185 Whitley Rd, Whitley BayJust visited tonight with my friends. The staff were just so friendly helpful and attentive. One of my friends spilt her lager all over her curry. Our waiter whisked her meal away with a smile and replaced it with a new one at no extra cost. I just felt nothing was too much trouble for the staff. \nThe food was just very tasty with plenty of good quality meat and veg and lots of it too. We had to bring the remains away in doggy bags as there was so much.

10 E Parade, Whitley BayThe food was excellent, but service was extremely slow. We had a 6pm reservation, and were quite early, and we did not leave until well past 8 and there were only four of us, and we had to ask for the bill while ordering dessert to even get out that quickly. On two separate occasions, a server asked if we needed anything, and then disappeared, never bringing whatever it was we asked for, until a different server came to ask if we needed anything and we repeated the request. Nothing we ordered was complicated enough that it should have taken almost 3 hours for a meal.

7, 8 East Parade, Whitley BayBeen to the Takdir numerous times now over many years, regular customers and used to go back in the old building! The quality has never dropped. Staff are as lovely as always/ Fantastic take away and restaurant. And lovely decoration!

238 Park View, Whitley BayThis is our favourite restaurant in the north east. Hard to beat really for quality and value. Food is excellent, menu varied, interesting and good for vegetarians/vegans. The Chef’s speciality dishes are tasty, my fave is the Chicken, Spinach and Black Pepper. They offer the usual dishes you find in Bangladeshi and Indian restaurants, but there is a big variety of less well known dishes that never disappoint. Service is very good and its always nice to have white linen cloths and napkins as well as fresh flowers on the table. Book to avoid disappointment, it’s always busy.

Dixy Chicken, 210 Whitley Rd, Whitley BayI love my fried chicken and I’ve been to many KFCs around the world. When it comes to Dixys in the UK it’s always hit and miss, but my word the food at Whitley Bay Dixy’s was without a doubt the best I’ve had in the UK. The chicken was so tender and just perfectly fried.
My daughter had Peri(or Piri), whatever it’s called, and she loved it, a bit spicy but delicious.
The staff were so friendly too.
Definitely recommend and will be back next time I’m here.

65 Victoria Terrace, Whitley BayFriendly staff I'd like to start off with. So I'm a chef by trade, I ordered one portion of chips as I bought a pizza from sainsburys. Chips weren't very hot but very yummy so after midnight I made an online order from there website not "just eat" for a pickup as I live close.. I got another portion of chips thinking they'd be hotter considering I pre-orded second time but again unfortunately some quality not very hot but I'd have them again, I got a 10inch chicken pizza not too much hotter than the chips unfortunately, pizza quality I'd say was a 4/5 star with room to improve. I love spice so I also ordered jalapeño poppers with the chilli sauce option, unfortunately the Jalapeño was not a full chilli inside like most takeouts so disappointed on that as hotter the better for me personally but both the poppers and chilli sauce was not spicy so that was a shame but still tasty none the less.. A TV in the takeaway would be nice to watch while you wait.

Claremont Cres, Whitley Lodge, Whitley BayThis place is a hidden gem. Really enjoyed the evening here. We were in a group of six or so. The team catered for us brilliantly all evening, good selection of drinks and wines and a very competitively priced menu. All up everyone loved their meals. Service was excellent by the way.

Unit 6 Park View Shopping Cent, Park Ave, Whitley BayWe both had a latte and cakes, different to each other, coffee was well made, the cakes were fresh and delicious. It's true that the staff are under pressure, lots of customers, few staff, but they were all working hard, the two who I had direct contact with were friendly, smiley and did a good job. All Costas have problems but this Whitley Bay branch is worth 4 ?

Don't be disparaged about the four stars as the food from here is more than fine it was just the coffee station was a mess & it's bin was on the verge of over flowing as well as white sugar sachets were few & napkins were missing, despite such I'd still use & go back to this Greggs & my criticisms only demonstrate that this is a popular Greggs.

We use take out regularly but have been let down a few times so we tried Shahenshah as we had dined there a few years ago. The food is fab and we will definitely be using again.

10 Station Rd, Whitley BayOrdered takeaway from here tonight and it was great. The food was hot when it arrived. Spicy dishes were indeed spicy. The dal was great (full of garlic though so worth noting if you don't, like us, love it). Delivery took about an hour (longer than quoted) and they use a lot of food dye (hence the 4 stars).
Regardless, this is a reliable place for a takeaway and well worth a go. Delivery person was also great.
Vegetarian options: The tarka dal is great. Rice options all lush. The nan bread is excellent. My friend also had a veg curry (maybe jalfrezi?) and loved it.

The last 4 or 5 times I've noticed both the salad and chip portions have become a lot smaller but my biggest problem with my last order today is the numpty who packed my order thought it would be a good idea to put my salad in between my chips and kabab, hence my salad was almost as hot as the kabab.

There's plenty of seating for all sized parties of people. Lovely seats by the window and large tables for up to 6 - 8 people. \nThe breakfasts are second to none - I've stayed here many times and they never let you down. There's hot & cold breakfast items - plenty of choice and breakfast foods are replenished regularly. The staff are totally ontop of the service and nothing's a problem for them.\nNo wait time as the breakfast are buffet style. They staff are very accommodating and have allowed people in who arrive very close to the published end time for breakfast.

Marine View, Seaton Sluice, Whitley BayI visited The Astley today for a little pit stop with my husband,2 daughters and our dog. We bought drinks and our daughters had a bottomless icecream each. I have to say we were really impressed with how friendly the staff were. A member of staff offered us a bowl of water for the dog and another gave him some treats when he brought our order over. The icecream is really good value for money, girls help themselves to the machine and there is a variety of toppings. It makes such a difference when the staff are so friendly and pleasant. We will definitely be returning.

1-3 Beresford Rd, Seaton Sluice, Whitley BayGood speedy service. Batter a little overdone on the fish. Think there was a mix up and they charged us for 3 portions of chips but mistakes happen and it was very busy with it being Seaton Sluice harbour day. I do think it is expensive compared to other fish and chip shops in the area. I would return and hope to enjoy a meal inside next time.

Small seating area due stairs and another upstairs via two sets of steep stairs (no elevator), Order at main counter (also for takeaway) and given number for food to be delivered to table, Good quality fish (soft white cod in nice crispy batter). Service was quick, food hot and tasty. Mushy peas very authentic. Toilets on first floor. Good traditional fish and chips in Whitely Bay.

I’d picked out the Red House Farm Public House venue as our destination.\n\nThe first thing that struck me on entering the Red House Farm Public House is how huge and spacious this venue is, it’s massive! We were just a walk-in, with no table booked. Staff were very helpful, courteous and genuinely friendly, a young lad from behind the bar immediately brought our dogs a bowl of water to our table without us even having to ask, nice one, this was most considerate on a very hot and sunny day in August.\n\nAmbiance good, music is played but at a level of volume you can happily engage in conversation without having to strain to hear or shout to be heard.\n\nThe girlfriend ordered us in a couple of pints of Heineken shandy, these came in chilled glasses, we then both opted for the three courses for £19.95 per head off the special’s board displayed at the bar.\n\nFor starters we picked the Southern Fried Mushrooms with BBQ sauce, for mains we’d both selected the Balmoral Chicken stuffed with Haggis and Black Pudding wrapped in Bacon and for desserts two Peach Melba Ive-Cream Sundaes.\n\nFood came out within good time without too much wait between the courses. The mushroom starters were pretty good, although I’d have jazzed up the side salad with a bit of red onion and some salad dressing.\n\nMains were fine although the roasties were a little overcooked and not crispy on the outside but the stuffed chicken itself was delicious and the Yorkshire puddings huge, the extra gravy and vegetables were fine.\n\nThe desserts were lovely. Although I might have had a couple of tiny niggles with the side salad and roasties, on the whole the food was good and decent portions served up, we were left feeling sufficiently stuffed.\n\nWe both enjoyed more drinks outside in the sun before eventually leaving to go home after an enjoyable afternoon.\n\nI’m more than happy enough to recommend the Red House Farm Public House.

Claremont Cres, Whitley BayWe booked a table as a family in the quiet lounge as my daughter is autistic, and she prefers to be in a smaller space.
We ordered Sunday dinners and thankfully they did nuggets and chips for kids so my daughter had that.
I am Gluten Free, and haven’t had a good Sunday dinner out for a long time, so was pleased to see the whole menu GF. I wanted the mushroom wellington as I’m veggie too but unfortunately they had just sold the last one. I just had a veg dinner, and it was really lovely. The Yorkshire pudding was the nicest I’ve ever had, it actually tasted like a ‘real’ one. The veg was all nice and gravy lovely.
My daughter enjoyed her food too.
The staff were really friendly too which was lovely.
Really nice, can’t wait to go back again.

As others have said, this is a 'proper' boozer with one bar and two 'almost' separate rooms. There are several screens showing sky sports etc. Great atmosphere, well kept beers and also homemade jams available (book these in advance). Didn't try any food but the beers are well kept & there's a good selection of drinks at the bar. We always pop in for a couple before going for a curry at Shukran or Whitley Tandoori, when we're in Whitley Bay.

2A, 4 Park Ave, Whitley BayWe visited Sambuccas this evening and we were met by very friendly attentive staff. The food was delicious and the service was great. All served in a timely manner and with a smile. The only criticism that I have is that if you don't have cash there isn't the facility to leave a tip for the kitchen or front of House staff.
Evidently leaving a top on the card doesn't make it to the staff that have looked after you. I hope this changes as it's those staff that encourage repeat custom and that's the only reason I haven't given a 5 star review overall.
