Cardamom Indian Restaurant
37 Littlestone Rd, Littlestone, New RomneyMy partner and I have tried many Indian restaurants when we moved into the area. None could come close to the quality and taste that we were used to until we tried Cardamom. The medium is a bit spicier than I'm used to but I can deal with that when the chicken and lamb is always tender. They are friendly and offer great customer service too!

Feb25: A nice friendly, welcoming, local, kebab shop I would use again. Meat was tasty and nicely spiced, chips were excellent. Possibly a bit of modernisation could be done, but very clean and seating & tables in good condition.

The Guljar Tandoori
23 High St, Lydd, Romney MarshCollected an order in person this evening. Two of the three dishes are my go to options. Chicken Pathia and Lamb Dansak. Both are superb. I look forward to trying chefs recommended dish on my return in the near future!

Dymchurch Fish Bar
5 High St, Dymchurch, Romney MarshWe visit here every year for our school’s annual summer trip, and once again, the service was excellent. This year, we pre-ordered 30 meals for staff and students. The team kindly phoned to let us know when everything was ready. The food was hot, tasty, and served in generous portions. Thank you once again for helping make our trip such a success.

The Tandoori Hut
6 High St, Dymchurch, Romney MarshJust moved in to the area and keen to find a good Indian; a few locals recommended New Romney High St over Tandoori Hut so we took the advice on board and gave them a go; not too impressed with their choice so for our next curry decided to try Tandoori Hut instead.
I was encouraged to see the 15% off for collection, but in my haste missed the bit that says ‘over £25’ and fell around 70p short to claim my discount.
Went to collect with what I thought was correct money only to find no discount applied but after a friendly discussion - and dropping in that we live around the corner and get an Indian once a week - we got the 15%.
No free popadoms, as is the norm in pretty much every Indian we have used in over 40 years; perhaps my punishment for driving a hard bargain . . .
What we got however was one of the best curries we have had outside of London in over 5 years; an almost perfect veg bhaji, a piping hot fluffy nan bread, and a faultless Bombay aloo and veg rice.
Nice to see individual dishes and colours, instead of every dish in much the same sauce and looking and tasting the same, as we found with our first visit to New Romney High St.
Good also to see old-school foil containers in an age where every take away uses plastic; much easier to sit on a warming tray on getting home.
Tandoori Hut will absolutely be our go-to Indian from now on; I will in future add another side dish to trigger the 15%, or perhaps popadoms and pickle if the lack-of last time was not a one-off.
Highly recommended.

1-3 Coast Dr, Greatstone, New RomneyWonderful meal with family at Demetrio’s on Friday. Food was plentiful and freshly cooked. Nothing was too much trouble for them.Service was great and we had a great time reminiscing with Pat and Eva. My daughter spent a lot of her childhood with friends have fun with them all and they still remember her.

The karaoke night we had while I was there was insane! One of the best nights I had in a few years. Had a 2-1/2 day hangover lol.

Two quiches, poached eggs on toast, a ploughman's and paninis were all excellent accompanied by a big pot of tea for two and soft drinks. Everything was served very quickly by super friendly staff. Don't miss lunch or breakfast here. Interesting curiosity shop nearby. Visit old Dungeness lighthouse point 7 minute drive and fly your kites kids on the big gravel beach accessible by a wooden boardwalk.

Park St, Lydd, Romney MarshWe aren’t pub goers and haven’t been to one for years but we ventured out to this one and we’ve been 2 weeks in a row both Saturday nights as they have live music. The first week was a solo musician and he was great then tonight we went to see a status quo tribute and they were amazing. The owners and their staff were very friendly and welcoming as were the regulars. We didn’t feel out of place and we’ll definitely be going back very soon. In summery it’s an amazing little pub with a great atmosphere and no smelly food in sight.

118 High St, Dymchurch, Romney MarshWe had a fantastic 4 night stay at The Ship Inn, Everything was spotless and very well looked after, which made the whole experience really comfortable. The staff were excellent – friendly, welcoming and always happy to help with anything we needed.
The food was top quality and clearly prepared with care, and the beer selection was great as well. It’s always nice to find a place where both the food and drinks are done properly.
Overall a brilliant stay and I would definitely recommend it. I’ll happily return again this year.

Have to say we eat Chinese food regularly and this is by far one of the nicest and best quality food I’ve eaten in a while. Good portions nice and hot and really well cooked. Pickneybush Ln, St Mary in the Marsh, Romney MarshWebsite didn’t indicate whether there would be food or not, but we needn’t have worried…Landlady Katie was there. Ignore the slightly shabby entrance & go in for excellent service. There were no sandwiches on the menu but that was no problem & we had delicious, generous ham& salad ones, sitting near the cosy log burner.
