Fantastic cafe with great coffee, home made mouth watering cakes, fabulous wholesome soups - a gem of a cafe, what a treat! Very cosy and welcoming ambiance too if you want to sit-in.

Navaar House Bar & Bistro

Best macaroni cheese and according to my mum the sherry trifle reminds her of the one my grandma made her. Its always lovely when you find a place that serves great food that can also provide comforting memories. Staff as always were friendly and attentive.

Giovanni Italian Bistro

Giovannis is the perfect place to eat in or take out. The food is always fresh and delicious with impeccable service! Recently Giovannis made me a Lemon Drizzle birthday cake with very short notice, big enough for 18 people, and it tasted phenomenal. Such a heart warming place to visit, good wholesome food! Thank you!

Fionas cooking is out of this world.This wee cafe does the best chowder I've ever had,amazing roast beef rolls and homebakes.I go every Friday for the specials..but go anytime to try their filled rolls with homemade coleslaw.Great value for money a wee find...

The Old Crown Inn

Its one of those few traditional pubs that still cater for a relaxed refreshment. Obviously catering for events dear to regular customers hearts and the bar staff might well listen - they might not as well, which is the age old battle between landlord and demanding customers. The conversation is always about retaining things we love and these things we value; on occasion to the passer by it sounds like moaning but often thats just the pain of caring. Local pubs serve a purpose for local communities, turn up and you can help define that.

Just had the best breakfast roll in my life! The staff were smiley and friendly and my food arrived in no time at all. I even got to choose whether my fried egg was soft or hard! Nothing but perfection and a great start to the day, thank you!

Food Lodge Restaurant

On holidays from Australia and was recommended here by a local couple we met in the Royal Hotel in Penecuik.We had a really lovely meal and was helped by the two lovely ladies who looked after us.We had the pork with mushroom and oyster sauce and a yeung chow fried rice. Would recommend ?

The chicken is so fresh and very good quality, same goes for every dish I've had.In a nutshell you don't feel like your eating food that's more than 24hrs old.

Yu Chinese Takeaway

Best place in Penicuik for a Chinese takeaway. Same price as everywhere else but you get about 2x as much food. Never need to wait too long for a delivery either.

The Tower

First time coming to Penicuik & ordering a portion of fish and chips from The Tower (+ another portion of chips). The food is fresh & tasted absolutely amazing! I would highly recommend to anyone passing by.

The Pennycook

Have ordered food from here on several occasions and never disappoints. I particularly love the fish, crisp, light batter with beautiful quality fish. You can tell the oil is really clean as the food never leaves that heavy feeling. Nice, cheerful delivery person too!
