Y Cyfnod Cafe & Bistro
48 High St, BalaWhat a lovely little Italian themed cafe and restaurant in Bala. We only chose this as the best out of what was on offer in the area, but was pleasantly surprised. It was clean, well lit, the staff were welcoming & polite, and the menu was inviting.
My partner ordered the Welsh Pate from the starter menu, and I an American Hot pizza, with a couple of additional toppings. Each of us also had a bottle of Snowdonia Craft lager (I had never had this lager before, but liked it so much that I bought six bottle to take home from the local supermarket).
The food was well presented and tasty. My partner told me that the pate was delicious. My pizza was very tasty, the base was thin and crispy, and very well presented. When my partner's bread ran out, she was very quickly provided with more upon request with no additional charge.
All in all, very nice, and would go again.
The only down side, and why I've given an overall 4 out of 5, the main door to the restaurant was opened wide for fresh air, even though no one was asked first if they wanted it opened. It wasn't exactly a warm evening, so we had cold air blowing into the seating area.

The Bulls Head
78 High St, BalaPopped in for a drink and to watch the football, staff were friendly and so accommodating, we had our pup with us and they even brought a bowl of water for her! Great pub!

It’s our fifth holiday staying in
Cerrigydrudion.
But first time in White Lion since it reopened last year.
We love the story of the community climbing together to save the place.
We stopped for a sandwich lunch which was excellent! Fresh, yummy hit the spot!
Came back today for a Sunday roast.
We started with garlic mushrooms on garlic bread and onion soup. For mains we took the veggie option and the beef, even the children portion was served with a yummy crunchy Yorkshire pudding the size of my head?
Food was gorgeous! our older son complained about getting the children’s portion but he was beaten by it and had to be carried out ?.
We had a couple of glasses of Shiraz wine which was beautiful.
The food was absolutely gorgeous!!! Simple menu executed perfectly.
Until next year when we return for our annual visit keep up the brilliant work guys.

Stryd Fawr, 41 High St, BalaNice pub in the Centre of Bala. We went in to watch the England game and it was busy but got a table and ordered drinks and crisps. It was very reasonably priced. We asked about ordering dinner and they advised that they weren't serving food but we could get food from outside and bring it in for the game. Staff were very friendly when we spoke to them and it is very dog friendly!

Caffi Woody's Cafe
2 Pensarn Rd, BalaPassing through by Bala Lake and stopped for a cuppa and bite to eat.
One latte and three small cake slices was just under £15. Plus the £5 we spent on parking up for under half an hour made it a very expensive and underwhelming experience, saved only by the stunning views of Bala Lake.

Badell Aur Restaurant
35 High St, BalaProper no frills fish and chips shop. They did have gluten free fish and chips as well as GF gravy and GF malt vinegar. They prep the gluten free options in a separate frier and it comes out labeled. However, they don’t make their own tartar sauce, and the batter and fries were very oily and lacking some flavor. But, I felt safe eating there. Big portions!
