The Highland Soap Company Visitor Centre & Larder Cafe

We did the soap making workshop, great fun, very informative and Sarah was a great teacher. The cafe was good nice coffee and food. With a castle just along the road altogether a great place to visit.

Ben Nevis Takeaway

Amazing pizza. So tasty and service is fantastic! Ordered on the just eat app. Was delivered to the door within 15mins pipping hot! I’ve said it all along! Best pizzas in Fort William.

Macari's

Fresh cooked food to order which was ideal as we were staying in self catering lodges 10 miles away.

The food was still fresh and warm when we returned back to our accommodation to eat.

Was disappointed that Special (battered) Fish isn’t available but the battered fish was well cooked and very tasty. Really fresh fish and lots of it!

Also you need to pay for sauce in packets as none are offered as part of your order. I purchased a bottle as I’m not a fan of HP sauce on fish.

My sons had haggis supper and half pizza crunch supper which was as expected.

I’d say the price was higher than we are used to paying elsewhere in Scotland but the food was good and we all enjoyed.

I’ve added some photos to show that the portion sizes were great also.

McDonald's

Not normally a fan of McDonald's but as we don't have one within 100 miles of where we live, my 7 year old insisted on going when we visited Ft William.
Have to say by far the best McDonald's I've ever been to. Place was spotlessly clean, food was hot and actually looked like the pictures on the menu screen and was served at the table by some lovely, friendly and helpful staff. ??

Abis Kebabs

Very cordial and hard working staff. Halal foods available. Halal foods are fried in seperate oil and all staff very cautious to ensure they are serving you the halal version.

Black Isle Bar Fort William

We didn’t do the West Highland Way hike but we still rewarded ourselves with the Nduja and Hot honey pizza and garlic pizza bread. Great atmosphere and delicious food. Nice beer menu too.

Glen Nevis Restaurant

The food is absolutely fantastic here- we ended up having a 3 course dinner. Really great range of options for all tastes. My boyfriend loved the whiskey menu too. Couldn't recommend more

The Nevis Centre

A good location for spending some time with kids or friends.
The bowling place is fun and also provides the possibility to buy drinks. I liked that they had some special support for launching the ball when playing with young children, as obviously they cannot throw it, but they can slide it on that frame, like a marble game ball. The Cafe has very few options to eat, a few cakes that aren’t made on the spot, some coffee (though not great taste) and snacks. The seating area has about 30 seats, mostly on tables with chairs, but also a couple of couches.
Decent prices for everything, but they could work a little on the quality and service.
I was never impressed about the service. They lack a simple free smile.
Same for the softplay area for kids.
No smiles at all, ever, and I’ve been here many times.
I didn’t like at the softplay the fact that it is always a little cold, but mostly in the winter. Another thing about the top side of the softplay, is that they don’t switch on the lights at all times, and they aren’t with sensors for movement. My son doesn’t feel too comfortable in the semi dark areas there. On the entrance at the softplay, there are tables with seats for about 25 people. I wish they wouldn’t allow the food from outside or the Cafe to be consumed here. The entrance price for kids is up to £5, per session, depending on age.
The toilets are okay, but at times they may be a little messy, because of the volume of people using them.

Travee

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights and had a lovely time! We especially loved watching the birds in the garden, and taking in the stunning views of Ben Nevis. The town of Corpach is a great location for day trips to many of the beautiful sights around the Fort William area, and Innes and Jean were kind enough to give us lots of tips on how to spend our time there. Great food options and groceries nearby as well! The breakfast provided was top notch, served with an entire pot of tea or coffee! Thank you so much again for having us!

Absolutely delicious food!! Randomly came across it visiting Fort William... prices are extremely good value and food was absolutely gorgeous!! Highly recommend the Steak and ale Pie????

Cafe 115

I honestly really liked this cafe - we visited for lunch during our trip to Fort William. Everywhere else was quite crowded and loud, when we stumbled across this place - which was quiet, peaceful, relaxing and had lovely soft classical music playing in the background. It was honestly just what I needed after a long day of being overwhelmed. I had the tomato soup & cheese toastie - the soup was so lovely & the toastie went great! The staff were prompt in their serving & very kind - the price was reasonable! I wish this was my local honestly :)

The Geographer

I don’t normally write reviews but had such a positive experience at the Geographer, great service, super helpful with my allergies and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend and I’ll definitely be back!

The Wildcat

WOW. This is a cool place. With lots of vegan food, that is super tasty. And coffee and cakes to die for.
We took the soup (yumm), wrap (amazing), and chickpea curry. All full of flavors.
Staff is relaxed and super friendly. Atmosphere: fantastic. You just need to be lucky to find a space to sit.

Sammy's Fish & Chip Shop

We really enjoyed the food from Sammy's whilst holidaying in the Highlands. Chips were crunchy and non-greasy. I had the fishcakes which were very good. My son had the chicken burger which he also enjoyed. Friendly staff and only a few minutes drive from the centre of Fort William.

Crannog at Garrison West

Lovely dinner in this seafood restaurant. Great seafood and lovely & extremely welcoming service despite our late arrival. Absolutely kids friendly. Worths the visit!

The Crofter Bar and Restaurant

Sizzling fajitas were superb. Freshly made to order, tasty as anything. Excellent, friendly service. Busy with Christmas work nights out but I had zero wait. No notes!

Roam West

Fantastic place, friendly, helpful host, warm rooms, comfortable beds. Location is perfect for hiking, close to fort william, many scenic locations.

The Kilted Camel

What an absolute gem of a place! Easily the best coffee in Fort William, homemade pastries and pies are to die for. I genuinely crave them and need to go in regularly for my fix now ?. The staff are super friendly and just lovely to chat away to. I love that you can get a tasty quick bite to go, and absolute must if visiting the area.

The Lochy

Stopped by for lunch after going to the leisure centre. Place was warm and welcoming, service from the young waiter was top notch, the food was tasty (Mac n cheese, and the steak pie). Choices of non alcoholic beer for the driver.
Price was reasonable. Our first visit, but it won't be our last.

The Volunteer Arms

Great drinks and service. But karaoke was the best. These Texas ladies had a blast. (Mother-daughter) my daughter got up and sang a bunch. Everyone was super fun and engaging.

Nevis Bakery

Great local bakery, lively customer service, good homemade selection of sweet and savory delights for breakfast and lunch and snacks! Grab and go sandwiches (wrapped and hot pies). Good prices.

Sunny's Sports Bar

Just had a few days in Fort William with family and found this bar. Couldnt recommend more highly. Lovely owner and great staff. They made us so welcome every time we went in there. Great prices as well.

Lochaber Cafe

Convenient, quick and peaceful. A nice atmosphere while waiting for a train, especially if alone. Food is decent, better value for money than other options around and a chill atmosphere. Very prompt service as well. Overall, reccomended.

Blas na Mara

Exactly what a seafood shack should be. Freshest seafood, view of the water, outdoor eating, friendly staff. If you want a sit down restaurant-go elsewhere but if you want the local seaside vibe and to eat well with plenty of time to sight see then stop here.

The best fish & chips we have had all trip! The fish was breaded & fried right in front of us. The tartar sauce was delicious-I would love the recipe. The langoustine was fresh & sweet in that way only fresh seafood can be.

There is one picnic table with umbrella. Otherwise our family of 15 ate on the stairway and enjoyed every minute.

Stopped in for a drink here on a stag and ended up staying for hours, had a brilliant time playing bingo (fantastically run, loads of fun)

We were a bit rowdy apologies for that but the staff were so brilliant and understanding!

One of the trip highlights!

The Bistro

We stopped in here for dinner after a day walking. It's very handy from the train station. It was a wee bit quiet when we arrived but we were in about half 5ish and it did get busier later on. Staff were very friendly and our food was delicious.

Rio Pizzeria

Absolutely outstanding! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting atmosphere. The service was attentive without ever being intrusive, and every member of staff went out of their way to make the experience special.

The food was the real star — beautifully presented, packed with flavour, and clearly made with the freshest ingredients. Each dish was perfectly balanced, with just the right mix of creativity and authenticity. Portions were generous, and every bite left us wanting more.

The ambience was just as impressive — cosy yet elegant, making it perfect for both a casual meal or a special occasion.

All in all, a flawless dining experience. We’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to everyone we know.

The ambiance here is so warm and welcoming and the food comes to you hot.

I had the chicken chowmein and it was satisfying with a good portion size.

First time having Scottish breakfast in Scotland so I cant really compare. But I love this place! Great value, big portions and a huge selection for every taste buds. Free refills is of course a big plus.

The perfect start for going hiking afterwards.

Deli Barqen Chinese takeaway

Used this takeaway last visit to Fort William while staying for weekend 3 year ago was very impressed. Back staying this weekend and had a takeaway Friday night, it was that good we went back Sunday. Lovely fresh and very good prices. Lady owner even gave 2 bags of free prawn crackers. Highly recommend this takeaway. Mr William Richards Dunfermline Fife Scotland.

Costa Coffee

Never really have reviewed after being a regular for a while now.

It’s my home away from home. From getting my irregular Cappuccino ordered without asking from Bandana and her coworker also from India to sitting down to doing a bit of work almost every day with great views.

So glad Fort William still has a Costa Coffee!!

West Highland Restaurant

I was here in early April 2024 during a 4 day stay in Fort William for some mountain hiking. On a slightly rainy daybit was lovely to visit the shops here, and also the restaurant. They served enjoyable dishes for lunch, the service was very friendly and very smooth. I just had a small wine, a lovely vegetable soup served with a bun, and something sweet as a desert. There was no rush, and I enjoyed talking my time while also having brought something to read. It was spacious, calm, and just very enjoyable.

Morrisons Cafe

The food was actually decent and tbh we were so happy to avoid all the tourist traps on the main street and pay £20 for a quick lunch instead. Those were honest prices for what they served and the two ladies that served us were lovely and kind. Well done
