Visited today for the first time and i doubt very much it will be the last! I had roast lamb and the three others had beef. The lamb was so tender and tasty - best i’ve had in years. Roasters, cauliflower cheese, parsnips and all delicious and full of flavour. Plenty of it, too\nHouse red wine was great and the whole party enjoyed the day.\nEven managed a pudding!\nNot cheap eats but worth it. Cost us just over thirty pounds each which is fair as we all had a drink each and three out of four had a pudding.\nMy only two niggles is that the lamb looked like it had been stuffed with garlic, which i would have avoided if i had known as it makes me poorly & There is a 12.5% service charge which is mentioned on the menu in the tiniest of tiny, tiny font! \nDon’t be put off, though - excellent

Had a hummus in pitta salad, and chips, at The Helston Grill last night, and my goodness, it was the best thing I've eaten in ages. Perfectly balanced, plentiful. The hummus was delicious, the pickled white cabbage the best I've ever eaten. Chips were hot, and really tasty. Thank you for a wonderful meal

I thought it was a bit expensive until I tasted the food. Worth every penny, the flavours were bold and distinct but still well balanced. Reasonable choice of beer as well. Will definitely be back.

Have reviewed this place over the past couple of years when i have been on on holiday in the area.\nPlace is still unusual in that though it has an alcohol license you can BYO. No corkage charge.\nGlad to see that the hidden service charge added to the bill in previous years has now disappeared. However there is still no price board outside the premises ( which there should be ) but instead there is a box containing take away menus which are not the same prices as charged in the restaurant.\nI started with two papadoms with chutneys ( didnt look to me as though they had been heated ) and then a main of tandoori shashlick king prawn at £15.89.\nVery nice, it came out on a sizzler dish and the prawns were part shell on on the tail.\nI also had a sag poneer as a side dish at £5.49 and one chapati at n£2.99.\nA decent meal I thought. Bill total £27.15.\nI was in there for a little over an hour early on a Saturday evening and in that time only one other couple came in to dine.\nMost of the activity at the front desk seemed to involve people picking up pre ordered takeaways.\nSo I would say a good meal but you wont know what you are paying till you sit down at your table.\nPremises look smart and modern inside, upstairs toilet OK but you have to go up a fairly steep curved stairway so it may not suit those with mobility issues.\nFree parking in the big pay and display car park nearby after 4.00 p m.\nGive it a try I say and take your own alcoholic drinks.

We spent a wonderful couple of days here recently. The staff are very friendly and super efficient. The rooms are well designed and had everything we needed, with a very comfortable bed. The food at the Terrrace Restaurant was very good and the views just amazing. This place is a little gem!

Just spent a long weekend in Cornwall and ate here on our 2nd day for the evening. The kids enjoyed the food and drinks. I liked the biryani and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The children made a little mess but they were so nice about it. I'd recommend!

Great chip shop, offers fish, chicken and burgers. You can order online and then go and collect at a specific time slot. This makes the food super fresh as they cook it in time for your collection and it only gets boxed up when you arrive!

Dan Dan - The Lobster Man

Great seafood, lovely fresh salad and lobster. Really felt like we were supporting a local business and you can see where the shellfish was brought back into the harbour. Porthleven is was one of the best places we founds on this trip and having lobster by the sea with you family felt really luxurious but not fussy.

I came here for lunch, therefore I only had a regular plain burger, a side of coleslaw and a Coke. This came to about £15 so it’s not cheap. However, this was a nicely seasoned burger and a crisp salad served in a brioche bun. There was plenty of coleslaw too.\n\nThis is a relaxed place. The food is served on a layer of paper on a tray, and any sides come in separate pots. I could imagine the table getting a bit crowded if there are four people, but this was fine for me. I liked the plank lined decor and booths, which gave a bit of privacy.\n\nThe staff were friendly and professional, and my food was served quite quickly. \n\nA few families and couples came in and overall this seemed to be one of the better burger restaurants around here. Recommended.

Amazing views when outside, had a lovely cream tea after walking from The Lizard to Kynance Cove and back. Service was excellent and the prices were fair, considering we were on holiday, so we didn't care. Definitely recommend going even if the weather isn't the greatest as they've got some nice little pods.

We had a fantastic holiday experience at The Lion and Lamb Pub! Owner Pete and bar lady Mya were incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating such a warm and inviting atmosphere. What a fantastic place!!! The atmosphere was great! The food was so good we went back a second time. We were only there for a week. It was our first visit to the cornish carriages buffet cars and we will definitely come back when we are next in the area. We had an afternoon tea for 2 and for the price and the quality, it was excellent value for money. We even brought some back as we could not eat it all. The staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble even making one of the afternoon teas vegetarian.

Almost didn't go here due to the reviews, but was lured in by the smell. Ordered the black pudding sausage roll- delicious, not disappointed at all! These are well seasoned, full of flavour- I wouldn't say 'salty'- but can see that some palettes may find this too much. Outdoor and indoor seating, dog friendly.

Her honesty about the food options was refreshing, and she gave us great recommendations that really hit the spot. On top of that, her service was outstanding, making sure everything was just right and that we left happy. I am never usually a fan of a Whetherspoons...this one took me by suprise. The staff were brilliant and friendly, the interior was clean and renovated, the drinks very good value and overall had such a pleasant experience.

If like me you don't usually like the vibe in a spoons...this one is worth going to. It almost doesn't feel like a spoons!

Roof terrace was very contemporary setting and overall felt clean and comfortable. Great atmosphere and upkeep.

We came here for a Sunday roast and were lucky to get a reservation with a short notice. The meat was cooked to perfection and the gravy was tasty. Nice atmosphere in the garden, however service was poor. There is a long queue inside and we didn’t feel informed about how ordering worked. For some reason we weren’t given the Sunday roast menu either even though we reserved a table for it. We recommend the ice cream.

Quite easily once of the best meals I have had in the last year. The quality of ingredients and level of creativity in the dishes is so unique and exceptional. We loved every single dish that was brought out, but particular highlights included the sirloin, John Dory and the potato deep fried oyster. Have never had anything quite like that before and shall be dreaming of that oyster for nights to come. A must visit!
