We arrived to the table set and with a high chair as we had requested, and a friendly member of staff took our food and drinks order

Food arrived very promptly and was very tasty and served pipping hot. Good value for the food

Pub was spotlessly clean, and all the service was friendly and efficient

We visited the establishment after spending time at The British Ironworks museum, we hadn't booked but we were given a nice welcome by the staff on duty and told we could sit were it suited us.\n\nWe browsed the menu and ordered at the bar, Thai curry, scampi and chips, hunters chicken, and my friends wife had a shared starter of Loaded fries with pulled pork and some chicken strips.\n\nFood arrived, hot and fresh and all plates were cleared.\n\nWe ordered dessert of Jam Sponge(2) and Custard, Apple crumble and a brownie sundae, again all dishes cleared.\n\nA couple of Guinness 0%,2 halves of lager and lime and 2 J2O,rounded off our afternoon.\n\nAround 5:30pm the pub started to fill up with locals so we sat outside to finish our drinks and have a natter.\n\nNice pub with attentive staff, next time in the area would i go back...without a doubt.

I used to be a pastry chef, and a lot of places charge these prices for croissants etc when they're really just ok. These croissants from Niche were some of the best I've had. The lamination was perfect, and they had the right amount of filling in them. Can't fault them at all. Also took away some of their baguettes and granola and they were also wonderful. Everything made to a really high standard and you won't be disappointed if you grab some snacks from here.

Prezzo Oswestry \nI was meeting a large group of friends here, there are currently few places in Oswestry where this is possible, but Prezzo had no problem accommodating a table for 18 people. We were seated at the rear of the restaurant quite comfortably and another similar size table was next to us. I worried it would be quite noisy but the acoustics seem to be sorted and it was possible to hear the conversation on our table. \n\nThe restaurant had asked for a pre order prior to arrival, however this proved impossible to organise so we ordered off the a la carte menu rather than the group menu (which would have been cheaper). \n\nI ordered the goats cheese and red pepper salad, followed by two scoops of ice cream (vanilla and chocolate). I also had a glass of Pinot Grigio. My dinner was great. All the food arrived at about the same time which was good and people choosing other dishes were very happy with their choices, mostly a variety of pasta dishes. \n\nThe service was very good, the waitress seemed quite experienced with handling large, confusing tables, and our order arrived with no mistakes. We had a great meal and would definitely eat here again if in Oswestry.

Called here purely by chance on the way home to Yorkshire, fabulous decor, brilliant staff, lovely food and the finer touches everywhere didn’t go unnoticed (eg loved the wallpaper and buffets by the pool table and the extra toiletries in the bathrooms, and amazing fresh smell - never been in such a nice public toilets). Would highly recommend and will definitely call again. (PS did the lost collie find its way home?)

One of the oldest pubs in Oswestry, lovely historical building and cosy, warm atmosphere on the inside.Fantastic true cask ales, great outdoors seating area, covered porch and just a proper true, great pub. Being opposite St. Oswalds church adds to it's special character and even better looking at it from St. Oswalds church grounds.The staff are so welcoming and friendly and so are the locals who frequent the Oak Inn.Thanks to you all for such an amazing pub and experience.Will be back and certainly recommend a visit to this pub to properly experience it all!

Fantastic food and superb service, after a long old slog of a week we decided to treat ourselves to a meal out and we both said let’s go to the griffin like it was a no brainer, draft rhubarb cider, honey chicken starter and fish & chips with crackin mushy peas. Staying in the town for one night and spotted this little gem so popped in for a bottle of wine and a sharing cheeseboard. The owners are so friendly and fun! The dog was very warmly welcomed in fact it was her name on the reserve sign on table saying bringing well behaved adults. Very amusing!

Great village pub,landlord even opened up early for us as stated time said 4oclock opening but should of been 5.All the staff made us feel welcome Three Tuns on draught was a great pint and the food was great value .All the locals made us feel welcome, great view from the beer garden listening to some good tunes from the outside speakers watching the local farmer bailing hay.

There were enough chips in a small portion to feed a family of four so quite a bit was wasted, so I’ll make a point of requesting a smaller portion in future. An absolutely fabulous hotel with fabulous staff the meals are fabulous too, made to feel welcome as soon as you arrive the rooms are very comfortable everything you need for a relaxing break, the views from the hotel are beautiful . We will definitely return ❤️❤️

Great Pub with really friendly and helpful Staff who accommodated a large group of 30. Food was amazing and would recommend anyone to visit if you are in the area. Great British Pubs do still exist
