Penrhiwllan Inn
Llandysul Road, New QuayWe read a warm welcoming and that’s exactly what we got with great food, great value for money and a proper traditional pub atmosphere.
I’d recommend booking as this place gets busy even mid week.

The Lime Crab
The Pier, S John St, New QuayWhilst staying a Quay West Haven we figured out that at low tide you can walk the beach to Newquay. About a 3hrs window. So one afternoon we did exactly that in search of food. We happened upon the lime crab with a few tables outside. So we stopped in. Now my experience of seaside chippies isn't great. Normally extortionate price. Poor portions and soggy food. But I can honestly say this place was great. Food was outstanding.good portions. Service good. Seaside prices but fair seaside prices. It was that good we returned the following day on the next low tide to try more of their scrummy food. I will come back to Newquay just for this place. Ps the gelato shop just up road is a must afterwards.
Returned two year later 2025 Lime Crab still excellent. £14 cod and chips. Decent size portions.

Penrhiwgaled Arms
Cross Inn, New Quay, LlandysulWe stayed at the caravan park just round the corner and spent a Sunday afternoon here. Friendly staff, decent beer and the Sunday lunches looked fantastic and I wished we’d have booked in for one. I believe you’ve just taken over this place, don’t change a thing, we loved it being a ‘proper’ pub!

Pasty Pasty
S John St, New QuaySuperb pasties - we had two today - one steak and ale and a chicken and leak. Two cans of 7 up zero. Service with a smile. A seat in the sun across the road in the garden overlooking the bay watching dolphins - what a superb lunch. My only regretted not buying two more to bring home.

The Captain's Rendezvous
Church St, New QuayCalled in late this evening just as they were beginning to wind down. They were the only place willing to make husband a coffee and me an ice cream with beaming smiles and the fact that they could be bothered when the others couldn’t was so human. Customer service was lovely even though they had probably had a long day. Will call in next time for food.
