Balmakewan Farm Shop & Tea Room
West Balmakewan Coach House, North Water Bridge, LaurencekirkIt is superb. Staff and food alike. Arrived just at 3 but we were still made very welcome. I recommend everything.
One hazard however is the driveway. Take your time, is all I can say.

The Arch Cafe & Bistro
The Arch Cafe and Bistro, Main St, Fettercairn, LaurencekirkMy daughter & I stumbled across this delightful cafe after doing the Rocks of Solitude walk. We are visiting from Australia and after 3 weeks of traveling around Scotland we can confidently say this was the best coffee we’ve had since we’ve been here. Throw in friendly & prompt service, beautiful decor, delicious Mac n cheese and chats with locals and it was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had. Wish we lived closer-we’d be regulars!
