This was our first trip to the Poet in a while, and it didn’t disappoint! We came for Sunday lunch and were really impressed. The staff were lovely and very helpful, and we got our drinks ordered almost immediately. The Gin cocktail was lovely! Our starters were gorgeous, as were our mains (the beef in particular was stunning and cooked perfectly), and the dessert was also great. A very enjoyable afternoon out for lunch, and we’ll definitely be back!
Our first time at the Poet and our first time eating out on Christmas Day and we loved it. From the minute we walked through the door the team were so welcoming, friendly and professional, it felt so cosy and Christmassy and the food was amazing. We had the best time. Thank you for make our family Christmas so special.

A warm welcome as we arrived, very friendly staff and enjoyed a pre lunch drink in the cosy bar area.We went for 3 courses from the a la carte menu, accompanied by a lovely pinot noir. We honestly couldn’t fault the food, which was delicious. I would highly recommend the scallops to start and the duck for main.We will be back after a very pleasant lunch!
