Restaurants in Chipping Norton
Falkland Arms
19-21 The Green, Great Tew, Chipping NortonAbsolutely charming pub, in a very popular hamlet, right next to the famous Quince and Clover. Only handful of rooms, but absolutely everything you need, and a fraction of the price of some of the fancy hotels nearby. And they might have more in the way of facilities and cachet, but what the Falkland has got is authenticity. I’ll leave it there.

The Red Lion Inn
Main Street, Long Compton, Shipston-on-StourFirst time eating here and we are local to the area.
Fantastic food and service, food was hot and very tasty.. I'm very fussy when eating out and will complain if need to, but this place is spot on. Great service from friendly staff, great atmosphere in the building everyone seems happy and getting along which makes a place. Toilets are clean and tidy. We could not fault the place....I would say that for the quality of food and service and for the atmosphere of the hotel I would say its my favourite local by far..Will definitely be going back. Keep up the great work.

The Swan, Ascott-under-Wychwood Cotswolds
4 Shipton Rd, Chipping NortonWe were having a long weekend exploring the Cotswolds & had booked one night at The Swan - The room was really fantastic and the welcome from the staff truely personal - so we went straight back to reception after check in and booked another night (we were lucky as our room was the only one available for the second night)
Great beers & wines, the food was faultless and the garden is a very special space.
Magical stay - every member of the team had a genuine human touch that they shared with us and all the guests around us.
We were marking our 40th Anniversary as part of the trip - I still don't know how they knew - but the subtly way that they acknowledged the occasion demostrated the thoughtful way that they approach customer service. Thank you.

The Kingham Plough
The Grn, Kingham, Chipping NortonBrought my American guests here especially to meet Chef Ashley, winner of the Great British Menu 2025 — the famous culinary TV show.
Unfortunately, Ashley wasn’t in on the day of our visit, but the food was absolutely outstanding! Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavour.
On the same trip, we also visited the charming villages of Bibury and Bourton-on-the-Water — a perfect day out in the Cotswolds. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to experience top-class British cuisine in a lovely setting.

Thai To Go
Worton Rd, Middle Barton, Chipping NortonFantastic authentic tasting Thai food. The Penang curry reminds me of the curry bought from a little stall in the middle of nowhere for for 30baht. Delivery was great. Would highly recommend.

The Bull - Charlbury
Sheep St, Charlbury, Chipping NortonI went to the Bull for the first time for my 40th birthday and really enjoyed our dinner! The service was fantastic - really excellent. A little bit dark in there but I think that's just the vibe of the restaurant. They very kindly wrote me a card for the table which was a really nice touch. The only thing I was disappointed with was that the food wasn't hot, it was luke warm and some dishes verging on cold. There were 7 of us so I understand it can be a bit difficult if you are serving a big table all at once. I would expect the food to be hotter though. Some cutlery wasn't clean either. Saying that, the quality of the food was great - seasonal vegetables were extremely tasty and the sirloin was delicious. I would like to go back for lunch and with a smaller group just for slightly different experience.

The Wild Rabbit
Church St, Kingham, Chipping NortonThe hotel is so cozy and the staff is incredibly kind and helpful. You also can’t beat the location if you’re looking to be in a more peaceful and quiet part of the Cotswolds while still being close to the more touristy villages. Oh, and the breakfast selection is perfection!

Bitter & Twisted
1a Middle Row, Chipping NortonWe stopped here for some lunch on our motorbikes. A very hot day. We also had a unique problem and everyone in the pub tried to help. Rachel came to our rescue. Because of the people at this pub, Chipping Norton will always have a special place in our hearts. Thank you to everyone in the Bitter & Twisted. Specially to Rachel and her mom. We will be back soon for another meal and a chat.

Caffè Nero
10 High St, Chipping NortonStopped in for a quick late afternoon pick-me-up and was pleasantly surprised. The café was clean, the staff friendly, and service was quick. Ordered an oat milk cortado and a matcha latte—both were solid and hit the spot. Nothing fancy, just reliable quality and a relaxed atmosphere. Exactly what we needed.

Beijing Gourmet
3 Market St, Chipping NortonHi Tanya Fulker, I’m so sorry that you’re not happy with what you have received from your order tonight, but I have to tell you that we have double checked the meal you have returned, there is no onion at all, they’re Chinese leaves and leek, just like I said in the phone when you called back to complain. About the £1.40 you’ve mentioned, this is the price in difference of what you wanted later on, you wanted to change one meal to two instead. Hope you would enjoy the food in other places.

The Tite Inn
Mill End, Chadlington, Chipping NortonSo we went here for an evening meal on 06/08/25 as a group of 5 whilst visiting the Cotswolds. Lad at the bar was very friendly, polite and very welcoming.
Food, amazing, all home cooked decent food!
Only thing is, read the small print at the bottom of the menu as we got stung with a 12% service charge that is in tiny writing at the bottom of the menu under the allergens information!!! So we ended up paying £20 on top of a bill for 5 people.
