5 Castle St, Lochmaben, LockerbieI can't believe that we've spent all these years visiting the area on holiday and actually live here now and we've only just discovered this place.Such a great selection of ice cream flavours, that keeps changing and it's really good value too. No wonder there's a continuous stream of people going in to get ice cream.

Kings Arms
15 High St, Lochmaben, LockerbieStayed here for one night with group of friends. Excellent evening meal and superb breakfast, thank you Arthur. The bathrooms in the hotel rooms could do with a bit of attention but the rooms were clean and comfortable. The only criticism I can make is the staffing levels need looking at. On checking in the young lady on duty appeared to be having to do everything reception, showing guests to their room, serving food, clearing tables and serving behind the bar. All this she achieved politely and with a smile. Would definitely stay here again.

Copper Beech Restaurant
Hetland Hall Hotel, DumfriesDinner menu was pretty decent. I had haddock & chips which was ok, but not exceptional. Breakfast faired better. Full Scottish AND continental options were available, with bottomless tea, coffee & juices.
