The Boat Inn
Charlestown Rd, AboyneWe ate here one evening in early August, easy to book, when I enquired by email about food availability it was answered very quickly.
Unfortunately we weren't in time for the roast dinner as they had all gone but the food we had was great, lovely steak and chips and the pork belly was beautiful too. All served quickly and the staff there were all excellent ?
The view outside is amazing too, sun was just about down, and It looked spectacular.

Douneside House & Health Club
Tarland, AboyneVisited the gardens - they are partnered with the RHS, but the website also indicates they do garden tours. The gardens are separated into different areas - an arboretum, walled vegetable garden, cutting garden, ornamental greenhouse with exotic plants, brook side garden, terraced garden. Each area was immaculate and plenty of the plants are labelled for identification. The Gardeners were friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit

Deeside Activity Park
A93, Dess, AboyneWe came for a family trip to Scotland for my father's 80th birthday, had the whole family with us. We wanted to do something fun that would provide enjoyment for all from their teens to their 80s. We found the Deeside Activity Park and decided upon rifle target shooting. Jack out instructor was amazing and made the event enjoyable for everyone. So enjoyable that we went back the next day for archery and go-karting, where Jack was able to get my 80 year old father on the track racing against his grandchildren, such great memories were made. Everyone was so accommodating and the experience was amazing.
I would highly recommend it to anyone.

The Lodge on the Loch
Aboyne Loch Golf Centre, AboyneWhat a great location with the friendly hospitality you will only find with Derek and Jean -- the owners and creators of this very special place. I recommend this hotel establishment highly. Peace and tranquility on a swan lake with a surrounding walking path and a 9-hole golf course make this an exquisite retreat for all.
