The Highland Soap Company Visitor Centre & Larder Cafe

We did the soap making workshop, great fun, very informative and Sarah was a great teacher. The cafe was good nice coffee and food. With a castle just along the road altogether a great place to visit.

Ben Nevis Takeaway

Amazing pizza. So tasty and service is fantastic! Ordered on the just eat app. Was delivered to the door within 15mins pipping hot! I’ve said it all along! Best pizzas in Fort William.

Macari's

Fantastic food. Wed looked at Fishy Fishy but didn’t t was incredibly expensive so we decided to head here instead. Absolutely amazing. The fish tasted like it had been caught that day and was absolutely huge. The battered sausages according to my daughter were ‘the best (she) ever tasted’ \n\nWe ordered it takeaway but they also let us sit inside for no extra to eat and even brought it over to us! It was an amazing way to leave on our last day of holiday. We drove home full and happy.

McDonald's

Not normally a fan of McDonald's but as we don't have one within 100 miles of where we live, my 7 year old insisted on going when we visited Ft William.
Have to say by far the best McDonald's I've ever been to. Place was spotlessly clean, food was hot and actually looked like the pictures on the menu screen and was served at the table by some lovely, friendly and helpful staff. ??

Abis Kebabs

Very cordial and hard working staff. Halal foods available. Halal foods are fried in seperate oil and all staff very cautious to ensure they are serving you the halal version.

Black Isle Bar Fort William

We didn’t do the West Highland Way hike but we still rewarded ourselves with the Nduja and Hot honey pizza and garlic pizza bread. Great atmosphere and delicious food. Nice beer menu too.

Glen Nevis Restaurant

The food is absolutely fantastic here- we ended up having a 3 course dinner. Really great range of options for all tastes. My boyfriend loved the whiskey menu too. Couldn't recommend more

The Nevis Centre

A good location for spending some time with kids or friends.
The bowling place is fun and also provides the possibility to buy drinks. I liked that they had some special support for launching the ball when playing with young children, as obviously they cannot throw it, but they can slide it on that frame, like a marble game ball. The Cafe has very few options to eat, a few cakes that aren’t made on the spot, some coffee (though not great taste) and snacks. The seating area has about 30 seats, mostly on tables with chairs, but also a couple of couches.
Decent prices for everything, but they could work a little on the quality and service.
I was never impressed about the service. They lack a simple free smile.
Same for the softplay area for kids.
No smiles at all, ever, and I’ve been here many times.
I didn’t like at the softplay the fact that it is always a little cold, but mostly in the winter. Another thing about the top side of the softplay, is that they don’t switch on the lights at all times, and they aren’t with sensors for movement. My son doesn’t feel too comfortable in the semi dark areas there. On the entrance at the softplay, there are tables with seats for about 25 people. I wish they wouldn’t allow the food from outside or the Cafe to be consumed here. The entrance price for kids is up to £5, per session, depending on age.
The toilets are okay, but at times they may be a little messy, because of the volume of people using them.

Travee

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights and had a lovely time! We especially loved watching the birds in the garden, and taking in the stunning views of Ben Nevis. The town of Corpach is a great location for day trips to many of the beautiful sights around the Fort William area, and Innes and Jean were kind enough to give us lots of tips on how to spend our time there. Great food options and groceries nearby as well! The breakfast provided was top notch, served with an entire pot of tea or coffee! Thank you so much again for having us!

We popped in for dinner. We arrived with small children and needed to eat quickly to get them back for bedtime. The hosts were lovely and the food was very nice and came quickly. Would say it’s a bit dark inside and would be nice to eat outside instead. I believe they do have outdoor seating.

The Grog & Gruel

Had a brillant meal in here today sat 3rd Jan Jenna and her colleague was fantastic they was so welcoming and loved our fur baby like we do cooper my husband had peppered chicken and I had Cajun burger it was fantastic def go back. Again the smile the welcome off staff and the atmosphere happy customers and honestly if anyone goes here it’s the kind vibes welcome with a smile well done girls keep up\nThe good work Sam dougie cooper from Ayr x

Cafe 115

Great food, quick friendly service, and quiet, calm atmosphere. Several tasty gluten free and vegan options - we liked the gf/vegan pakora and spinach and mushroom risotto. Highly recommend!

The Geographer

Reviews and recommendations brought us to the Geographer, and we’re really glad they did. Maybe it was the long journey on the WHW, but we came in ready for a substantial meal. My husband and I both ordered burgers, and we agreed, those were the best hamburgers we’ve ever had. Tasty, juicy, seasoned and cooked just right. The service was efficient, and the young woman who took care of us was funny, friendly and made us feel welcome. We also had the pleasure of a few words with the manager(?)/ owner(?)/ man in the shirt that said “The Boss”. Again, funny, friendly and welcoming. The whole experience was so satisfying. Note: If you go, there is no indoor waiting area. If you have to wait for a table, you do so on the sidewalk. Hint: It’s Scotland. It rains. Dress accordingly, and come with that understanding. Our experience was that this place turns tables very quickly. We arrived to a line of 10+ people ahead of us. We were seated within 15 minutes.

The Wildcat

WOW. This is a cool place. With lots of vegan food, that is super tasty. And coffee and cakes to die for.
We took the soup (yumm), wrap (amazing), and chickpea curry. All full of flavors.
Staff is relaxed and super friendly. Atmosphere: fantastic. You just need to be lucky to find a space to sit.

Sammy's Fish & Chip Shop

Absolutely lovely - went back to here before heading to Glasgow from Glen Coe just for the Food.
As a Bonus there is also a ShipWreck (56.84080021752801, -5.117155071029272) on the Coastline a few meters away that is world famous too.....

Spice Tandoori

I had Christmas Day lunch with my son and granddaughter at spice Tandoori Fort William. It was a bit different having a curry for Christmas lunch but I’m so glad we did. The service was fantastic. The staff knew exactly what they were doing. The meal was ordered and was delivered to the table very swiftly. The food was fantastic full of flavour,piping hot,and plenty of it. It is an exceptionally clean and brightly lit restaurant. I will have no hesitation going back there. If you get to Fort William in the Highlands of Scotland, this is a place you must go to. I hope they have a very good year. I hope to see them very soon.

Crannog at Garrison West

5 Stars.

Food: The food was delicious. The two types of meals my family ordered were fish-and-chips and cod. The meals were large, and only one of us finished the full meal. We also ordered squid rings that came with a special sauce for a starter. It was good, no doubt about that.

Service: The waiters were good. It took a little while for the servers to take our orders and for the food to get to us, but other than that the service was great!

Atmosphere: The ambiance of the place was wonderful! The chairs were comfortable and the decorations added to the charm.

The Crofter Bar and Restaurant

Sizzling fajitas were superb. Freshly made to order, tasty as anything. Excellent, friendly service. Busy with Christmas work nights out but I had zero wait. No notes!

The Kilted Camel

What an absolute gem of a place! Easily the best coffee in Fort William, homemade pastries and pies are to die for. I genuinely crave them and need to go in regularly for my fix now ?. The staff are super friendly and just lovely to chat away to. I love that you can get a tasty quick bite to go, and absolute must if visiting the area.

The Lochy

Great place, excellent food, staff were friendly and helpful, we turned 6 starters into our own tapas style meal, which was very tasty. Loads of parking too, an excellent place to stop on our way south from Skye

The Volunteer Arms

Great drinks and service. But karaoke was the best. These Texas ladies had a blast. (Mother-daughter) my daughter got up and sang a bunch. Everyone was super fun and engaging.

Nevis Bakery

Great local bakery, lively customer service, good homemade selection of sweet and savory delights for breakfast and lunch and snacks! Grab and go sandwiches (wrapped and hot pies). Good prices.

Sunny's Sports Bar

Just had a few days in Fort William with family and found this bar. Couldnt recommend more highly. Lovely owner and great staff. They made us so welcome every time we went in there. Great prices as well.

Blas na Mara

Exactly what a seafood shack should be. Freshest seafood, view of the water, outdoor eating, friendly staff. If you want a sit down restaurant-go elsewhere but if you want the local seaside vibe and to eat well with plenty of time to sight see then stop here.

The best fish & chips we have had all trip! The fish was breaded & fried right in front of us. The tartar sauce was delicious-I would love the recipe. The langoustine was fresh & sweet in that way only fresh seafood can be.

There is one picnic table with umbrella. Otherwise our family of 15 ate on the stairway and enjoyed every minute.

Stopped in for a drink here on a stag and ended up staying for hours, had a brilliant time playing bingo (fantastically run, loads of fun)

We were a bit rowdy apologies for that but the staff were so brilliant and understanding!

Lochaber Cafe

Decided to try this place as the lodge where I stayed don't do breakfast and my bus was at 12.30 went in the girl took my order a full breakfast a cappuccino and some toast for the price it wasn't bad and it was nice just to sit and watch the world go by.

The Bistro

We visited the Bistro at Alexandra hotel for an early lunch. It was relatively quiet. The servers were sweet and helpful with our vegetarian requirements. We had the veg burger and the ricotta tortellini and both dishes were good.

Rio Pizzeria

Absolutely outstanding! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting atmosphere. The service was attentive without ever being intrusive, and every member of staff went out of their way to make the experience special.

The food was the real star — beautifully presented, packed with flavour, and clearly made with the freshest ingredients. Each dish was perfectly balanced, with just the right mix of creativity and authenticity. Portions were generous, and every bite left us wanting more.

The ambience was just as impressive — cosy yet elegant, making it perfect for both a casual meal or a special occasion.

All in all, a flawless dining experience. We’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to everyone we know.

Aroma Cafe

Nice little food place in the middle of town off the High Street. Friendly staff and a good service. Had a lovely panini with salad for a quick lunch with a great view of the loch and hills behind. Will return. ?

China Palace

The ambiance here is so warm and welcoming and the food comes to you hot.

I had the chicken chowmein and it was satisfying with a good portion size.

The Hot Roast Company Ltd

On a typical Scottish weather day, the gammon and mustard rolls from The Hot Roast Company were what the doctor ordered. Utterly delicious. The bread was soft and airy. The meat was full of flavour and amazing. The little cafe is dog friendly and our dog even had a little bowl of turkey. Service was friendly and welcoming. This place is a gem. Simple food done very well.

The Great Glen - JD Wetherspoon

Came here after finishing the West Highland Way. Food is cheap & plentiful, and the free refills on hot drinks is a godsend. Atmosphere was nice in the sense that we (group of young smelly hikers) weren't rushed out of the door after finishing our food, none of the staff minded us hanging around for a while charging our phones and waiting for a bus.

Costa Coffee

Never really have reviewed after being a regular for a while now.

It’s my home away from home. From getting my irregular Cappuccino ordered without asking from Bandana and her coworker also from India to sitting down to doing a bit of work almost every day with great views.

So glad Fort William still has a Costa Coffee!!

West Highland Restaurant

I was here in early April 2024 during a 4 day stay in Fort William for some mountain hiking. On a slightly rainy daybit was lovely to visit the shops here, and also the restaurant. They served enjoyable dishes for lunch, the service was very friendly and very smooth. I just had a small wine, a lovely vegetable soup served with a bun, and something sweet as a desert. There was no rush, and I enjoyed talking my time while also having brought something to read. It was spacious, calm, and just very enjoyable.

Morrisons Cafe

The food was actually decent and tbh we were so happy to avoid all the tourist traps on the main street and pay £20 for a quick lunch instead. Those were honest prices for what they served and the two ladies that served us were lovely and kind. Well done
