The Grn, leonard's Road, Claygate, EsherAbsolutely fabulous lunch, we have never seen such an extensive menu - I am disabled, the proprietor and a member of staff literally carried me in from the pavement into the restaurant on one of their chairs, I could not ask for such exemplary kindness and the food and the choices were out of this world! We cannot recommend this gem opposite Claygate Green more highly!

132 High St, EsherOur restaurant of choice for special occasions - the food is amazing and the service attentive; nothing is too much trouble for them. Holy Sweet is to die for but the ginger and honey ice cream comes a close second! Free parking after 7pm in the car park by Waitrose, just a few minutes walk away, or on street parking available for those less mobile. Five stars don’t seem enough for this establishment!

10 The Parade, Claygate, EsherI had been working away in Epsom all weekend, so popped in on spec, having not booked a table, and I was fitted in no problem. Pleasant staff catered for me very well. The food was excellent, I had a vegetable Pathia, and poppadums, with mushroom pilau rice.
Vegetarian options: As is usual with Indian / Bangladeshi restaurants, most of the regular dishes have a vegetarian option
Parking: You have to park in the street and it is a very busy area, or you can park about 200 yards away on a paid car park

Alma Rd, EsherFirst visit Saturday night with a few friends for a bite to eat & drinks. Burgers were reccomended so all 5 of us had one....absolutely spot on ! Very tasty burgers & all served hot & quickly. We all agreed best food out in quite some time...we will be back again soon !!

4 The Parade, Claygate, EsherStill my favourite Chinese restaurant after 18 years. The food is beautifully cooked and presented and we are always greeted warmly by the owner. I think I've had the prawns in butter sauce every time I've been because it's the best thing I've ever tasted. Please don't ever stop doing it because I've never seen it anywhere else! I also recommend the soft shell crab and beef and cashew. Thank you for a lovely evening celebrating my son's birthday.

40 Esher Grn, EsherFabulous food, we really enjoyed it. Friendly staff. We much prefer to sit in the bar area rather than the restaurant because we like the atmosphere and you tend not to get families with young children, but you can no longer book tables (you used to be able to book certain bar tables under previous ownership). The other niggle is that they really don’t like you having a tab, even when dining. I can understand this if sitting outside as it would be very easy to walk off without paying, but it’s irritating to have to pay for every round and the food separately, particularly if splitting the bill and one of you is saving the table. I’m aware of secure card-safe storage in pubs and think they should have something like this so that they are assured the bill will be covered and you don’t have to keep paying every time you want an extra thing.\n\nThe other thing is that whilst they have a car park it isn’t that big and is perhaps used by people nipping into Esher. There were only two spaces left when we arrived for a weekday lunch even though the pub itself was very quiet.\n\nThose are the only niggles though, the food really is excellent.

When we checked the reviews, a couple were surprising in their comments but on balance we decided to go ahead, place an order and make our own minds up. We are happy to report the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. And, the food both excellent and fair value for money. We were a group of eight, so tried a good selection of dishes and are happy to report we will order again.

We had a chicken tikka biryani and a chicken tikka karahi, delivered to eat at home, and the food was outstanding. My biryani was perfectly cooked to my preferred level of heat, and was packed with meat, the sauce full of vegetables. The karahi likewise had big tender chunks of chicken, and the onions brought a lovely sweetness to the sauce. The portions were generous too :)
I'll certainly be ordering from there again.

29 The Parade, Claygate, EsherGenuinely nice family running the shop. Very friendly atmosphere, mum and daughter are very chatty. I went on Friday evening just for some chips, they were excellent and fresh. However they only take cash payment, which is fine by me as I'm old school. Do check if they are open in the month of August as they close the shop for holiday.

Food is great - well priced, superb quality. The team are consistently attentive, customer focused and on the ball. I had to extend my stay by several days and the front desk team worked hard to make it as seamless as possible and accommodated my requirements. Special shout out to Savannah - super competent, efficient and above all really lovely to deal with.

14 Manor Rd N, Hinchley Wood, EsherDebbie provided us with a delicious afternoon tea following a family funeral. Everything was freshly made and delivered perfectly on time. Our guests had nothing but praise for the food, including a great selection of sandwiches, canapes, including mini quiches and vol-au-vents, cakes, scones and fresh fruit tarts. The mini Cornish pasties, still warm from the oven, disappeared within minutes!

Does a good range of coffee and limited food options, good quality generally but the coffee prices are fairly steep with a ‘suggested’ tip proposed for each card transaction which I didn’t much care for. Has some nice photography on the walls of various mountain passes.

Sam and her team were very easy to deal with and quick to respond to us.The clubhouse was beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations and the lighting was nicely dimmed. There was a great selection of drinks available and the canapés were fresh, hot and very delicious.We have rebooked for our summer party already.Highly recommend.Dietary restrictions: Sam was very helpful in letting us know all ingredients to account for the few in our party who had gluten and nut allergies.Wheelchair accessibility: This venue is all one level and has a disabled loo and a wide hallway.

Brightwater Brewery Platform 3
Station Approach, The Parade, Claygate, EsherA real quirky and pleasant drink to be had here. Alex the friendly owner serves up some really tasty beers on offer. The little nipper has a really good hoppy taste for the ABV and the coal porter was one of the nicest porters I've had. This has been on my list to come and visit for a while and I'm glad I got round to finally doing it.
On another note, the comment below about the footbridge can be ignored now as it has been repaired, so you can walk over the bridge from the London bound platform with ease. Cheers! ?

The Grn, Claygate, EsherI just had to write and share how lovely my meal was last night. Although very busy at 6pm on a Friday night with a full booking of the restaurant for a function, we were give a warm welcome by bar staff and customers. The menu wasn’t huge but offered a good range of choices . As a vegetarian I had the choice of two very different mains and I chose the (V) Oven Baked Aubergine Salad – couscous, ratatouille, halloumi, tomato, Rocket oil, pickle slaw salad - £15.00 and it was gorgeous, cooked to perfection and the perfect meal for a cold winters night. So often the vegetarian option is an after thought on pub menus, put there to tick a box but this was truly delicious and they knew how to cook halloumi ! My friend also thoroughly enjoyed her fish and chips. I just wish I’d had room for a pudding as I later heard from some others that they’d loved theirs.
