Mill St, WimborneWe visited The Coventry Arms for the second time at the weekend. What AMAZING service… the staff are so generous with their time. And the food! We had awesome meals… the gammon egg and chips … EXCELLENT! The fish and chips… absolutely DELICIOUS!! What a perfect way to spend a couple of hours on a Saturday evening. Thank you so very much… we will be back soon!

LAMBS GREEN INN, Lane, Corfe Mullen, WimborneThe food was tasty even though it didn’t always look it. Standard fare but lots of it. We were all full by the end.
We sat out in the garden which was large and not too busy. We did wait quite a long time for our food and asked after it a couple of times. Luckily we had plenty to talk about. I'm not sure how they would cope if the place was full.
When the food came, it was hot and fresh which helped mitigate the wait.
There were some lovely old cars in the car park which we stopped to admire on the way out.
A pleasant pub diner that I'd give another go if I was ever in the area again.

They were super friendly to us and helpful and willing to cater to a few special requests. Whilst we were there they had to deal with a challenging situation which they did so brilliantly. 9 West Borough, WimborneOn our first visit to Renoufs a few months back was a rather overwhelming experience. This time (8.8.25) we had a better idea of how it works and what to order, particularly thanks to Douglas, whose unhurried and gentle manner helped us no end in choosing the perfect platter for two.
In a nutshell, Renoufs is a wonderful dining experience, and of good value - if one does not over-order. And the staff (Douglas in particular), are outstanding in their professionalism, and in the way they offer unhurried help to those like my wife and me who are keen to take the plunge in to a new (for us) dining experience!

We were seated immediately and food arrived really quickly and was piping hot..We had the roast sirloin of beef and roast lamb, both cooked to perfection.. great portion sizes, veg was lovely and great selection and large amount of gravy. The food is always nice and piping hot. I would give 6stars if I could. Also the only subway in the area still selling delicious churros.

10 Church St, WimborneBooked a table for an early Mother’s Day treat for my mum. What a fantastic establishment, we had a warm and friendly greeting from the staff, service was outstanding. We were seated and given the menu, mum recieved a complimentary drink as it was for Mother’s Day, and when the food arrived it was exceptional. I highly recommend this place and mum is already pestering me to take her back.

3A The Parade, Waterloo, PooleSadly not the experience we were used to 4 years ago (moved out of the area) Firstly overcharged by using the '4 dishes' selection (cheaper ordered without) spent £23.75 and no prawn crackers. Small portions. Thank goodness I ordered OK sauce to make everything tasty. Hopefully its a 'one off' experience.

Food tasted great, presentation good and service excellent.

4 The Square, Cranborne, WimborneGreat little find, a proper traditional English pub. I just had a wonderful 2 night stay here with my wife. The owners couldn’t have been more welcoming. We also had a meal on the second night, I had the garlic chicken Kiev ( which was a 1/4 chicken!) it was delicious and my wife had the moules frites which was also great. I have not had a better pint of Guinness outside of Dublin! Great job Sheaf of Arrows, everything was 10/10 we would definitely come back soon!

The Horton Inn

They were really clear in communicating everything they needed beforehand, polite and chatty to all our guests and their fish and chips and nuggets and chips were great. They had options for our vegetarian and vegan guests and we received nothing but positive feedback from all our guests. Would recommend anyone to have at their wedding or event!

It was carefully explained to us that there would be a significant wait, as they were dealing a large group, but that was fine, as we were in no hurry and the atmosphere was very convivial. We were served with drinks straight away and our food orders were duly taken. The food was very good, perfect for a late morning brunch, and reasonably priced. It's not my first visit and it won't be my last.

There's no greeting and they deliver your food with the bare minimum of who ordered what, they aren't very attentive when you're ordering because they're chatting to each other.
The cafe is situated in a very pretty courtyard and with a better attitude from the staff it could be tip top.
I does'nt put me off going at all because it's so relaxing and pleasant otherwise.

However, I find it incredible they have such a high price point before they give you a bag of prawn cracker. My previous local gave me a bag on a ten pound order. Despite being a regular I need to spend at least £25 for a free bag or prawn cracker, and it keeps going up, there is no conession or recognition for being a regular. Let alone any friendly greeting when you go there. A mixed bag.

This isn’t just your average Wetherspoons—it’s full of charm and character, set in a beautifully restored historic building with cosy alcoves, high ceilings, and a real sense of local heritage. You can tell care has gone into keeping the place authentic yet welcoming.
We ordered two breakfasts: the traditional English and the Eggs Benedict—and both were spot on.
The Full English was generous and perfectly cooked. Crispy bacon, plump sausages, eggs just how I like them, and all the trimmings—great value for money and very satisfying. It came out quickly and piping hot, which isn’t always a given during busy morning hours.
The Eggs Benedict was the real surprise—runny yolks, toasted muffins, and a decent hollandaise sauce that tasted far better than I expected from a chain pub. Nicely presented, too.
Service was friendly and efficient. We ordered via the app and everything arrived promptly. The coffee was smooth, strong, and endlessly refillable—perfect for a slow start to the day.
With its relaxed atmosphere, great prices, and genuinely enjoyable food, The Man in the Wall is now firmly on my go-to list for breakfast when in the area. A hidden gem that balances quality and value beautifully.

The Riverside Cafe
Wimborne Minster, WimborneFound a seat outside next to the river and managed to enjoy the sound of the water. About 15 mins in tipped with rain and we were found a seat inside. A lovely jacket potatoe. Fast, polite staff, and lovely inside too. Will definitely return. Thank you.
