This place is wonderful. They gave my Cocker Spaniel his own roast beef dinner. My Cocker Spaniel wants to get another date in his diary, and pronto! 15th century building, open fires, bursting with character and the staff are lovely and kind. The food is fresh and wholesome. I need to go now, because I want to order my sticker toffee pudding.....

Just popped in for a quick drink. Went to the terrace at the back. Sorry, but it just doesn’t look safe. The 2 foot wall that stops people from falling over the side is cracked in numerous places and the floor is very uneven. It just looks like it hasnt been attended to for years. This is not meant to be disparaging, I am sure the rest is fine but it does leave me with concerns.

Bear with - I have a lot to say and all good. We took my 94 year old Mum in law to lunch today and it was an unmitigated success, largely down to the great prompt service and excellent food. The staff were all engaged and cheerful (even the teenagers). The welcome was warm and the service didn’t flag despite delivering an enormous number of covers.
