the restaurant itself looks run down and not so welcoming.
There’s a lot for the owner to improve on to make this a place with potential.

37c Cannon St, DealLiterally one of the best meals of my life. And I’ve eaten at The Fat Duck; I’ve eaten at the French Laundry; I’ve spent $900 on a meal for two at Atelier Crenn. This is comfort cooking at its very finest. We were delighted to end up at this place having been turned away from two pubs incredulous that we hadn’t made a Sunday lunch booking for early May Bank Holiday weekend. Such a contrast at Engel’s to be greeted warmly and assured that food was still being served at 2:30 pm. The constant stream of regulars gave a hardly needed reassurance that this is a place doing something right, a place that people want to come back to again and again, a place that makes people feel at home. And the food. My god the food. Herring in cream sauce was fishy and pickly and creamy all at the same glorious time and served on that dark and mysterious Polish bread that makes everything it touches even more delicious. A kielbaska was a veritable monument to Polish cuisine, piled high with crunchy, tangy toppings. And the schnitzel was the pinnacle of this magnificent meal. Is there a better trifecta than beetroot, horseradish, and fried pork? My parting piece of advice: when offered a choice of potatoes, get the sliced, fried, baby potatoes and onions. My mouth is watering just thinking about these sensational unctuous morsels. Go to Engel’s. Take the family. Take the dog, who will be made to feel equally at home. What a revelation.

27 The Strand, Walmer, Deal6 of us popped into this cafe on Saturday, staff and food were amazing. We sat in the courtyard and was very relaxing. Just want to say sorry we were late out. We didn't realise you closed at 2pm, staff brilliant about it and didn't say a word.

Quite open at the front bar with lots of standing space, one or two tables, TV screens showing sport but very pleasant conservatory room at the back with tables and chairs. I was there for a quiz - very enjoyable - and the Stag staff were very hospitable. Nice loos.

Chef was off sick, so they where offering a limited menu, but the limited menu was better than what most places have on a regular basis. I would highly recommend the steak and kidney pudding, it was delicious. The burgers looked amazing, and according to my daughter tasted fantastic. The steaks was also very tender. Staff couldn't have been nicer, chatty, helpful and the whole placed had a lovely atmosphere. So glad we visited. Hoping to return as soon as possible. Thank you for having us.
Update... We returned the same week, on the Sunday for a roast. 8 of us, clean plates all round.
I wished I lived nextdoor to this pub... I would never cook again ?

Upper St, Kingsdown, DealLovely pub,lovely homemade food. Owners very friendly. Very tentative and nothing was too much. Reasonable priced food and drink. I had the fish and chips. The fish was delicious with homemade starter sauce. Limited menu but enough to satisfy most people, and booking is recommended.

187-189 Middle St, DealThis was the first time my husband and I had Sunday lunch at The Prince Albert, and I’m delighted to say it was absolutely delicious ? The service was attentive and warm, and the food fantastic. The crispy prawns were fresh and very tasty, and the roast pork was an absolute triumph! It came with masses of wonderfully cooked vegetables and a jug of piping hot gravy. Sadly we didn’t have time to have dessert, but we definitely will next time. A superb Sunday lunch in delightful surroundings including the most fantastic crackling log fire. We will most definitely be back!!

15 The Marina, DealA cracking little find at The Forester — proudly owned by five women and full of charm. We were just passing through on our way to the Dover ferry but always prefer to spend our money in independent spots, and this didn’t disappoint. Warm welcome from the off, great value, and a proper friendly atmosphere — locals included (no American Werewolf in London vibes here).
Honestly, I’d come back to Deal just for this pub and The Lane Cafe alone.

2 Stanhope Rd, DealWe were recommended this restaurant by the hosts of our Airbnb. Any other time i wouldn't have given it a second look but i'm so glad we went.
Dinner was really good. Three pizza's and a meatball pasta off the specials board.
The owners were lovely and the place had a nice cozy atmosphere.
Make sure you book though, there's not many tables and it was always full up.
We also popped in for lunch and the ciabatta's were nice with alot of filling.

36 The Strand, Walmer, DealSuperb gluten free menu, separate fryers which is absolutely key for us. No issues after eating here several times. As close to guaranteed gluten free as can be.
The staff are warm and welcoming and the service is superb!

7 Broad St, DealWe had a good experience here on the whole, but we were served the wrong afternoon tea despite requesting an allergy friendly meal ahead of time. The staff were quite stretched and stressed out, which took away somewhat from the experience. The food was relatively nice and it was a lovely setting, however.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. And it's not too far from the beach, so you can keep an eye on the sea while sipping your drinks ?
