First visit to the restaurant and was not disappointed. Staff welcoming and friendly. The menu has lots to choose from but I was drawn to an old favourite of fish and chips. It was delicious. Our visit here was to celebrate a family members birthday ?? Really lovely time was had and would definitely come back.

The pizza is the best outside Italy ?? I struggle to get a decent pizza, especially the base when you are used to having in Sardinia Italy. My son also agrees ?

I was a little disappointed. I wanted the roll and bacon and a coffee deal. It does state that you will pay more for a "fancy coffee," but £1 more is a bit steep, I think. Its only 50p more to go from a flat white to a cappuccino, so why charge £1 for the breakfast deal?.

Vegetarian options: I've only seen a vegetarian sausage roll, if I'm honest.

Dietary restrictions: Unfortunately they don't do gluten free!.

Parking: Parked right outside

Kid-friendliness: Kids were in when we were there and they had little kids meals.

Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of room

Tesco Cafe

I have had a lot of bad experiences of supermarket cafes but I rate this as the best one I have been in. Staff are all smiling and can't help you enough. Food was fast and presented with a bit of pride in what they do. I can't praise them enough and will visit again.

Excellent meal on Thursday night, 10th April 2025 at Jholpai Indian Fusion in Lanark - I had Jalfrezi lamb, my friend chicken Jalfrezi and my other friend Punjabi lamb - accompanied with vegetable and chicken pakoras, nan bread, mushroom pilau rice and washed down with Kingfisher Beers - the lamb was cooked to perfection and melted away in your mouth - and the restaurant has recently been redecorated and refurnished ???

Excellent service, superb delivery drivers that call and make sure the food gets there hot, even in obscure locations. Best takeaway in the area! The pizza is to die for especially the spicy lamb. Tender and melt in the mouth on a pizza!. Superb and clean.

It’s been my go to restaurant for a takeaway. The only time I wanted to try a wee takeaway from a different restaurant, I got extremely disappointed. They’re so fast and their meals are to my taste, great packaging, nice fried rice, nice chicken curry, tasty chips, their lamb ribs is so yummy and crunchy and they also add something free, like chips for the kids. I love everything about them but I feel they need to improve on their portions.
Question- Do I recommend them?
Answer- YES! Over and over again ❤️

Just a wee edit: The delivery time is a bit long sometimes but I feel it’s because I ordered through just eat.

My fish from the takeaway was perfectly cooked, with a soft almost creamy and flaky texture in a lovely batter. The fritters were enjoyable too. The prices were as good value as you get in most chippies and more so for the high quality. The staff were friendly and pleasant. Though I hadn't used the restaurant I had a look in and it was tiny but immaculate and very cozy. Looks great for a family occasion where you could easily have the place to yourself with a smiling, polite waitress on hand. ??

Parking: It is right on the high street and lots of parking space. It gets very busy though daytime's but tonight, Sunday it was quiet.

Wheelchair accessibility: The takeaway had steps with narrow standing space but the restaurant was wheelchair accessible.

Valerio's Fish and Chips

My husband and I ordered the haddock with chips – and it was absolutely delicious! The fish was perfectly juicy and fresh, with a golden, crisp batter that wasn’t greasy at all. The chips were just as great – crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.

The service was incredibly kind and warm. The staff on shift were all young people, and while some may not have had much experience, it was truly heartwarming to see how much effort they were putting in. Their friendliness and care made the whole experience even more special.

You can feel the tradition, quality, and a welcoming family atmosphere here. We’ll definitely be coming back – and we recommend Valerio’s with all our hearts!

As a visitor from Canada ?? 50 years since we have been in Lanark. We booked last night and were not surprised what a great variety on the menu. Even better food in our view was excellent. Steak and Sausage Pie and great dunking gravy, side of French fries and veg. Breaded haddock fries and salad. Following sticky toffee pudding with custard as u may say it was braw. Oh yes we had drinks. Very friendly staff never rushed price wise excellent value. Thank and don’t forget to reserve. Slainthe.

We ordered food for a purvy and absolutely couldn't fault any of it. The communication with Lindsay was excellent. The food was delivered to our house exactly when she said it would be. The food was delicious (sandwiches, wraps and sausages rolls) and all our guests commented on how lovely it was, all at a reasonable price and high quality.
We wouldn't hesitate to use Well Fed again or to recommend them.

This was my first time at this bar. I was served by a young man with long hair (unfortunately I didn't get his name) and he was so polite and amazing, even after telling me what shots they didn’t have he went through what they did have, when my partner left to lift cash he watched my items for me when I went to the bathroom, he was so polite and genuine and I left a £10 tip (if at the time I had more cash I’d have given more) for how polite and genuine he was! That’s what service should be and I hope he feels like he’s done good at the end of every day. 2/10/24 we visited, thanks to him we will definitely visit again

Just popped into The Woodpecker Lanark on a day trip out. Yes it's a Thursday so quiet but OM Goodness the food is amazing. Chicken Wings in Korean Sauce stunning as was Cauliflower Tempura. Steak Sandwich to follow was succulent and so tender. Cajun Chicken Pasta amazing a lot of it !!! The waiter was lovely so attentive. Great place to eat can't wait to take our son and partner who are real foodies. A Must Go To Place ❤️
