Papa Johns Pizza

I’ve recently been diagnosed with some intolerances that were effecting my health and my first obstacle was met today in ordering a takeaway. I rang around a lot of the big names who offered gluten free and vegan (dairy free) separately but couldn’t be done together? I tried Papa Johns hoping to find something and I did! I rang the Pontefract branch to double check everything and a lovely gentleman answered an reassured me what I was seeing what correct. When I collected my order the same gentleman served me and all I could do was thank him. He told me to always check on the app for the allergen and intolerance markers and to just ring if I ever place an order and want to adjust anything. Lovely service, thank you

Mamma Mia Pontefract

We went for a meal out for a treat, and that’s exactly what we got. The waiters were very attentive to your needs and the food was made fresh and were generous portions. We ordered a starter each, a main and shared a side and it was gorgeous. We will be returning, it was a lovely experience and we both found it value for money.thank you we were stuffed!!!!!

Lanes Ladybalk Fish & Chips

came in yesterday for Cod & Chips twice, no Cod. so wife had Haddock & Chips & I had Battered Sausage and Chips. The Haddock and Sausage tasted as though left in warmer for a while. Batter soggy underneath. Used this place lots of times and allways good but today left disappointed.

Cromwells

Went to Cromwells yesterday we have been there several times before and yes it’s fantastic the cafe is clean, and the employees are friendly but professional. The menu is varied and there is something for everyone. I had ham so much ham it’s unbelievable egg and chips and my friend had scampi and chips we both had Yorkshire tea . We really enjoy our selves.

Farmer Copleys

There sausage rolls from the farm shop are amazing you can get them either frozen as a 4 pack or individual ones already cooked, on the pricey side but definitely worth the money.

La Rokka Mediterranean Kitchen

Went to La Rokka for my birthday meal last night. Excellent restaurant. Absolutely loved the interior decor and the outside seating. We opted for outside because it was hot weather and thoroughly enjoyed the area. Food was amazing! And waiter was really pleasant. We Highly recommend.

Chip Pan

Excellent fish and chips.
Really fresh and cooked to order.
Very generous portions.
Haddock was really fresh and cooked in beef dripping without the skin.
Had a turnover which is basically a Yorkshire fishcake. Two slices of potato with a generous section of fish sandwiched in between then battered .
The service was excellent. Such a friendly couple. Makes you want to return.
Thoroughly recommend to anyone and will return again next time we pass

Lovely Sunday carvery located in a cosy village. Well presented country pub with friendly staff added to the amazing food. Constant changeover of Veg and Meats. Chef serving carvery was extremely friendly.

Bobs Burger and Shakes

Ordered from Bobs Burgers And Shakes last night and everything was fantastic! The food arrived hot, fresh, and right on time. Portions were generous and full of flavor — especially the special Box . Packaging was neat and eco-friendly too. Definitely one of the best takeaways in the area!

The Viceroy Of Hemsworth

First time dining here and will definitely return! Friendly, welcoming staff, food was really nice and portion sizes were big. Lots to choose from on the menu and good prices too. Excellent service.

Just had special curry chips and fried rice,got to say it was the best curry I've had in years,loads of meat king prawns pea's mushrooms onions the curry was just how I like it, nice and sweet and not hot and peppery very generous portions it's the first time I've been and it won't be the last,i would highly recommend this place ???❤️

Turnpike Brewers Fayre

I had an absolutely wonderful dining experience. The ambiance was perfect for our celebration, with the easy layout and cozy feel Our server, was the girl with the red butterflies on her arm. She was knowledgeable about the menu and made some fantastic recommendations. I tried the Korean burger and it was incredibly fresh and flavorful, beautifully presented on the plate. The entire team ensured we had a memorable evening. I highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to return!"

Ego at The Beverley Arms, Ackworth

Myself, my partner and our pooch called off to try the Ego last night drove past numerous times and kept saying I wanted to try so we did after our dog walk at Nostell Priory. We had the Tuesday night steak option 2 for £30 it was stunning! The steaks were very nice juicy steaks and the whole meal was so nice. We had one side of sauce an extra small acceptable charge not the rediculous costs some places charge! We then had deserts I opted for the Lemon tart WOW usually find they forget the lemon but this tasted of Lemon, my partner had the Apple (tart) not sure what it was called but he said it was very nice too and looked nice. So yep think I have found a great venue on our doorstep which has great service and amazing food topped off Dog Friendly

We called in today for Sunday lunch. It was the first time we had visited, and wow, the Sunday lunch did not disappoint!! The portion sizes were huge. I couldn’t finish mine. Everything was cooked to perfection and we really enjoyed it. Will definitely be back!! Thankyou.

Always fantastic food and big portions with good prices. We just ordered (again!) tonight. Food was beautiful, hot and staff are really polite. The only takeaway we use now. Chicken curry and salt and pepper chips, amazing! Thanks guys.

Nutella waffles, it's all about that perfect balance between the warm, fluffy waffle and the rich, creamy Nutella weffle. It was delicious. Hope will see you again☺️?

Shummi Chinese Takeaway

Fast delivery, food was piping hot.Sweet and sour chicken balls, the batter was crisp and delicious, the chicken was cooked well but there were a couple of hard ends on a couple of pieces.The sauce was very nice but didn't look too appealing.Pancake rolls were bloomin' massive! Crisp shell and jam packed, very nice too.Will definitely order again when I'm back in 'Ponty Carlo'.

Pizza Paradise

It seems like all the bad reviews are directed at the delivery but we collected and the food was amazing. We ordered two calzones, they were both perfectly cooked and delicious.

The Bosphorus Bistro

We recently visited The Bosphorous, it was our first night out since the birth of our son and we had the best night. The food was so tasty and the staff were so friendly, they really took the time to have a proper conversation with us. Best food I’ve eaten in a long time and that’s saying something coming from a classically trained chef.

The Last Bank

My partner and I came for the bottomless brunch. The service was absolutely excellent, the lovely lady serving us made sure the drinks were flowing in a timely manner and was so friendly! The drinks were made to perfection and the food was to die for! Props to everyone involved! Will absolutely be coming again!

Crusty Pizzeria

First time ordering recently as we've just moved in and couldn't be bothered to cook after a long day of unpacking and moving furniture.Can I just say, it was incredible. We only ordered one large meal (with a salad included) to share and it was ample for both of us.Really tasty and hot even though it was delivered. (We looked on the map afterwards and realised that it's just down the road - oops, we'll collect in future).Really impressed and I think that we'll be ordering again and again. 10/10.

Me and the boss man have started a off menu item.. Leezone.. basically a donner or chicken calzone with a small chicken curry of your choice put inside and it’s epic… tried it from a few takeaways and the they lack on taste and skimp on the meat boss man her don’t agree with that. Give him a call and give it a try you won’t be disappointed

The Shoulder of Mutton

Lovely little pub, with friendly staff & locals. Cosy inside with a nice coal fire and spacious beer garden for the better weather. Set in a beautiful village with the fantastic woodland walks nearby. Love it

Cracking food, very tasty Indeed.

When we looked on Google Maps it did say the pub allowed pets in, maybe it did once but that's no longer the case.
Not a problem as there is plenty of outdoor seating.

All in all, a nice pub.

Went into pontefract it was a ghost town nothing hardly open so went into liquorice bush was made very welcome so we had our Sunday lunch what a meal chicken and beef the meat melted in your mouth the yorkshire pud was great everything on the plate was delicious we had the pensioners one and I couldn't eat all mine all for £6 each where can you get that any better thank you liquorice bush you made our miserable day brighter we will be back

good service from start knowing I'm with 4 guy's and so really friendly as well as my partner and then put a song On recommended when there was no DJ. very good costermer service. need more like her.. and I don't go out much but want to with ppl like this girl even dance with me in distant. At one time the pointy tavern used to be the Blacking more where I used to go to to see the group which was playinga different band every Saturday night and it didn't cost me a lot to enter and listen to the vibes

The SPREAD at Darrington

Wow. Lovely midweek lunch of bacon steaks, lovely buttery mash etc all brilliant. Very attentive to my food allergy, great service and lovely surroundings. I can highly recommend and look forward to returning again.

Robin Hood Inn

The Robin Hood Inn is a nice traditional pub. There is a wide selection of beers lager and cider including hand-pulled cask conditioned real ales. The ones we sampled were in excellent condition. There is an outside seating area next to the pub and in a courtyard behind the pub. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the pub is featured in the camra good beer guide and is dog friendly. A visit is highly recommended.

Church House

Hate karaoke but they have it in the other side now so did not bother me one bit second time I have been in since it has reopened will go again

Poplar Grove Fisheries

Travelled over from Leeds to try Poplar Grove Fisheries and it was well worth it. I had the special haddock, which you get to choose cod or haddock cooked perfectly. The chips were spot on, mushy peas lovely, and curry sauce fantastic. Staff were really friendly, place was busy as you’d expect, but a great experience all round.

Hillside Fisheries

my husband has lived in this village all his life and seen many owners come and go. the nicest fish and chips we've had by far. today's fish and the chips were outstanding. we'll done, keep it up

Carleton Fisheries

Generous portion for a small portion of chips, lovely chips & the curry sauce was gorgeous! Service excellent! Definitely recommend! Presentation tale out chips was a 10/10!

Alleyc'zam Cafe & Bar

Went on Tuesday 1st April for afternoon tea for my great nieces birthday.Food was lovely,best afternoon tea price i have paid,hands down beats the 2 at Kings Croft that i have had (my opinion of course) Would definitely go again and highly recommend.The staff were lovely and friendly too.Give it a go you won't be disappointed

CHINO'S Fish Bar

Fish & chips, other foods are always fresh and tasty. Portions are really generous. Friendly staff. The price is considerably cheaper than other shops, compared to Portion size and quality. I definitely recommend ?

Park View Fisheries

Very popular Chip shop and its easy to taste why, Only negative is the chip portions are a bit smaller than most but still very tasty never the less. Good choice, but remember to order non standard items when you first arrive. I always go for Spam fritter on the side as well.

The Olde Tavern

The Olde Tavern is a traditional two roomed pub. There is a large bar area and a nice separate room with a pool table. There is a wide selection of beers lager and cider but unfortunately no hand-pulled cask conditioned real ales. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and there is an outside seating area. I haven't tried the food so i can't comment. There is plenty of customer car parking.

The Broken Bridge

Very big pub with a good variety of beers at an affordable price, typical Wetherspoon choice of good value food. Small outdoor beer garden seating area at the rear gets very popular when the sun is out ???. Well worth a visit if you're in town.

The Fox and Hounds

Been coming here on and off for years and up until recently didn’t rate the last fella or woman who took over before. New landlady is doing brilliant and is just what this pub/restaurant needs! Gorgeous food, business driven and very friendly staff. Prices reasonable and the place is always smelling fresh and clean. Well done all around, me and my family hope you stay here for the long run and keep it going ??

Hilltop Sandwich Bar

Hilltop Sandwich Bar is a very short walk from Knottingley railway station and I would recommend paying a visit if you want some lunch and are in the area. I received a friendly greeting from the lady who served me and I was impressed with the wide range of products available. As well as hot and cold sandwiches they also serve panninis, burgers and salads. There are also hot and cold drinks to be bought. Excellent service!

DJ's Cafe/Patisserie

Really enjoyed our visit the food was good and so was the service, it was good to get a dressing on the salad not many places do that. I had tuna and cheese toastie on sourdough it was very tasty, we recommend this cafe.

Buttys

Took my order 10mins before they opened and I got the large breakfast and it comes with a hit or cold drink. Food was really nice everything cooked right so was a beautiful full English

Fish bites

Fantastic service great to chat too really polite and friendly really showed willing to help even tho they are really busy special shoutout to the manager for her service as she seemed stressed juggling many chores.

The Travellers Rest

We went in yesterday afternoon for a Sunday roast a treat on Mother's Day for Lindsay me and Lindsay went also our Thomas and his girlfriend Freya and our Harvey and Chloe and we also took our Cooper and Luna we all enjoyed ourselves and the food was nice

Bracken Hill Fisheries

Excellent fish and chip shop, very reasonably priced, choice of Cod or slightly cheaper Hake , Various vegetarian options , cooked in palm oil . Can't fault it .

Jolly's

Dont know pontefract all that well, called into this little cafe while there and what a little gem it is. I only had a sausage sandwich, wife had a bacon and brie panini with salad, everything made/cooked fresh and absolutely beautiful. The owners were very nice, noticed a few people coming in that were obviously regular visitors which is also a good sign. Will definitely call in here again on our next visit to Pontefract.

Baden’s Butties

Delicious, substantial butties (I had sausage and egg, my wife a bacon buttie) at good prices and friendly service. Nice little area outside where you can eat. A perfect start to the day before a long drive back to London!

Masala Room

I cannot praise Massala Room enough, they are consistent from the food to the friendly service.

Whilst we do not have to travel far, we would be more than willing to travel for our favorite curry house. No other lamb has ever melted so easily, no other sauce has ever had such a smooth flavour.

This evening maps told us you shut at 10:30 but it was actually 10 so our call at 9:50 was more than justified to be turned away or ignored but not only did you answer and whip up a beautiful takeaway, your decor and restaurant atmosphere made our valentines more special. Thank you to everyone at Masala Room.

Spoilt 4 Choice

Hands down best sandwich shop in Pontefract, cannot rate highly enough! Sandwiches are extremely generous with the fillings and excellent value for money great quality produce and the best staff . We always use spoilt for choice and wouldn’t go anywhere else . Collection or delivery they are always top class and blow the rest out of the water . Give them a try you won’t regret it

Pizza & Kebab House

Ordered a regular dona kebab with pita and a portion of kebab meat.
The portion sizes were BIG.
The meat was good but not the best, i would definitely recommend it though.
The one thing that let it down and dropped it a star was the pita bread! The bread came in its own bag and was very dry and hard, im not sure if it was being in the bag that made it dry or if it was stale and maybe out of date but knowing what I know id say it was stale which is a shame.

Morrisons Cafe

The only reason for giving it a four was I could t see teaspoons over than that cheerful cafe clean goo do choice of cakes and yummy looking I had Victorian sponge muffin cheaper than other cafes but otherwise brillant

Pizza Planet

Staff are very polite and friendly and have always asked if we would like donner meat on the mighty meaty pizza which is very nice. Chips are gorgeous. Delivery is spot on. Excellent prices with great deals too,would highly recommend trying.

just bought a fish and chips and a chip butty and a burger £17.00 I sent my lad back in to get some sauce or mayo and they charged him a extra £1.30 to squirt some mayo on my chip butty. A absolute rip off.
