The Square At Porthleven
7 Fore St, Porthleven, HelstonThis is the first review I’ve written in a long time, but when you go to somewhere like the Square you can’t but be amazed at the quality and attention to detail they put in to your overall dining experience. The food was some of the best we’ve had in Cornwall, but what the evening so memorable was our host Gaurav (this might be a terrible spelling). You’ll notice I said ‘host’ and not waiter, there is a big difference between the two let me tell you. A host is someone who makes you feel like you’re eating upon personal invitation in his own dining room. A host is someone who is emotionally invested in you enjoying your evening, he was quite simply a wonderful human being and it’s with going to the Square even if it’s jus to experience what proper hospitality looks like.

Jumunjy Thai Restaurant & Bar @ The Old Post Office
The Old Post Office, Cury Cross Lanes, HelstonI thought it was a bit expensive until I tasted the food. Worth every penny, the flavours were bold and distinct but still well balanced. Reasonable choice of beer as well. Will definitely be back.

Housel Bay Rd, Lizard, HelstonWe spent a wonderful couple of days here recently. The staff are very friendly and super efficient. The rooms are well designed and had everything we needed, with a very comfortable bed. The food at the Terrrace Restaurant was very good and the views just amazing. This place is a little gem!

80 Godolphin Rd, HelstonGreat chip shop, offers fish, chicken and burgers. You can order online and then go and collect at a specific time slot. This makes the food super fresh as they cook it in time for your collection and it only gets boxed up when you arrive!

I’ve had curry in most destinations around the country and most don’t get anywhere near food from the midlands -this place does. Trust me, this is a first class destination and very well priced ??

23 Coinagehall St, HelstonHad a fantastic experience here today & the last time we visited Helston (a few months back), genuine real people, went above and beyond- ordered gluten free vegetarian - if I could I’d given them 11/10 they were brilliant and the pizza’s were perfect ! Will be back without a doubt.

National Trust - Lizard Point, Lizard, HelstonAmazing views when outside, had a lovely cream tea after walking from The Lizard to Kynance Cove and back. Service was excellent and the prices were fair, considering we were on holiday, so we didn't care. Definitely recommend going even if the weather isn't the greatest as they've got some nice little pods.

Lighthouse Rd, Lizard, HelstonWalked from The Lizard to Cadgwith Cove hoping to have a spot of lunch, but the pub was closed! While waiting for a taxi we got talking to Nigel who recommended this bistro for lunch. Really glad we took his advice, the service and food were amazing. My husband said his steak and mushroom loaded fries were the tastiest meal he had had all week! Would definitely recommend coming here for lunch, and will return when we are in the area again.

Poldhu Beach Cafe & Shop
Poldhu Cove, Mullion, HelstonVisited whilst down this way from South East Cornwall. Staff all friendly and seemed happy to be there and serve tourists and locals alike. We had hot drinks and brownies and both were stunning for a really good price. It made us wonder why similar places in SE Cornwall charge so much more and you're lucky to get a grunt from the staff!!

Owner Pete and bar lady Mya were incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating such a warm and inviting atmosphere. The bartender gave me a one pound coin with the King on it (hard to find) made our vacation even more memorable!!! The tequila shots didn’t hurt. Thanks for a great time!

Helston Railway Trevano Farm, Prospidnick, HelstonIt was our first visit to the cornish carriages buffet cars and we will definitely come back when we are next in the area. We had an afternoon tea for 2 and for the price and the quality, it was excellent value for money. We even brought some back as we could not eat it all. The staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble even making one of the afternoon teas vegetarian.

Peverell Terrace, Porthleven, HelstonAlways a warm welcome and a laugh. Gets very busy some nights, especially when there's live entertainment. Dog friendly (doggie treats), as long as they're under control. Ours just slept after her long walk.

It is drenched in history, they have the most fantastic pub garden with awesome views.
I had the fish and chips, it was one of the nicest fish and chips I have every had, just the right amount of batter and so much juicy fish.

The Queen's Arms
Sethnoe Way, Breage, HelstonWent for the Sunday roast with my daughter today and it was excellent. The service was friendly from the moment we walked in and we were looked after very well by the staff. I had the roast beef and my daughter had the turkey, both with all the trimmings, all of which was cooked well and was super tasty. Service was quick and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you! Forgot to leave a tip as I thought my daughter had done so our apologies. However, we will be back for sure!

Barton Farm, Tregellast Cl, St Keverne, HelstonWe came here for a Sunday roast and were lucky to get a reservation with a short notice. The meat was cooked to perfection and the gravy was tasty. Nice atmosphere in the garden, however service was poor. There is a long queue inside and we didn’t feel informed about how ordering worked. For some reason we weren’t given the Sunday roast menu either even though we reserved a table for it. We recommend the ice cream.
