Restaurants in Chipping Norton
The Red Lion Inn
Main Street, Long Compton, Shipston-on-StourA really lovely dog friendly pub, which genuinely means dog friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was the right balance of high-quality
good service fair prices but without feeling over the top of pretentious.

Falkland Arms
19-21 The Green, Great Tew, Chipping NortonAbsolutely charming pub, in a very popular hamlet, right next to the famous Quince and Clover. Only handful of rooms, but absolutely everything you need, and a fraction of the price of some of the fancy hotels nearby. And they might have more in the way of facilities and cachet, but what the Falkland has got is authenticity. I’ll leave it there.

The Old Mill Coffee House & Bistro
7 West St, Chipping NortonAttentive staff and reasonably priced. The food quality wasn't the best and the portion was quite small. It got really busy on the day i went and was a struggle to have a nice converstaion as i struggled to hear and had to talk quite loud.

The Bull - Charlbury
Sheep St, Charlbury, Chipping NortonI went to the Bull for the first time for my 40th birthday and really enjoyed our dinner! The service was fantastic - really excellent. A little bit dark in there but I think that's just the vibe of the restaurant. They very kindly wrote me a card for the table which was a really nice touch. The only thing I was disappointed with was that the food wasn't hot, it was luke warm and some dishes verging on cold. There were 7 of us so I understand it can be a bit difficult if you are serving a big table all at once. I would expect the food to be hotter though. Some cutlery wasn't clean either. Saying that, the quality of the food was great - seasonal vegetables were extremely tasty and the sirloin was delicious. I would like to go back for lunch and with a smaller group just for slightly different experience.

The Swan, Ascott-under-Wychwood Cotswolds
4 Shipton Rd, Chipping NortonMy wife and I stayed a single night in the Cob room this March and everything was wonderful. The room itself was well decorated and cozy with more amenities than expected. The small kitchen was a gem and quite a surprise. The restaurant also exceeded expectations with both food and ambiance. The staff was super helpful, friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a stunning stay in the Cotswolds.

The Tite Inn
Mill End, Chadlington, Chipping NortonWe went to The Tite Inn today for a family roast and it was absolutely lovely. Between us we tried the beef, pork and chicken, and every dish was excellent. I had the beef, which was incredibly tender and full of flavour. The service was great too the staff were friendly, helpful and very welcoming. The pub itself is beautiful, and the playground at the back is a real bonus for families with children.
We’ll definitely be back.

Spice Of India
6 West St, Chipping NortonThe food was absolutely delicious! One of the best Indians I’ve had. The staff were lovely and accommodating. They also shared to us about their culture which was lovely. The only critique I have is the atmosphere wasn’t lively, however were were the only people in there, just after they opened at 5. Would definitely recommend a visit!

The Wild Rabbit
Church St, Kingham, Chipping NortonMy sister and cousin stayed at the Wild Rabbit for three nights in one of the cottages. If you're looking to visit the Cotswold, we *highly* recommend staying here.
The cottage was cozy and well-equipped (kitchen appliances, board games, firewood, etc.), and we were welcomed with a basket of fresh provisions upon arrival. Everything you need--organic groceries, restaurants and spa--is of walking distance (10 minutes), but the hotel also provides complimentary car service within a five minute radius, so we were able to explore neighboring towns.
There are easily accessible, car-less trails that run through the property. I was able to run 5-6 miles, but you could probably find a path that takes you much further.
The highlight of this stay for us was the impeccable service from the staff. The entire trip felt easy. The staff was very helpful in helping plan our trip and address any hiccups or issues. For example, trains from Kingham to London were cancelled last minute. The hotel found an alternative option, arranging a local taxi to take us to the nearest train station, saving us 3 hours of wait time. Thank you thank you thank youuuu!!

The Chequers
Goddards Ln, Chipping NortonHad a tip-off from a friend that The Chequers is becoming something of a new local hotspot, so I booked a table for Mother’s Day for my in-laws, husband and our two children (both under ten).
The welcome was wonderfully friendly, with attentive, knowledgeable young staff who were clearly very well brought up and a credit to the place. Service felt relaxed but professional.
The Sunday roast was excellent — perfectly judged portions, not too much and not too little. The red cabbage and the gravy were particular highlights. The meat came from a well-known local butcher, which was lovely to see.
The pub itself is surprisingly cavernous inside, with lots of little nooks and crannies that give it a cosy feel despite its size.
We’d very happily return and wish the team every success — it feels like a place with a very bright future.

Bitter & Twisted
1a Middle Row, Chipping NortonMe and my husband came here for breakfast on Sunday and it was the best breakfast we have ever had. We both had a full English and it tasted so fresh and not greasy, the eggs were so lovely and were told they were from a local company. Coffee and tea was also lovely, and the price was really good for the food you get. Staff were also lovely and friendly and welcoming. Would definitely return if we are in the area again.

Caffè Nero
10 High St, Chipping NortonStopped in for a quick late afternoon pick-me-up and was pleasantly surprised. The café was clean, the staff friendly, and service was quick. Ordered an oat milk cortado and a matcha latte—both were solid and hit the spot. Nothing fancy, just reliable quality and a relaxed atmosphere. Exactly what we needed.

The Kings Arms, Chipping Norton
18 West St, Chipping NortonLovely spacious pub, friendly bar staff and customers. Dog friendly too. Popped in on a friday night, they had the big tele on showing the winter Olympics, a band turned up around 8pm that started setting up but I left before they played. Really nice atmosphere and tasty cider! Brought a fresh stone baked pizza from the kitchen too which was tasty ? drinks were pricey but that's just in line with the area. Would definitely visit again

Beijing Gourmet
3 Market St, Chipping NortonHi Tanya Fulker, I’m so sorry that you’re not happy with what you have received from your order tonight, but I have to tell you that we have double checked the meal you have returned, there is no onion at all, they’re Chinese leaves and leek, just like I said in the phone when you called back to complain. About the £1.40 you’ve mentioned, this is the price in difference of what you wanted later on, you wanted to change one meal to two instead. Hope you would enjoy the food in other places.
