Stiperstones, ShrewsburyWas driving past, saw the pub n popped in for Sunday lunch. I'm so glad I did. Despite being mom's day n being busy, as I entered, I was greeted with a very warm welcome n was found a table. I had the lamb shank, which was lovely. I'd just finished my meal as the owner came over n offered me a free glass of prosseco, despite the fact I said I wasn't a mom. This pub has been in the same family for over 50 years n the current owner has ran it for 25, so that tells you something. What a lovely friendly, inviting pub. Pop in if you're passing.

Little Efes
Holly House, Minsterley, ShrewsburyWe got a very large fish and chips and mixed chicken kebab special takeaway midweek. It was cooked promptly and the server (who seemed like the proprietor) was very hospitable and friendly.
The quality of the chicken kebab with grilled vegetables and the naan especially were fantastic. It seemed to me genuinely authentic tasty food rather than the usual cheap takeaway setup.
