TH Roberts
Parliament House, Bridge St, DolgellauI’ve been wanting to try this coffee shop for ages. I was delighted with the jacket potato with roasted vegetables and goats cheese. The Carvetti decaf coffee is excellent too. Friendly, family business in a unique setting of a former ironmongers of the late 1800s. Dog friendly too ?

Gwyndy Tearooms & Shop
Gwyndy, Bridge St, DolgellauMy family and I enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea at Gwyndy Tearooms today. The welcome was warm, the food was very tasty, fresh and filling, and the service was cordial, efficient and informative. I especially liked the orange and ginger cake, but the whole ensemble was put together with great skill and care with a clear intent to please. It was probably the nicest afternoon tea we've ever had.

Yr Hen Efail
4 Green Lane, DolgellauWe visited after a night away around 20 mins from dolgellau and it was on the way home for us. We phoned before arriving just to check if they served breakfast as it was nearing 11:30 and they said they served it until they closed at 2 which was great. I had the veggie breakfast and my partner had the english breakfast. It was really good and exceptional for the price. \nThank you! :)

Tynygroes hotel
Ganllwyd, DolgellauWe stopped in for lunch while on our Welsh Roadtrip and received with a warm welcome from the lovely lady behind the counter. The rarebit was absolutely perfect!!! Everything on the menu looks to be homemade. Would be a lovely overnight stop option as the accommodations are reasonably priced.

Royal Ship, Dolgellau
Queen's Square, DolgellauDelicious meal, lovely staff, beautiful decor. Only disappointment was the brandy and Irish coffees which were just black coffee with squinty cream. Actual meal, staff and venue was lovely.

Yr Unicorn
Smithfield Square, DolgellauGreat beer and service but too many telly's for us. OK if there is something special on but it was a distraction for a large group meeting up for a chat. Not the end of the world and we would go back.

Cosy Takeaway
Meyrick St, DolgellauIn-laws are local and recommended this fish and chip shop to us on a visit from England. All 6x of us enjoyed the food we ordered. Pleasant staff, can use card payment, good portions re chips/sausage/fish. We did think the pots of curry/mushy peas were too small, however, food is excellent and we will definitely return when we come back to Wales. Thank you!

Cross Foxes - Bar Grill Rooms
A487, Brithdir, DolgellauIf you’re anywhere near Snowdonia and don’t stop at The Cross Foxes, you’re missing out – big time. From the second you walk in, the staff make you feel like family – every single one of them. Huge shoutout to the chef too because the food here? Outstanding. Honestly, this is probably one of the best food reviews we’ve ever done. The restaurant itself is stunning – modern, spotless, and beautifully laid out. When the food arrives, it doesn’t just taste amazing – it looks like art on a plate. Perfect portion sizes, packed with flavour, and you can tell there’s passion in every dish. And here’s the kicker – if you’re travelling in a van or struggling to find a campsite, they’ll even let you stay in the car park if you grab some food or drinks. How’s that for hospitality? Combine that with the epic views of Snowdonia National Park, and you’ve got yourself a proper hidden gem. I don’t give 10/10 very often, but this place nails it. Everything is on point. Whether you’re passing through or need a place to crash for the night – do yourself a favour and come here. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ / 5 – Flawless.

Dolgellau Kebab Shop
2 Arran Rd, DolgellauI’m visiting on holiday and stumbled across this place - what a find! The kebabs are absolutely delicious, fresh and full of flavour, and it’s great to know the food is halal. The real highlight is the staff: so warm, friendly and welcoming that they made me feel at home. I’ll definitely be coming back before I leave.
