Excellent traditional pub with very friendly staff and welcoming local drinkers. Very good beer and a huge selection of fine malt whiskeys. I saw a very negative review from a Mr Little about two days ago and I would like to offer the other side of his experience. I was a visitor drinking in this pub when this gentleman came in, ordered a drink and sat by himself around the corner not interacting with anyone at all. Wonderful community pub where the friendly welcome is only matched by the quality of the beer. We were lucky enough to be there for one of the folk music nights - just wish we could have stayed longer.

Excellent range of single malt whisky. Good selection of ales. The only thing that let it down for me was a bit of a damp smell. But I would still recommend a visit if you go to Alnwick.
