Slim Chicken
Hafan Y Mor Holiday Park, PwllheliHad a great visit to Slim Chickens whilst staying at Haven but be aware that it's very expensive for a fast food place!!! We both had a meal and then one side between us and it came to about £36. When you first select a meal from the menu it seems reasonable, and as you go through and select your sides and sauces these items are all added on at an additional cost rather than being included in the cost of your meal. I would say it was probably the best meal we had whilst we stayed at Haven though and really good sized portions. The portion size of the fried pickles was absolutely massive and we didn't even eat half of them! Overall a great visit but do be wary of the sneaky additional costs.

Buffers Cafe
11 Station Square, PwllheliNot being local didn't know the area, quick stop to find a cafe, since my visit was pre 9am Buffers was the only one open, others shortly after but a rating of 4.7 on Google and just as good on trip advisor thought it's worth a try. It's a small independent cafe next to the rail station with ample parking options nearby. Quirky old building and funky decor inside. On arrival no one else here, like any small place to maximise space there isn't a massive separation from the kitchen so the scent of cooked grease is clearly going to be there, I did consider dropping to the wetherspoons across the road, however - aiming to support local as much as possible and avoid chains. The chap behind the counter was very welcoming and offered recommendations and altered the options to cater for me which a lot of places wouldn't. Americano and vegan breakfast for £7.60, it was either going to be terrible or incredible, and I must say, it was delicious, if I'm back in the area I would certainly return. Wait time was very short so if you were having to move on quickly, that shouldn't be a problem, if however it was busy that might be a little longer. Maintaining a 5 start food hygiene rating, it's definitely a great recommendation to come and visit it your nearby. Dogs also welcome.

Gwalia Cafe
82 High St, PwllheliThis place doesn’t look like much. It’s a bit run down and not exactly welcoming but we always call in when on holiday for their sandwiches and sausage rolls. Fresh bread rolls. We always have ham, salad and coleslaw baps. Proper thick ham. Seems to be where the Welsh locals get their lunch! Definitely worth popping in for a sandwich and very well priced. £12 for 3 baps and a sausage roll! Can’t go wrong!

The Pen Cob - JD Wetherspoon
Station Square, PwllheliWe visited the Pen Cob on Wednesday the 6th of March and I cannot begin to describe the accommodating welcome that we received from one particular member of staff.I believe her name was Charlotte and although we had some of (I'm sure) the most awkward requests both in drinks and food, Charlotte went above and beyond every single time and always has a smile on her face. The food we ordered was exceptional alongside the cocktails and pitchers. We would visit the Pen Cob again based purely on the service we received. Charlotte goes above and beyond and ensures that every customer feels welcome.

Waterfront Bar and Restaurant
11 Station Square, PwllheliLovely, very tasty, filling Sunday lunch. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Asked if the gravy was glutenfree, they happily made me a batch of GF gravy up, chef went through everything on the carvery menu with me to double check it was GF. Was wonderful to have a nice lunch without the dread that there may be some hidden gluten knocking about. Also a nice little view while sat on the terrace in the sun. If we are every this was again, we will 100% be back and would recommend this place to anyone in the area.Kid-friendliness: We came at lunch time with our sleeping 1 year old, very welcoming and I believe they also have children's portions availableDietary restrictions: They went out of their way to cater for myself being celiac, put me at ease, making me feel very confident I would not be sick, vland very friendly with doing so unlike some places you go to

Phoenix
Y Maes, PwllheliLady on the phone was patient and helpful when taking my order for the family of 6. She told me it would be ready in 10 minutes, which it definitely was because I got there and it was neatly packed in a box ready for me to take away. Reasonably priced too. I found £50 for what we ordered a nice price. The lady was working alone and full of smiles. Got home and stuck a couple of the dishes in the microwave for a minute (my fault for not getting there quicker)Food was very tasty, we all enjoyed it, Chicken Kung Po was 10/10. Very good, we will return ?? .

Whitehall
The Whitehall Hotel, Stryd Moch, PwllheliBeen here for a Friday evening meal.Food was good, my spouse had the half duck meal, she wasn`t so happy about it, as the meat was quite greasy. I had lamb, I liked it, and kids had gammon with pineapple chutney and chips, the chips were not the best, but gammon was good. (I know food is hard to review as everyone has different taste). Overall, above average. Our kids barely eat so they happily split 1 meal on 2 plates for them (which saved us some £ for not buying 2 meals).Staff were not as attentive as I would like, but it was Friday, it was busy, and you could see the pressure they`re on, but everything we ordered came quick, and whatever was mistaken was rectified immediately with no hassle. The place is quite tight, tables very close to each other downstairs (I haven`t been upstairs). It wasn`t inconvenient for our kids, but for us, we were bumping into the customers behind us with the chairs. I`m not sure, but it could have been a larger group and extra chairs were added to their table which could have caused it, but either way it made my experience here less pleasant.

Glyn Y Weddw Arms
Abersoch Road, Llanbedrog, PwllheliHaven't eaten here for ages but I believe the food is good. In the summer it gets busy because it's a really nice spot with good Robinson's beer & a choice of lagers, ciders & wines which I am informed are excellent.
