Took a lovely walk along the beach from Seahouses to the castle. Stopped into this hotel for a pint or three. Ic and Flic are reviewing this as a pub / bar but it is more a nice hotel. The drinking area is basically the residents lounge. In summer drinkers spill outside. Two very good Alnwick brewery real ales. Most of the bar seems to be for meals and is surprisingly large. A very impressive menu. Prices reflect this being a destination hotel.
We first visited Bamburgh in 2010, and loved it so much we've been back more than 10 times. Every time we go, we have a few meals at the Lord Crewe. Every single time the food is lovely, the staff are excellent, and the ambiance is wonderful.We've just been back for another week (Feb 2024), and went to the Lord Crewe three times. Food & drinks: Food was excellent. Quality ingredients, expertly cooked, well presented and served and oh so tasty (and photogenic)! Friendly place, dog friendly, and tastebud friendly. Would return in a heartbeat.Noteworthy details: Central location, dog friendly (they were offered treats!), would highly recommend the prawn cocktail and the mussels.
