It's opening hours are very scarce, but if you're doing your own trip through the area at the right time, I can highly recommend it. Great prices, super friendly locals, a very small selection of anything that isn't whiskey. Get amongst it people.

I'll start with the positives- Staff were polite, friendly and efficient. The restaurant/cafe and shop are extremely well presented. The shop has a huge selection of lovely art, books, gifts, beauty and food/drink items. Something for everyone. I must admit, at first glance, I found the food selection on the menu a bit odd but I was willing to keep an open mind. For example- sweet potato, red pepper, harissa and leek soup seemed like a strange combo. I had the Miso Mushrooms which were listed as mushrooms in a miso cream sauce served on toast. You could definitely taste the distinct umami flavour of the miso. Unfortunately the saltiness built up on the palate and became quite strong over time. The dish was served on a side plate, so it was fairly small and with a price tag of almost £10 I didn't feel it offered very good value for money. The pancakes were also quite small and thin, though a bit better value at £6. For portion size and vfm the BLT seemed the most substantial. The open tuna sandwich was also quite small and served on a side plate for almost £10. Even the soup didn't fill the bowl and just looked watery. Several in the party were still hungry when they had finished their meals. For two people including food, drinks, puddings and tip, I spent £31.

Me and my girlfriend, during our journey around Scotland, have been in Tornhill last spring, visiting a friend of us. Tornhill is one of the quietest place on the earth, and truly scottish. With the owner, Margaret, we felt more than at home. She is hearty and lovely. Her place is the typical dream house, and our room was coozy and quite. Bathroom incredibly clean and there were every stuff we needed. Last but not least: another reason to visit Tornhill and stop by Margaret's house? Her AMAZING scottish breakfast!!! We'r still dreaming of it... We'd like to thank also her husband John, very nice guy. We'll come back there very soon! Matteo&Giorgia

Very popular here during lunchtime, I opted for a Scotch pie, and sausage roll, the pie was packed with meat and tasty, sausage roll very good too. The sandwiches and salads are made to order and looked good, some hot food options too. I picked up some local pickle too. Nice service, good bakers!

My husband and I were on a bike tour, and this place was recommended along the way. I’m so happy we stopped here! Everyone was very friendly, I loved my cranberry, Brie, and bacon sandwich, and they had a cute gallery in a back room. I’d definitely come back if I were in the area again :)
