Capilla Tapas Restaurant

I have had the pleasure of dining here on several occasions. The atmosphere is truly excellent, the staff is outstanding, and the food is simply wonderful. The garlic prawns are absolutely exquisite, as is the honey chicken. Should you find yourself in Thurso or simply passing through, I highly recommend adding this establishment to your list of places to experience.

Captain's Galley Restaurant

Arrived for lunch with ex colleagues expecting the regular menu, however the restaurant was offering a special Greek week menu ! Wow! What a fabulous lunch… we had several of the small sharing plates - which were absolutely delicious!! Great advice from the friendly waitress about how many portions would best suit us. We were too full for dessert but the chef accommodated our wish to finish with something sweet by offering us mini chocolate brownies with our coffee! So enjoyed by us all …. can’t wait to go back soon ! Thank you all at The Captain’s Galley!

Pride of Bengal Indian Restaurant and Takeaway

The food was excellent. The staff were friendly and chatty. They have cobra (many restaurants have it on the menu by not in stock) The restaurant was very quiet but it is January. I've eaten here before and will return next time I'm in Thurso. After a long week I really enjoyed the meal - thanks

Jamieson Bakery

Walking on High Street in the completely underrated town of Thurso we walked by this bakery. Read good things online, so we went in to get some snacks.

Bought some cupcakes, donuts and a slice of apple pie. All tasted actually fantastic. Donut was soft, fresh, with a good bite and nice sugar on top. The cupcake was heaven - really rich, heavy and full of buttery flavours. Nice topping as well.

Still, the star of the show was definitely the apple pie. It's been many years since we've had a great apple pie like this (the 66 Diner in Albuquerque is the only one on par that comes to mind).

Great crunchy crust. Inside real good chunks of wonderful apples. Nice balance between apple and sugary sauce. It just was so rewarding breaking through the crust to dig in the wonderful apple filling. Fantastic. And surely not to be missed.

Caffe Cardosi

A great wee cafe in the heart of Thurso with a good selection of food and drinks on the menu and delicious cakes from the counter. The staff were friendly and welcoming and my latte and roll were delicious. Very vibrant with a nice atmosphere, plenty seating and nice decor.

Thurso Community Café

What a wonderful place this has become. I'm sorry to say we only had an opportunity to visit once before moving out of the area.This is more than just a cafe that serves wholesome food and cakes, this is a community hub which cares about the most vulnerable in our society, and it deserves all the support it can be given :) Wonderful people and a wonderful concept that I hope inspires other places to follow suit across the UK :)Parking: Outside the cafe there is plenty of easy car parking for anyone wishing to visit.

Mr C's Bar

Easy to find, exceptional friendly service from Julie and her team. Lots of choice with home made cakes and pastries, plenty of seatng, reasonable priced and clean. The Cafe is famous for it full Highland Breakfast which is available all day.Plenty of free parking opposite atll the playing field car park where you will also find an electric charging point for vehicles.

'The Upper Deck' restaurant

Absolutely spot on. Doing classics but doing them very well. Taking advantage of the fish available to them.
Best fish supper I've ever had. Scallops were so fresh they barely needed cooked.
I was very pleasantly surprised. Staff were great.
Table beside us ordered fillets steaks all well done.
You're in Scrabster. Eat fish!

Top Joe's

Good pub to visit when in Thurso. Pleasant watering hall says my husband! Good, fair prices and central. Service is attentive. We didn't eat there so I can not tell something about that.

Peerie Cafe

Was in today lovely little place. Crazy busy food was excellent. Will definitely be back. well done to the girls, they were so accommodating and couldn’t have been more polite about the fact there would be a little wait. 5 * to them.

Taco East

Taco East is a taco van based in Thurso but is also doing events at the John O Groats Mill in August & September. Book in your orders early to avoid disappointment!
We got the pork tacos which were delicious. About time Caithness got some Mexican food ?? very tasty ?

T's Café Restaurant

I'd never had Sri Lankan food before so I didn't know I was missing out. Stand out had to be the Kottu which I'll definitely be finding out how to make. Great food with veggie and vegan options and lovely friendly owners. Would recommend!

Olive

lovely place and staff are very helpful and up for a natter . I am GF and today I had a toasted sandwich chicken and cheese it was lovely. I highly recommend this place

Popeyes

Wonderful, friendly pub, stopped in before my ferry. Staff are lovely and the whole place has a super friendly vibe. Didn't try any, but food looks n smells cracking.

The Grove Lounge

Really like the place ? the food was delicious (got the highland burger and nachos) and there were also some locals in the bar that also brought their dogs which was nice to see ?
One of them even ordered a sausage for our dog! That was lovely

Spice Tandoori

Oh, man! I haven't eaten from there before but - WOW! Prawn dansak, just... wow! And the veg?? Good lord, the rice... another wow. A side dish that I forgot the name of... just... I've got to say wow, again, because I probably shouldn't curse on a review.

You've GOT to try this place. Holy.... wow!

Tesco Cafe

Nice wee place and well looked after. The fayre is less so great for me but that's what Tesco's offer and the staff do their best.It's a good cuppa though.

The Blue Door Coffee Shop & Diner

Blue Door Burgers & Shakes is a cracking little American-style cafe. I had the Lone Star burger and it was spot on, full of flavour. The coffee was awesome too, nice and hot just how it should be. Friendly staff, a great atmosphere and a place that does a proper burger.

Johnstons Of Thurso

The staff here are very accommodating …… the hotel is a little dated but under new ownership so work in progress . The room was clean & comfortable and the food was excellent and great value , breakfast was included in the price , free car parking …. so all in all a great place to stay that won’t break the bank .

Y Not Bar & Grill

The restaurant was super busy and we were a walk in, the staff were great and got us seated ASAP on one of the last tables.

The staff were super friendly, 2 of them doing front of house/serving at a full restaurant, and you could not tell! They were on it and hardly any delays at all!

Food was fab, good kids choice too...my sourdough pizza was the best I've ever had (although it was massive and I needed my husband and little girl to help finish it❤️).

Thanks very much for the warm welcome and excellent food...we needed that after a long day of travelling!

Thurso Best Kebab

Don't let any negative reviews fool you - this place has amazing food and the people there are great too. Thurso Best Kebab has the best pizza in Scotland (I'm an experienced pizza consumer).
