The Old White Horse Inn
12 High St, Pontneddfechan, NeathStopped here after poor weather meant cutting a trip short. We were welcomed warmly and offered a table next to a stunning log burner. The pub was cozy with a great selection of real ales and beer. We could choose from a full menu or lunch offers, a great choice on both from soup of the day, to burgers, steaks or curry (vegi & vegan options too). We opted for steak and ale pie a d homemade curry. Both were delicious and came with chunky real chips. Desserts looked wonderful, but mains filled us up...maybe next time! ?

The mine
Premier Store, High Street Rear of Cwmgwrach Stores, 24 High St, Cwmgwrach, NeathSaw some good reviews online so booked here for a family meal during a sightseeing trip to wales. Heart sank a bit as we walked up to the place - down a side alley behind a post office. However, once inside it had a really nice vibe. Small and intimate without feeling crowded. Food was amazing and really generous portions. Service was great too. Came in just shy of £90 for family of four (including 2 hungry teens) - which included two starters, mains and drinks. Have eaten in a lot of other places for same price and much less value. Would definitely recommend.
