I came to the oak on a Wednesday for dinner with my girlfriend. The second we stepped foot through the door we felt welcomed. Being the time of year it is and the time we decided to dine it was quiet whilst still exceedingly atmospheric. After being served our drinks by the attentive bar staff (a very lovely lady whos name escapes me), the head chef alex struck up a conversation with us from behind the bar. We've been here 4 or 5 times and are never let down with the food and service.. Great staff.. Lovely English pub with home cooked meals and decent prices.. Highly recommended..Friday is Fish and chips night and has a big two thumbs up. ??

Excellent home cooked food and great friendly service. Highly recommended. We are hoping to move to the area and though we would check out the local pubs, lucky to find this one, we will definitely be back.
