Was not disappointed, nice Decaff coffee and a huge cinnamon twist which I thought I’d have to split and take home, but managed to scoff the lot because it was so good.., going back tomorrow for some goodies for the weekend..,

Fish Shop Restaurant
3 Netherley Pl, BallaterAbsolutely superb seafood restaurant located somewhat surprisngly not on the coast! There is a mediterranean twist to many of the dishes - all very well executed and presented. Great wines with a sommelier on hand to help out. Service was also very good. Well worth making the trip to Ballater.

1 Netherley Pl, BallaterOh my goodness the food was amazing - be warned big portions. Place was busy and great atmosphere. We didn't book and thankfully got a table but I think if you can book go for it. We had the macaroni cheese - delicious!

8 Bridge St, BallaterGorgeous spot to warm up on a brisk morning in late October. The team working that day were friendly, helpful, and quick.
Utterly charming, decorated for Halloween, and with wonderful Chai latte.
Street parking was easy enough to find that morning, and my family enjoyed a few of the sweets on offer, along with hot chocolate, and it gave us a great start to the day's travels.

The Green Inn
9 Victoria Rd, BallaterFrom the ambiance, the beautiful atrium, the smooth-jazz played for background music, and the attentive service, to the quality of the 'house' red wine, the salad, the tomato/red-lentils soup, the cheesy-garlic pizza bread and last but not least - the perfect lamb dish, it was an over-the-top experience. Highly recommended, and will definitely come back.

47 Bridge St, BallaterWe stopped here for takeaway sandwiches before a hike. Beautiful cafe and store with very friendly staff. Excellent price (less than £10) for a sandwich, crisps, tray bake, and drink. Highly recommend if you’re in Ballater!

43 Bridge St, BallaterI've eaten breakfast twice here during a short stay in Ballater. My scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection and the homemade granola bowl was delicious. Great coffee, friendly staff, good price. Roaring fire is a great addition on a frosty morning.

5 Bridge Square, BallaterWent here on Saturday night for my husband’s birthday, I cannot rave about the food more, it was sensational, we had the haggis bonbons and the ox cheek and it was “just wow”. The gentlemen who served us were great and the place was warm and welcoming, if you’re near by this is a must.

I got the quiche that comes with a salad, coleslaw and chips (or crisps). The quiche was tasty & average sized, but the side dish servings were super small. The prices seemed pretty reasonable, but I just expected a bit more food.

2 Church Sq, BallaterEnjoyed a fantastic meal here on Hogmanay and the food was delicious ? Attention to detail was excellent and as a party of 7 we felt very spoilt. It was lovely to see a bustling restaurant with very friendly and attentive staff, particularly on what was an extremely busy night for them. We'll definitely be back. Thanks again x

20 Mar Rd, Braemar, BallaterDelicious home made cakes and sandwiches. Foccacia is made in-house and the Tomato and Mint Pesto focaccia sandwich was so tasty. Will definitely be back next time in Braemar!
