The Sully Inn
4 Cog Rd, Sully, PenarthThis Sunday lunch came highly recommended by two dear friends of mine. It certainly came up trumps when a party of five of us dined there today. At only an hours notice did Nathan kindly accommodate us a table at the front of the restaurant. The decor is contemporary modern and the ambiance was perfect for a family occasion.
The servers were excellent and far exceeded expectations and coped well under pressure. They were professional, courteous, attentive and engaging. They certainty do The Vale Of Glamorgan very proud. My two cousins and their partners were impressed and they don’t impress easily.
Complimentary sour dough bread, butter and iced lemon water was brought to the table. Adequate time was given before our orders were taken. Only one starter was ordered whilst four of us opted for desert. The starter was ham hock terrine and salad which was divine. An assortment of soft drinks, lagers and cider was enjoyed whilst waiting for the main meals.
My cousin and I chose the pork belly with crackling. Other family members enjoyed a slow braised brisket of beef, a roasted Glamorganshire sirloin roast dinner and finally a cod fillets with Mediterranean vegetables and new potatoes dish. All meals were flawless. Excellent Yorkshire puddings, seasoned meals and delicious gravy. All portions were heartily and plates were cleared!
Deserts were sticky toffee pudding with ice cream, a bakewell tart and two lemon cheesecakes. All were exceptional and staff checked in on us regularly. Nathan and the team really looked after us and we cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. We tipped generously to show our gratitude. A well deserved five stars. ?

33-34 Windsor Terrace, PenarthIt’s been a number of years since we last visited Mint and Mustard and I’m pleased to say it is even better than I remembered. A lovely welcome was followed by a meal with exceptional flavours. I tried the unusually presented Chicken Biryani and my partner the Delhi Masala and both were exceptional. The staff were attentive, warm and friendly and the ambiance and background music of the restaurant was wonderful. I look forward to my next visit!

46 Plassey St, PenarthWe had a lovely welcome, good service and delicious food. It was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. The chairs were comfortable and the tables not too close together. We will certainly visit regularly.
Parking: Evening parking is easy and near to the restaurant we haven't visited in the day.
The restaurant is just off the town centre so it shouldn't be a problem.

13 Windsor Rd, PenarthI am 11 years old and when me and my friends went here we absolutely loved it. When we thought of going there we planned to get a brownie to share for the four of us, but we went up to the till we asked for what we wanted it and if we could split the payment. They weren’t able to share the payment the worker told us we could have it for free and we were so happy but a few minutes later a lovely waiter came over and give us two others brownies for free!!!!! Everyone coffi #1 are the nicest people/workers and go there now.

14 Glebe St, PenarthVery fortunate to have this amazing Chinese on our doorstep! Excellent service, very reasonably priced and food was beyond delicious!
We had crispy beef, duck, spare ribs, egg fried rice, chips and prawn toast and everything was perfect.
The chips rival most of the actual fish and chips shops in Penarth and all the gorgeous Chinese food is flavourful, succulent and the portions are big!
Nothing was greasy which is always a win too.
Can't recommend enough!

14 Windsor Rd, PenarthLocated in Penarth town centre, offers a mix of high table seating and standard tables. The atmosphere is inviting, though the layout feels slightly divided between casual and a bar.
The Negroni was disappointing as overly diluted and lacking the bold bitterness that makes the cocktail shine. The burnt orange garnish added a pleasant smokiness, but it couldn’t save the overall balance.
The red mullet itself was fairly basic, but the dish was elevated by the hospitable cabbage and a flavorful green sauce with sobrasada butter.
The artichoke had great flavor, but some pieces were excessively chewy and would have benefited from a longer grill time. However, the almond romesco with truffled Manchego was excellent and rich, nutty, and deeply satisfying.
The baby squid with Fino, garlic, and herbs was well-executed, delivering delicate flavors with just the right amount of seasoning.
For January, they offer a roll of the dice for a discount of up to 44% off ,
I landed 22%, which was a fun touch.
While some dishes showed promise, a few missteps held the experience back. Worth a visit, but with tempered expectations.

3 Pier Buildings, The Esplanade, PenarthI called in here with my husband yesterday evening. We hadn’t booked but so pleased that we stopped here. The portobello mushroom starter and the bruschetta starter were both very tasty. My lasagne was great and my husband’s pizza was good, he ended the meal with a sticky toffee pudding and ice cream.\n\nReally enjoyed the meal. The food was quite expensive but would definitely eat here again. The service was good and the staff were lovely.

Terra Nova Way, PenarthThe were so kind to us! After a few hours on the road we arrived with just 10-15mins until the kitchen closed. The staff member at the bar gave me time to find a table and patiently guided my panicked mind through what was available. The food was absolutely delicious, well plated and served by a cheerful Keanen. We would definitely return the next time we are in the area.

Ego at The Schooner, Lavernock Rd, Lavernock, PenarthAnother lovely meal here with friends last night. All the food was good and they offered a good choice of gluten free options. Service could do with being more attentive. Difficult to catch their eyes, had to ask twice to get water and they didn't check we were ok with our meals. Overall though I would recommend.

I often can’t eat certain foods as there’s rarely a GF option but that wasn’t the case here at all, even their chicken tenders are gluten free ? The staff cannot do enough for you and the owner is lovely. We had the most wonderful evening there, the atmosphere is fantastic. 10/10 would recommend!!!

1 Plymouth Rd, PenarthOne of my favourite pubs iv been to in a while, really nice pub in Penarth which I didn't realise is a bit bladdy powsh for a valleys boy tradie like myself but as the saying goes "no bluff too tough" and I think I bluffed posh right up until the moment I ejected my recently consumed chicken in white wine supper all over the bus stop like penguin feeding it's young!
The only thing that really let the place down was the men's toilets which had 2 lads who offered to sell me 'a bag' and the cleaning register which had been signed for a few hours ahead of time and was a bit sticky under foot. Other than that it's a nice pub and the beer was beery.

I called in on the last Sunday of the month and was treated to a free buffet, and a live duo. What a great evening I had!
Recommend this pub. A bus stops right outside with connection to Barry and Cardiff.

4 Pill St, PenarthMy partner and I often treat ourselves to Sping Garden. We'd eat less chinese food if it wasn't so good. It's a guilty pleasure that we definitely do too often, but have zero regrets.
It's got a great selection (though we definitely have our favourites that we tend to get... I'm pretty sure we could just order "the usual" at this point).
I highly recommend the salt and chilli chips if you fancy a break from the normal chip shop affair. In fact, the salt and chilli anything is a good bet, but you won't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Order here if you are local. It rarely takes more than 15 minutes to get dinner sorted. Quicker than cooking at home for sure. Frankly, it would be worth crossing town for too.

The Esplanade, PenarthWe visited as a family this evening, 2 adults and 3 young children. We were a bit worried about being too noisy but we were made to feel so comfortable. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made conversation with us and also made a really lovely effort with our children. The food was delicious. It’s unusual for all 3 children to polish off their meals, but they did! And we enjoyed our meals so much as well. Thank you Joanne and family for such a lovely evening. PenarthI made an account just to leave this review because i feel like i need to. this is the second time i've come here and the icecreams are incredible. I was served again today by lawrence. It's hard to find a warmer welcome and a more genuine interest in customer satisfaction. The 3 scoop waffle cone was to die for, lots of delicious flavours to choose from! We will be back very soon.( to hell with the diet!) ?

The Pilot
67 Queen's Rd, PenarthThis was the birthday meal with my daughter and grandson for a late lunch on Sunday. They very happily adjusted the menu for me so that I could have gluten and dairy free food. They even managed to provide me with an absolutely delicious pudding! They couldn't have been more helpful and the food was delicious.
Dietary restrictions: If you tell them what your restrictions are they seem to be more than happy to work around them.

The Former Golf Kiosk, Cliff Parade, PenarthVisited here today by chance after being treated very poorly by the shop next door (no relation to willmores) I can honestly say we will definitely visit here again!
