The staff were so kind to even offer us free lentil soup (which was delicious) and sent us away with a piece of Baklawa each free. Without a doubt the best Italian restaurant in Swansea. The food is consistently excellent, full of authentic flavour, and clearly made with real care and tradition. Service is warm, friendly, and genuinely Italian in spirit, which makes every visit feel special.
It’s proper Italian cooking, not places that try to look Italian but miss the authenticity. Vesuvio’s is the real deal and always our first choice. Hands down the best in town.

Hadnt been here for quite some time but went with family yesterday at 5pm for meal. Lots of good vegan/vegetarian menu choices on offer which was refreshing as so many places leave me with 2 choices if I’m lucky. Decided on the Moroccan Tagine and it was delicious and very well presented. Service was excellent and all 6 of us enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere.

This is the best restaurant in Swansea. Authentic and delicious French food at it's best -- not fussy, not pretentious, but down-to-earth, accessible, rich, and made with love. I had the couscous royale, which I recommend heartily. It made me think of the first time I had couscous twenty years ago during a semester abroad in France. The couscous royale at Pant y Gwydr is the first dish that's ever matched it. Nearly brought tears to my eyes.

Cracking 18th birthday venue. We had an 18th birthday yesterday out the back under the canopy.
Absolutely brilliant venue and atmosphere. We hired an acoustic guitar singer which added to the excellent venue.
There is a drinks van out the back to save going in to order at the bar each time.
Some of our party had the tapas and the food looked superb and on point.

A nice pub atmosphere to enjoy lovely lunch . The Sirloin steak was very flavoursome and perfectly cooked, the triple cooked chips , onion rings and pepper sauce were all delicious . The Sticky toffee pudding Christmas style was fantastic. Accompanied by a bottle of white wine at a reasonable price.
I look forward to returning soon to have the small plates which offer an excellent choice of items to try.

One of the best pubs I’ve ever been to in my life! The food and drinks were absolutely superb – packed with flavour and beautifully presented. The service was top-notch; the staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. The atmosphere? Absolutely lit – a perfect blend of cosy and vibrant, making it an ideal spot to chill with friends or enjoy a night out.

Prices were more than reasonable for the quality you get – let’s be real, you can’t expect Primark prices at a Gucci-level experience, and this place definitely delivers premium quality. They even had some great cocktail offers going on, which made it even better. Shoutout to the bartender – such a cool and friendly guy who really knew his craft. The boss was also around and took time to chat with us, which made the experience feel even more personal and welcoming.

Overall, an unforgettable spot. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a proper pub experience with great vibes, amazing food and drinks, and genuinely lovely people running the place.

Lovely place just off the M4 junction 46. We were travelling to Pembrokeshire from Somerset in our motorhome with doggie and needed somewhere to stop off overnight. One phone call to the plough and harrow and we had ourselves a stop over. Lovely large car park with easy access. Nothing too much trouble. And no rush to leave in the morning. Serve food till 8.30pm and have a great choice on the menu. Plenty of selection of drinks. Dogs allowed in bar. Locals all very friendly. Nice quite night overlooking fields. Oh, and the ladies toilets are lovely. Thank you to reece (phone call) and ceri in pub (sorry if I've spelt names wrong). Although we woke up to rain, it was so helpful to have this stop over on route.

Called into the Woodman with a friend yesterday lunchtime. In the main area nearly all the tables were empty. Sat on one for two. Young waitress was sent by the man standing at desk to tell us that table was taken and so we're all the others. We said we just wanted a coffee and were told we could have it outside but no snack . We left and will not go back.
Have had many meals in the Woodman but after that customer service will not go back.

Parking somewhat small for size of pub but extra parking available at next turn and at nearby hotel. Bar some slightly over-peppery Swede and needing a few more parsnips, we really enjoyed. First time visit to this particular shop as usually call by st Helens road,must say due to being on retail park it is much easier to park ,was served quite quickly staff were very friendly,polite and professional,I had my favourite normal strawberry sundae,and partner had a chocolate marshmallow sundae, daughter had a Oreo ice-cream,also we bought a polystyrene container and had large size to takeaway ???? if you've never been to one of Joe's ice cream parlours go +try it you won't be disappointed.❤️??

The first time I visited this restaurant was last night and I cannot rave about it enough!! I’ve told everyone they HAVE to try it, the food was absolutely outstanding, piping hot, so flavourful and cooked to perfection!! The staff were incredible, so friendly and super helpful and chatty. It was a busy Saturday night and everything was absolutely perfect. Safe to say I absolutely cannot wait to return asap! Amazing!! (Gutted I didn’t take a better photo)

I can’t thank the team enough, they were all amazing, food was exceptional, the atmosphere was sublime, their hospitality was immense! I used to visit the cafe over 20 years ago when Eira actually ran the place, went every Friday breakfast was always stunning. called in yesterday, amazed the place was still running. I was with a friend and decided to grab a breakfast and walk down memory lane. obviously changed hands , was greeted by the 'new' owner who was fab with a great way with the public. service was swift, price brilliant food was exceptional. best quality content, really well cooked. best I've had in years. deffo be back!!!

This is my must-go/must-have place for fish and chips if I visit Swansea. Definitely one of best fish and chips I have ever had for a quite long time.

The food is freshly done while you wait in the shop and it is hot and fresh! Fish is super fresh (you can taste a bit sweetness) with the crunchy batter outside, just so perfectly done! The chips are so tasty and I do love the sweetness of the potato, just so nice and to be honest, so far this is one of my most favourites (I am quite picky on how chip is cooked). The scampi, definitely worth a try, so tasty! The Irish curry is the best combo/compliment to eat with, the spicy is not too hot but just right!

The portion (is huge compared with the price I paid back home) for the price is very economical friendly. The staff there are so nice and friendly.

Overall, I highly recommend this place and definitely deserve a visit back if you give a try!

Wow! Had the most amazing breakfast at Square Pegs this morning. We are on holiday in the area and love going out for breakfast. We've been to a few in the UK and beyond and I must say the food at Square Peg would have to be on the top of our most favourite breakfast cafes. The food is divine. Had the goats cheese, beetroot puree, poached egg, avocado on sourdough and it was to die for. Will be back before we head home that is for sure.

Dogs are very welcome, too.

I’ve eaten a few times here. It’s got to be one of the best places in South Wales. First of all the owner Amir is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. All his staff are lovely too and well trained. I’ve had both cod and chips and hake and chips. I’ve eaten in a lot of fish and chip
Restaurants but I have to say this is one of the best not just in South Wales but in the entire UK. Hiks fish and chips are perfect.
A choice of curry sauces. I’ve tried all of them and they’re delicious. The chips are perfect too. The batter is bang on! I’ve not tried them but I saw some breakfasts come out and they looked awesome. The restaurant is decorated beautifully too. Amir showed me the accommodation upstairs which is absolutely gorgeous and the prices were incredible value for money. I love this place and will ? be back. Thank Amir and your fantastic team for making me feel so welcome and for the best fish and chips!!!

Stopped by on Saturday morning for breakfast. So glad we did!! Greeted with a warm welcome, gave us time to look at the menu, and then took our order.
We ordered 2 full breakfasts. £8.50 each and well worth it! Bacon, sausages, hash brown, black pudding, fried eggs, beans, and toast were cooked beautifully! Bacon was so tasty!! Decent cup of coffee, too!! Toilet was clean. Plenty of room to park.
We will 100% be calling back here! Already told family and friends about it!!

Had a great time August Bank Holiday 2025, love the spacious room, and bathroom, staff were very helpful and friendly, locals were friendly, weather being warm helped me enjoy staying there .
Location in town centre next to cafes, shops etc. train station 10 min walk, taxis if you need to go further afield, bus station 5-10 min walk from pub.
