Giovanni Italian Bistro
7 High St, PenicuikI could not recommend Giovanni Bistro highly enough. We had a small 40th party in the house and had our food delivered to the house. It all looked amazing and tasted even better than it looked. The service was just fantastic right from the start. I will never go anywhere else for catering again. Definitely a 5* review from us. Spice House Penicuik
28 The Square, PenicuikWe fancied something different for a change for dinner. First time we have used Spice House for a takeaway. We were not disappointed thats for sure. We ordered Duck spring rolls for a starter then Special Pad Thai Prawns and a Spice House Special Biryani. There was so much food the tops of the containers were bulging. All I can say is wow, more than enough duck spring rolls, the Biryani is the best I have had in a long time , packed with lots of tasty meat, my wife commented on the plentiful amount of prawns that was in her Pad Thai Prawns. We will definitely use again and highly recommend.

Pentland Hills Cafe Express
Floterstone information centre, Edinburgh, PenicuikAbsolutely superb food and service. Thank you all. All 12 of us descended on you, hungry and thirsty in the heat. We were served great coffee, the best panini you could wish for and best of all, huge slabs of fantastic cakes!
I don't know how you do it in such a small space. But, we were very grateful. Thanks ❤️

The Old Crown Inn
13-13a High St, PenicuikOn route from Dundee to Edinburgh we stopped in Penicuik for the night.
We wanted to grab a pint at a proper pub and came across The Old Crown. What a great pub with friendly locals. Sammy the bartender was wonderful, friendly and just a generally great lass. She recommended a local craft beer that hit the spot (a few times).
We highly recommend a drop into this charming, sweet pub for some pints and chat with the locals, it made our day!

136 John St, PenicuikIt was quiet when we went in but soon filled up a bit. The staff that were on were great. One was in training. He was well supervised. The menu has a great variety and is well priced. We had the mac and cheese. Choice of chip cut too. Will definitely be going back

15 High St, PenicuikAfter just moving to Penicuik, we have noticed there are 4 Chinese food outlets close to us. Lord of noodles was the 3rd one we tried and it was delicious and the best yet. Everything is cooked for customers to see and everyone was friendly when ordering. Quick service and good value for money. Will definitely be ordering again.

i enjoy singapore rice noodles normally served with spice . i alway ask for it to be not as spicy . Today no spice —- absolutely amazing . all the other dishes went very well with the noodles . i’m always looking to try different dishes. . if uour reading this you should try it for wee change . sinipore rice noodles normally served spicy- ask for no spice rather than rice !!

Food Lodge Restaurant
1 High St, PenicuikNew to the area, we decided to try The Food Lodge last night. I had the best ever Vegan Beancurd and Sweetcorn soup plus Vegan Chicken in Szechuan Sauce with Coconut Rice. My partner had Chicken Satay starter and Chicken Curry with fried rice and we both can say it was all was delicious. It was cold but this did not detract from the food. The waitress was very helpful and answered all my vegan questions. Looking forward to eating there again.

Kebabs are amazing and the burgers are absolutely brilliant. Flame grilled burgers and you can actually taste it.
Been ordering hear for about 2 years + now. Wouldn’t go anywhere else in Penicuik.
Quarter pounder cheese burgers or the yankie doodle dandie burger! Brilliant!
The kebabs are really amazing also.
I’ve had my fair share of kebabs else where but Corfu is defo the best for kebabs and burgers

Yu Chinese Takeaway
44B John St, PenicuikDon't know about the atmosphere as it was a takeaway, but the best sweet and sour I've ever had. Actual sauce not pink gloop like most other Chinese takeaways. My wife had satay prawns which were also very good. Delivery was for 18:00 and the man was there on the dot. Very impressed will be the go to from now on.

That good ordered another 2 to reheat tomorrow for lunch or dinner tomorrow, staff always cheerful and attentive weather you order on phone or visit the shop they always good banter.

Marmaris Penicuik Takeaway
24 High St, PenicuikGot a large chicken kebab, Saturday 17 august night, was beautiful and large, chicken lovley, was that nice ordered the same next night, massive difference, different cut of chicken, different chicken altogether. Plus looked like a small when ordered large. If I for once thought I'd have this problem would have took a picture of Saturday night's, compared to our small Sunday night ones, £28 sat night with a bottle of iron bru. Then we spent another £24 on the Sunday plus a missing sauce. Inconsistency let's this place down, unfortunately.
