The Fat Frog
6 Market St, LiskeardThis eatery has improved 200% since Mark and his wife took it on a few years ago! I used to come here 20 years ago before it expanded into the William Hill bookie next door and it was a dark, poky little place. Today, it is spacious with great food, decor and lovely staff. I would highly recommend this place to anybody living in or just visiting Liskeard!

Halfway House
A38, Two Waters Foot, LiskeardWhat a gem. We stopped off for dinner on the way home from a day in St Ives and so glad we did. We received a very warm welcome and were shown to our table. The gentleman that served us was helpful and friendly. We were served quickly. Two of us had Bubble and Squeak and one had fish pie. Food came and it was piping hot and absolutely delicious, we all cleared our plates. I will definitely return and can highly recommend a visit.

Rumours
6 Windsor Pl, LiskeardVisited this gem of a place for light lunch/ hot drink & was not disappointed. The ladies were welcoming & friendly. Had cauliflower & cheese soup with 2 slices of rustic granary bread & butter with a pot of tea. Initially soup arrived in very hot bowl, although soup was tepid. On asking politely to have it hotter, my request was met promptly. Thoroughly enjoyed generous hot bowl of homemade soup, as well as very fresh granary bread & butter.Venue has 2 floors with toilets upstairs. We sat upstairs as downstairs, (where customers enter) was temporarily closed, although sigh posted clearly to indicate this.Whole venue is decorated with a truly rustic feel & has a mix of seating with artefacts on surrounding walls, giving plenty of interest.Upstairs is cleverly decorated with old doors, giving a textural & colourful display. Children & dogs welcome as noticed high chair downstairs, plus one customer came in with his four legged companion upstairs. Will be back, absolutely loved it.

The Market Inn
Well Ln, St Cleer, LiskeardCrisps deserve a 5 star rating, as it is all I ate, was on a mission to to get as many pints down my neck within the allotted time, could of done a more thorough job if I hadn't been slowed down by my lightweight nieces Chloe and Charlotte, they should be ashamed of themselves.

Tapenades
14 Dean St, LiskeardWe read the reviews and decided to arrange for a takeaway to be delivered. We were 5 miles from Liskeard but there was no extra charge for delivery. The food was excellent and beautifully presented, even though it was a takeaway. Because there was a slight delay we were called to advise what time the delivery would be made. Would recommend this service for a fine dining experience.

Liskeard Hive
1-8 Windsor Pl, LiskeardWhat a gem in Liskeard. I'm so pleased I found this shop. What is this place? Locally sourced organic veg, great coffee, jams and pickles, cakes, scones, baguettes and the best sourdough bread for miles around. The Hive also seems to act as a kind of community hub, bringing together interesting local people to talk, make films, discuss, all sorts. The staff are friendly and engaged.Oh, I almost forgot, they make, on site, some fantastic fermented products including kimchi, sauerkraut and other gut friendly foods. An excellent shop all round. I go at least once a week.Vegetarian options: It's all veggie as far as I can see.Parking: Some on street parking but you take your chances. Ample car parks within easy walking distance.Dietary restrictions: Yes, catered for.

Malcolm Barnecutt
3 Fore St, LiskeardWonderful lunch of pasty and a tiffinParking: I parked away from the town so not to get stuck in traffic queues one way systems and finding a parking space. Quicker to walk through roads and cuts taking less time and no petrol and parking costs to get a quick lunch after a very short visit to Cornwall

The Red Lion
5 Lower Lux St, Liskeard5 stars mainly because I had a proper laugh here! Went around 2230 got the cheapest pints I've ever known, played pool and lost twice, 50p for pool! Nice little garden but couldn't see much as it was dark, and chuffed it was open even with no customers at half 10.

The White Horse
The Parade, LiskeardThis is a lovely looking pub where they seem like a very friendly lot. They serve a pretty decent pint of Betty Stogs too, I have to say. What I really enjoyed about my visit though was the old time music that was played. I've always liked Chantilly Lace and you just don't hear songs like it and Blue Moon enough, so good on the pub.

Liskeard Fish & Chips
15 Fore St, LiskeardAbsolutely great gluten free fish and chips, cooked fresh for you by friendly staff. For gluten-free you need to call them at lunchtime for the evening but they then cook them separately . Fish quality very good and popular with locals and visitors. You need to use the public car park as it is on a pedestrian road but the car parks are free after 4pm. Recommended . Takeaway only or eat outside
