ar bòrd (our table)
Dervaig, Isle of MullThe idea of eating in someone's front room might deter some people from booking. Don't let it! Not only do Ar Bord find the perfect balance between homely and stylish, the food and service exceed even my high expectations. The three choices for each course offer a brilliant showcase for the local larder. Every dish our party of six ordered - which I think covered the whole menu - was a winner. With the added bonus of being BYO - we were able to enjoy some quality wine affordably too. Wholeheartedly recommend.

Am Birlinn
Dervaig, Tobermory, Isle of MullWe were crossing Am Berlin and just decided to pop in without a reservation on a Sunday night and were pleasantly surprised with the impeccable service and the great food. The portion sizes were great. We ordered two starters and two mains- scallops, mushrooms on toasted brioche, and two specials of the day which were black pudding stew with mashed potatoes and veggies, and salmon fillet with corn salsa. Each dish was cooked to perfection. Super happy with the meal. Deserves a Michelin really!

Isle of Mull Ice Cream
Main St, Tobermory, Isle of MullDelicious ice cream at a decent price. I never thought of having a sour cherry flavour in ice cream but it went great with the fragments of dark chocolate :-) Yummy salted caramel, too, says my daughter.

The Whitehouse Restaurant
Lochaline, ObanOne of the best meals I've ever had. Set menu with three options per course. All clearly fresh local produce, cooked to an exceptional standard. Incredible array of flavours in each dish. Good drink selection. Nice interior with good art and spacing between tables, and a view onto the bay. Attentive staff and, for the quality, very reasonable price.

Tobermory Bakery & Tea Room
A848, Tobermory, Isle of MullA variety of food offerings, in addition to coffee and tea. Small space can get crowded when the ferry disgorges large number of tourists. Was able to get a table and appreciated the cozy, homey atmosphere.

Arlene's Coffee Shop
Craignure, Isle of MullThink this place gets overlooked because it’s small, but a perfect place to eat when passing by. Affordable in comparison to some of the crazy prices in west Scotland this time of year. Fresh and tasty and friendly staff. Thanks!

Craignure Inn
Craignure, Isle of MullNice country pub with all you would expect from this. The vegetable chilli and soup of the day are always vegan. However it would be nice to have a vegan desert too such as a sorbet. It would also be useful if the vegan options were marked on the menu rather than just vegetarian.
